CBC News · Posted: Nov 12, 2025 5:29 PM EST | Last Updated: November 12Vancouver police say an eight-year-old girl died on Tuesday after she fell from a high-rise balcony in the city's Yaletown neighbourhood.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says officers were called to a residential building near Nelson Street and Expo Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. PT on Nov. 11 after the child fell from a balcony.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, despite life-saving efforts from first responders, the VPD says in a media release.
The police force says investigators from its Major Crime Section are looking into the death, and are asking anyone who knows anything about the situation to contact Vancouver police.
