Car stolen in Brampton with dog inside, family offering $500 reward - CityNews Toronto
"A family is frantic to find their furry friend is now offering a $500 reward after their car was stolen in Brampton with the family dog inside.

The dog’s owner, David Hoff, told Breakfast Television he’s had three-year-old Paws, a labradoodle, since he was a puppy.

Hoff said that while he’s recovering from open heart surgery, his sister offered to take Paws to an appointment.

Peel police said the car was parked, but left running, in the Longo’s parking lot at Ray Lawson Boulevard and Main Street on Monday night.

When the woman returned a short time later, the car and the dog were gone.

The vehicle had keyless remote entry and the window was slightly rolled down so Paws could get some fresh air."

Please note that date in thread heading should have said December and not November. Sorry.

"A car theft has turned into a dognapping and a Brampton family is worried about the fate of their three-year-old pup.

A blue Toyota Camry with licence BXJW772 was stolen from the Longo's plaza parking lot at Ray Lawson Boulevard and Hurontario Street Monday evening, Dec. 3.

Paws, a 90-pound labradoodle, was in the back seat, likely unbeknownst to the thief.

Now Peel Regional Police are looking for the car, and Paws, and his owner, David Hoff, 68, is hoping someone spots either one and reports it."

"Hoff said Paws is not microchipped and is not wearing a collar or tags, but he was wearing a yellow or orange harness.

"He has no street sense," Hoff said, adding he takes him on long walks every day. "He has never been loose."

Oh no! I hope the car thief does the right at least for the dog and lets him out.

Get him microchipped IF you get him back!

Never leave a baby or dog in the car while doing errands, go back for a second trip no matter the inconvenience.

I hope Paws gets home soon! Are you in touch with Animal Control constantly?

Good luck and best wishes for Paws!

Great news!
Paws reunited with owner after car stolen in Brampton with dog inside - CityNews Toronto
"On Wednesday, Animal Services in Brampton found Paws walking along Ray Lawson Boulevard. A woman from Animal Services called Hoff and reunited him with his dog.

“She phoned us last night around 7 and said she’s found Paws and can she come over,” Hoff explained.

“I was thrilled, I was thrilled. (My wife) started crying … he’s so much a part of the family.”

Hoff says Paws is in great condition and resting at home.

Police have still been unable to locate the stolen vehicle."

Wow I'm so relieved to hear this! I was very worried for Paws.

A car thief with a heart?

He is very cute and looks absolutely lovable, so glad he has been returned home!
His owner had heart surgery only 2 weeks ago and is supposed to avoid stress, well his big cuddly dog will no doubt calm and help heal his people!
