"based on evidence"...it must be pretty positive evidence that Vida is deceased, and that Barton is responsible, for him to be charged so quickly. Have to wonder what that evidence is.

I wonder too. Possibly either at this residence, presumably where KB resided, or in his vehicle there was evidence of significant amounts of blood whether cleaned up or not.

I "walked" along that block on google map street view.
The homes certainly don't appear of the kind where you would find a Cadillac Escapade parked. I also went to the back, a lane with garages and parking/back yards.

Man arrested in connection with death of Chestermere, Alta. woman

It’s located in the community of Varsity, what’s considered a desirable older neighbourhood close to the University, Foothills Hospital and a golf course. Because of the convenient location of the community, property values in general are fairly high especially for single family homes. I don’t know about this particular address but the area in general varies from a population of middle class to upscale.

I wonder why CPS chose not to disclose the year of the Cadillac Escapade? I don’t recall ever noticing only the make and model of a vehicle mentioned by police but not the year. It could be anywhere from a 20 year old high mileage kicker to a + $100k current version.

Cadillac's are fairly pricey but their resale value tanks which is why they cost so much to lease. It could be a resale.

Here is the video of the CPS press conference from Friday. The Homicide Div Spokesperson expands on a few details which I hadn’t noticed in media reports. He speaks very emphatically towards Vida’s family, confirms her body might be found anywhere in Alberta, KB used the 2 different names but was known to most as KB, the relationship between the two was non-criminal and mentions Vida had a prior connection to Montreal, assumably prior to moving to Chestermere. KBs next court appearance is Aug 5th, tomorrow.

There has to be evidence in KB’s vehicle which leads CPS to believe Vida’s body was moved by it but I bet he’s not talking. What a lowlife to deny her grieving family a proper burial of who’s been described as his longterm “friend”. JMO

I just wish we knew who her family was, who the children and grandchildren are.. it's a big mystery. It took a long time for a plea, - KB holds the answers to the mystery
