I quit in the 11th grade so I could go to work in order to pay the rent and bills for the apartment my brother and I lived with our mother. I didn't get my high school diploma until I was 45.

Casey is smart with or without a high school diploma. There are people with high degrees that are not the smartest link in the chain.

Having a high school diploma doesn't determine anything except you graduated from high school.

Some students graduate with a 4.0 and other students have a 1.0 and get the same high school diploma like the students with a 4.0.

What makes people think that 'Casey is so smart' or 'Casey is so bright'. I'd like to see some evidence that would support these kind of suggestions.

Is this smart to give your child to the person you hardly know?? Is this smart to get caught after every lie? Is this smart to lose one job after another? If she is oh so bright, why couldn't she graduate?

And finally IS THIS SMART TO GET PREGNANT WHEN YOU ARE NOT READY TO BE A MOTHER? I think her brightness have been 'slightly'..mm.. overestimated.

I am not the biggest fan of Malich, but I do have to say, if I were conducting that interview, there would have been repeated thuds in the background. That would have been me beating my head off the wall repeatedly.

The whole time I listened to the recording, I had to imagine that ZG was really Cindy.
When would be the last time that KC saw Caylee with Cindy. Anyone here tried subbing Cindy for ZG and see what dynamic evolves. Cindy does say that there is some truth mixed with the untruths and would KC ever admit it if her mother took Caylee away from her under threat? Cindy then becomes Nanny all along. Kind of fits.

Interesting, but it was Cindy that called 911 and the third call was critical. I don't think she would have done that had she been the one Caylee was left with and the one Casey "trusted". It would make sense, and I can see Caylee throwing her mother under the bus if she wanted the house so bad.

I do not know. I mean serial killers can fool their wives and families and neighbors for years ..decades even..how could they all not of known..KWIM?

Obviously they knew she was a liar and a thief..even CA admits that..I just do not think they ever thought KC would kill her..

Obviously she is relatively bright or she would have gotten caught sometime in the 2 years that she lied about having a job.
She is smart enough to have people convinced that she was a good mother.
She is smart enough to have a fantasy world that no one saw through before now.
And a lot of smart people get pregnant before they are ready to have children. Some of them grow up, some of them don't. But that especially is not a judge of someone's intelligence.

Aye, Casey is very smart! I think she had the world at her hands if she decided to walk right. She was beautiful and as smart as they come-- she threw it all away for___________ I can't figure.

She really did have Bella Vida! Caylee was beautiful and smart, her family was behind her. What did she have to lose? I am set on constant /boggle!
Most schools these days graduate folks who can't even meet my 8th grade drop-out standards. It's sad.

Casey is beautiful and brilliant, she's isn't normal though. Something is jiggy with her moral compass/standards or her heart is dead. I can't decide which, if not both.

If KC knew that her parents had Caylee would there be any motivation to play the 'kidnapping game? Could the script come from the discussions in the time before the last call?? IF KC doesn't know where Caylee is could someone have gotten her and KC had to assume it was her parents because they told her it would happen at some point. One thing this all proves is that Casey can't handle the parental responsibilities and it would have been easier to get control with KC in jail for the thefts. Before then not too likley.

Remember KC said that she was overtaken at the park, or something like that.

a better mom!

ME TOO!! There's so much guilt associated with being a mom, so much pressure and I often don't feel good enough. Through this case, I've eased up on myself and realized that I could have just given up... we all have that option... but I didn't take that option and I never will. I choose to do better everyday! Whether she's alive or not...Caylee's life and even Casey's choices mean something.

On topic- I came to see what people were saying about the newly released recordings and your post just stuck out to me. I'm off to finish listening to them now!

My Hub had to do the same with his family and he received his GED later in life and is the best Dad ever, just ask his kids.

And, in those few minutes (that seemed like hours), how many horrible scenarios ran through your head?

Almost the exact scenario at my house! Youngest was missing, we searched frantically inside and out for maybe 3 minutes, then called the sheriff. When the sheriff arrived my oldest son and I were both in the pond looking for him. Another Sheriff arrived and found him asleep on the top of his bed, hidden amongst his many, (way too many) stuffed animals.
No, a mother with a child missing does not wait 31 days and then still not call, her mother had to do it.
I have listened over and over to the tapes and I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that she could be "sane" and have murdered her daughter and not show some remorse. I feel as LE did with one of their last questions "when you were growing up, did you take any medication?" I think they could sense that this girl suffers from some serious mental disorder. I am so impressed with the level of compusure they were able to keep, knowing as they know that she had done something with her daughter.

Why would LE release the tapes of the interviews? Could it be they read forums/blogs and hope that others hearing the tapes will give them some insight into this case? Maybe they thought the tapes would be listened to by more people, compared to those who read the 400 pg document.

I don't understand this.

Maybe Casey has Multiple Personality Disorder and she and Zenaida are one and the same.

Casey has been able to manipulate everyone around her including THREE veteran LE officials; I'd say she is pretty darn smart!

No, it is not smart to give your child to just anyone, but there are parents who use a local babysitter to come and watch their children all the time. And then there are the adult babysitters who have a good background check only to find out they are hurting the children they care for.

There are many girls and women who get pregnant and are not ready to be a mother. And there are women who want to have children only to find out they are not cut out to be a mother.
