Canada - Woman abducted at gunpoint, Barrie, Ont, 29 Aug 2015

Glad to read that she has been found safe!

Agree. The quickest Missing/Found Thread in Ws history. Lol. I wish more cases were like this.

Someone's abducted at 1pm. And by 1:05 pm they are found safe (unharmed ) and their abductors arrested.

Good outcome here.

well, it was about 4 and a half hours. She was abducted just before noon and found sometime around 4:30. Still very very fast!

Well 2+ years for a trial at least. Another Canadian way, sadly. It would be great if the speed of the crime and solving the crime would/could play a part in the court process. Alas, I dream.

This makes me think that this was personal and her family or friends or someone knew who these people were.

Now was she found in the car? At their house? Or what.

Since it was caught on tape and will soon be viral. I'm sure the chief detective will make sure to update the public. Hopefully.

I think these two are local and their vehicle and partial plate info led LE to their place or hotel nearby. Hopefully, these two aren't her parents. Barrie can be a rough town. No offense, I used to live there. JMO

I live less than an hours drive away - can't believe anyone will take offense to the reality of Barrie these days. It was meant to expand to a 'bedroom' city to working in TO and surrounding areas as well as a jump off point to cottage/playground country. Such programs come with problems.

Look forward to wth went down here.

Springwater township is pretty big. I wonder if they were on the road or at a specific address when apprehended? 20 minutes North of Barrie can be around Elmvale.

Butler said the victim appears to be in good condition and didn't appear to be injured, and credits witnesses for helping locate the suspects.

Police continue to investigate and have not released what charges will be laid, or the motive for the abduction.

A customer inside of Chavo Crepes witnessed the abduction from the restaurant’s patio. Police say it was the information from witnesses that led to the arrests.
"It all started with our witnesses calling in and what they saw and what scared them. We had no clue who this female was, who the male driver was, and the female passenger, we just didn’t' know," Butler says.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are expected to be officially laid sometime this weekend.

Springwater Township is big in square miles - with nothing but farms and small towns - like Elmvale or smaller. Their postal code begins with L0L.

Hoping this is a glitch in a small place/town.

So the girl victim is 24 and the male suspect is 35. What about the female suspect?

Maybe she owed him money and the police doesn't want people to know because she wouldn't look like a innocent victim.

Have they named the suspect yet? If not. Why the secrecy?

What's the connection . It sounds like they may try to bury this quickly. Hopefully more will come out.

No abduction charge for him? And the female in the vehicle, when the firearm was pointed, walked? Wasn't she the driver?

This man and woman took the young woman home - downtown Barrie to Midhurst - where she lived? Every possible route would have been very busy on a Saturday. Suspect we won't hear much in the way of answers.

I read that the gun was a pellet gun and that the relationship between all three will not be disclosed. I will find a link.

It sounds meth related. Maybe she took some of his stash that morning and he hunted her down.

Is it possible she was also prostituting herself in that area when the incident occured. I only asked since he knew exactly where to find her.
