Hi @truthfinder2019,
(IMO) 'perceived' difference in the *order vs disorder* depends if the vehicle is viewed from the front OR back; the second image you've posted is from the back.

Carolina Wilga's van, which is believed to have experienced mechanical issues.

On Friday afternoon, a news helicopter captured footage of the abandoned vehicle as police continued their air and land search nearby.

The video in this article has a lot of information: Missing German backpacker Carolina Wilga likely abandoned broken-down van in outback.

Edit, removed post to Toots, the video has miraculously 'appeared', TA!

This is just so sad. I can't even begin to imagine how scared you would be out there on your own.

Does anyone have a google maps link to where Carolina's car was found.

I assume there is no mobile reception?
Hi @drsleuth,
Very unlikely to have any mobile reception.

'scared', (imo) no, not a primary response - more like:

FARK!!
Why can't I find.....
xyz?

Why is that over there when it should be there?

Why aren't there edf, xyz, etc., etc.?

The lost person is hyper-motivated to get UNLOST,

That's the problem!

NEVER leave the vehicle UNLESS staying with the vehicle means you are going to die as a result - for example - the vehicle is about to EXPLODE - IF you stay with it you will DIE!

A police spokesperson said Ms Wilga was found "safe and well."

WA Police Inspector Martin Glynn said Ms Wilga was found walking along a bush track at the edge of the Karroun Hill Nature Reserve by a member of the public.

"She is now en route to a hospital in Perth for some medical attention," he said.

"As you can imagine from the trauma she's suffered for the last few days, she's been obviously through a great deal.

"She does have some injuries, she's been ravaged by mosquitoes, she's been through an incredible journey of trauma.

"No doubt, [it] will be a testament to demonstrating her bravery in these circumstances."

Inspector Glynn said Ms Wilga had been airlifted away from Beacon and her family had been notified of her wellbeing.

I'm so happy she's been found alive and well.

I'm now just waiting for the conspiracy theories to begin.

It kind of sounds like she did stay with the car until the last few days.
She may have given up hope that she would be found, I'm guessing.

So she may not have been wandering around trying to walk her way out for all the time the car was stuck.
Maybe she took some provisions with her and set out a few days ago.

I'm now just waiting for the conspiracy theories to begin.
Probably 12 days since her car got stuck! I don't believe in miracles and don't believe in conspiracies either. Hopefully, what she's been doing for this long is somewhere in between :)
If all missing persons cases ended like this the world would be a happier place. Her family must be overjoyed. What an adventure to tell your kids about later down the track. She'd be like: "Did I tell you kids about how mum got lost in the Aussie Outback." And the kids would say: "Yer, mum, we've heard it a thousand times".
It goes to show we should never give up hope and I've got to admit that I did :(
