Again for reference.......full of good info....

ETA.......Submitting bills for investigators and mitigation specialists.... http://www.justiceadmin.org/faq/Training%20Modules/InvestBilling1.pdf

Indigent for costs Affidavit of Attorney's Fees http://www.justiceadmin.org/ind_for_cost/ind_for_cost/Affidavit for Attorney's Fees-Crim.pdf No wonder RH suspects this will be an issue.
Ok...I'm a little confused...the affidavit does state that the attorney hasn't received money from a person or "source"...but we know that's absolutely NOT true...so can anyone tell me if there will come a time and place that the attorney has to answer questions about his client's "indigency"?

ETA: oops...sorry...hadn't gotten to the end of the thread...what a coinkydink!

Oh, how long have we been waiting for this?

"In its response to Anthony's request, Lake said attorneys must submit an affidavit attesting to the estimated amount of attorney's fees and the source of payment for those fees."

I know we had tons of material about this early on in the case!
...and maybe we can get to finding out what happened to the rest of the money we suspect they all got.

The interesting line of this article for me is the one that says the JAC won't pay for out of state travel for lawyers.

I wonder how this will affect Ms. Lyons?

Question please...
I have been wondering for a long time if there may be money hidden somewhere somehow. If that were the case could it be found and traced all the way back to it's source?

A few days ago someone posted the link to the Indigency paper that Casey signed the first time she was in jail. Can someone help me out and repost that link, please?
Thanks,
Katharine

Actually...there is a provision according to the doc I posted that allows for travel expenses for pro bono attorneys. Hmmmmmmmmm I'll find it.

Here you go...found at the JAC link I gave.

What are Due Process Costs?
Due process costs are those costs of enumerated elements associated with providing due
process to an indigent person. These elements, as set forth in s. 29.007, F.S., ensure due
process in criminal and civil proceedings in accordance with state and federal
constitutional guarantees. Among the allowable due process costs are:
• Court reporting and transcription costs;
• Witness and expert witness fees;
• Mental health professionals;
• Reasonable pretrial consultation fees and costs; and
• Travel costs for witness and pro bono counsel. Travel costs for privately retained
counsel are overhead expenses and are not reimbursable as due process costs.

When the defense does not get all the money they request, can that be used later to file an appeal, saying they were not able to give her an adequate defense with the funds they had?

Money is suddenly the least of Casey's worries. It may be just another disturbed woman trying to insert herself into the case. We will see what the prosecutors let us know. What's next? Martians?If it is true, IF, it is true that mom, pop, Casey and Lee made up the entire Zanny the Nanny story and lied to LE and Federal Officers...it is over, imo.

Bold mine.

She'll have to relocate to Florida? Maybe this is DePaul's way to get rid of her.....just kidding, guys. :crazy::crazy::crazy:

Oh yes, but just not out of state travel - and I suspect Casey has been footing the bill for the zipping around M.Lyons has been doing in and out of Florida. A speaking engagement there, back for a hearing or to flip off a motion or two here.......

Seems it to me too, but is she flying first class or coach? Does she take taxis, or have a Town Car ferry her? Does she fly solo, or with an assistant? If we know how many times she went to Orlando for this case, and with whom, we can pretty quickly get a sense of where that went.

:waitasec: Unless Linda KB is pro bono counsel as well I guess her fees and expenses will not be covered? Or will they say she is an "expert witness" instead of one of the attorney's for her costs to be covered?

Todd M is out so no worries about having to pay for his expenses.

State has ‘severe concerns’ about Casey Anthony’s request to be declared indigent
By Amy L. Edwards, Orlando Sentinel

3:32 p.m. EST, March 12, 2010

The JAC said it is concerned with Casey Anthony’s request to have state funds used for part of her defense expenses

The state commission that doles out the public money used in criminal court cases said has "severe concerns" about Casey Anthony's request to be declared indigent.

An attorney for the Tallahassee-based Justice Administrative Commission questioned Anthony's need for public money for her defense on a first-degree murder charge because she already has paid out more than $110,000 in legal fees, according to a document filed with the Orange County Circuit Court and obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.

You know I do not think it is just a rumor that ABC may have paid upwards of two hundred thousand dollars for photos and videos of Casey. Someone was asking me earlier how easy is it to copyright/watermark ( stamp across the top of the photo that it may not be reproduced) photos and why one would do so. I looked through several of the videos the media has put up and the only ones I see a stations watermark on are the "Geraldo Exclusive" tape of Dom in the woods and the series here of ABC photos. Geraldo said he did not pay a dime for that tape, and Brad concurred. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_sEh-hVZcA[/ame]

That leads me to infer ABC absolutely has a exclusive arrangement regarding the rights to these photos.

I trust the judge will have plenty to say if Casey and or Mr. Baez deny this. The only alternative that I can think of is that indeed the deal was between mom and pop and ABC and Casey's name is on no contract. If that is the case...will it matter, can that be considered their money that they contributed for their daughter, but not CASEY'S money, per se? I have to look through some , I do think they made another deal with 48 hours. Do any of you recall who the tall bald producer that sits with them in court works for, which network?
