Baez has "dream team" aspirations. He hopes if he throws enough of a fit he can accomplish what OJ's defense was able to do in CA.

IMO

Good luck with that Baez. LOL - They don't have the money or the power O.J. did. O.J. had the sympathy of the jury because they played the race card. It will not work for KC.

is the fact we know it is happening going to change the outcome? nope.

This isnt the first time or case that the press has leaked a GJ case. It happens here in Indiana with high profile cases. I have sat on the GJ here on one such case.No one will know who the GJ are I can say that with certainty! And for those who think LE leak this thats a load of crap. Before you start pointing fingers why not point it at one of the ones who got called by the GJ. Im sure the A's are getting a kicker out of this one. One of the cases we did was leaked to the press by the accused family who was called by us.
------------

Right off the bat I figured the A's were responible. The A's have done everything possible to throw a wrench in ~ why stop now! If one word from meeting is leaked, figure where it came from!! IMO..

Isnt that strange? The neighbors are supporters and are upset about this? I dont get it..And the contents of the GJ havent even happened yet. Is it pertinent that people know the case will be heard? Thats secret?

I suspect it is more BAEZ and less neighbors that are outraged... maybe HE said the neighbors are upset. hmmmmm poor thing, no one can say anything about his client. Rather overprotective aren't we Baez.

BTW Grand Jury's aren't SECRET, only who serves on them and what is said IN them. NOTHING has been leaked.

So.. we have a defense attorney who thinks a GJ is a trial, and a bunch of people who think it's secret?

That is too funny.............they are not secret here. Only the, jurors, the testimony and the witnesses who testify are kept secret. The indictments are usually kept secret until the suspect is arrested, but not always.

Poor Baez has moved into KC's twilight zone............I can hear the music now.

I agree with this. I remember the first time I heard about it the reporter said "several people have been instructed to clear their schedule for next Tuesday" GA and LA being the ones that were named. It sounds like it came from KCs family.

Bet Cindy accompanies him and sits outside with her ear to the door.

A state can seat a grand jury for any case they want to, not just capital cases.

The Supreme Court states the importance of secrecy but does not mandate it. IIRC, Florida grand jury's are routinely seated, and not done in secret for the most part.

IMO, the article is making a mountain out of a molehill.
...and why would the neighbor's be outraged?

PS- from what I've gathered, there's enough info out there to know that this is even the last seating of this particular grand jury. There will be a new one to hear cases/charges after this...if the info is true that is.

And she'll try to telepathically tell him NO GEORGE BEFORE WORK..just like she did on the Greta interview. She's probably speachless that she can't be in that room, and not in control.

I've noticed jb recently making a lot of references to "future clients" I think he's trying to set up for the aftermath of this case, hoping he will HAVE a future client.

Absolutely not. Personally, I think Baez's behavior prior to the "leak" telegraphed what was likely to come next.

I agree with the Good Luck part, with the exception that they are under-funded for such an enterprise, they are NOT short on resources.

Their ability to convince others they are, however, could definately be considered an asset.

Do the witnesses come in one at a time and leave after their testimony? I found the answer on the other GJ thread, which would be, "yes". Thanks so much for the expert input on this site!

Ya know when I wonder about just that, "selling one's soul to the devil" comes to mind.

I agree that it has to be Baez. He's on record as saying that he doesn't believe in the grand jury system. He's obviously biased and letting his anger show. He's making an issue where there shouldn't be one.

Sorry Jose........this is the American justice system at work.

Does the fact that this has been leaked set up any grounds for appeal? I hope not. Also, someone had asked about GJ witnesses - they are brought in 1 at a time.

  • #79
It would seem to me that if we know where and when the Grand Jury convenes, then finding out who the witnesses are would be a piece of cake. I mean, surely if this info is known, then the media are going to park outside and film every person coming and going-wouldn't you think? I do not know how they would keep THAT information secret unless the location where they convene is also kept secret. Anyone know if it is?

I think it was both George and Baez.

Baez blew my mind when he said he didn't believe in the GJ system. I don't think I've ever heard a criminal defense attorney say that before. I guess it might be because its less financially advantageous for him or maybe it will take him away from Casey for those precious few hours....IDK. :waitasec:
