Woman in 20s seriously injured after ‘unprovoked’ stabbing in Mississauga, suspect image released

A woman has been critically injured in a stabbing in Mississauga, Peel police say.

''Police in Peel region are appealing for the public’s help after a woman was randomly stabbed and suffered “near fatal injuries” Saturday evening.

The incident happened in the area of Eglinton Avenue West and Hurontario Street just before 6:30 p.m. where they responded to reports of a stabbing.''

“The victim, a woman in her twenties suffered near fatal injuries however her condition has since stabilized,” police wrote on Sunday.

“At this time, it is believed that suspect is not known to the victim and that this was random.”

Police say they are looking for a male suspect who is described as five-foot-nine with a thin build, dark complexion, short dark hair with a “receding hairline,” and a full beard.''

A young woman was the victim of a near-fatal random stabbing Saturday in Mississauga, leading to a plea for help from Peel Regional Police.

'Peel Regional Police said the attack happened Saturday at about 6:20 p.m. in the Eglinton Ave.-Hurontario St. area, where the victim had exited a transit agency bus and was followed by an assailant.'

''Police said the attacker is 5-foot-9 with a thin build, dark complexion, short dark hair with a receding hairline and a full beard. He wore black clothing, sunglasses, and he had a ring on his left hand and white wired headphones.

“If seen, members of the public are asked to dial 911 and not approach,” said police, who urged anyone with information to call 905-453-3311, ext. 1233.''

I admit I'm a bit face blind but these look like two different guys to me? One is wearing a jacket the other a hoodie. Face shape looks so different to me. Obviously one photo there is a hat and the other not maybe that influences the appearance of the face shape? I wonder if the photos are from two different days ?

The jacket is identical, one can see a hood in the pic on the right.

Just different lightning & angles of the photos.

Eyes are the same, bulging.
Facial hair and pursued/clamped lips.
Oh, and the nose is the same - quite big.

A 30-year-old man is facing an attempted murder charge in connection with an ‘unprovoked’ stabbing in Mississauga over the weekend.

''When they arrived, police said they found a woman in her 20s with life-threatening stab wounds. A police source told CP24 that a civilian stepped in to save the woman’s life at the time of the attack.

She was taken to the hospital and is now recovering, police said.

On Tuesday, investigators announced that a suspect was arrested the previous day. He has been identified as John Ralph Nuthalapti from Brampton.''
