The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said it happened early Monday morning, and the escape was discovered during a routine security check.

The sheriff's office said a search was started immediately and it's working closely with other agencies to find 24-year-old Charles Stevenson, 31-year-old Yusef Minor, and 25-year-old Noad Yohannes.

Stevenson is charged with murder and armed robbery, Minor is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of criminal firearm possession, and Yohannes is facing simple assault, arson and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.

I used to live less than 2 miles form there. I'm so glad I moved from that area.

They've been captured.

ATLANTA (AP) — Three inmates who escaped from a jail east of Atlanta, including a murder suspect, commandeered a terrified Lyft driver’s car to reach south Florida before she was rescued and they were captured, according to details revealed in court records.

The driver told FBI agents that the men used a fake name to order the ride, put a rope around her neck from behind her, dragged her into the backseat and threatened to kill her, according to a court affidavit filed late Tuesday and obtained by The Associated Press.
