She says that the rift Kasem has with his daughter from another marriage is based on her participation in the Church of Scientology.

Thanks for posting the videoed statement.

I don't know who's right or wrong in this case but that poor young woman in the video is going to be scarred for life due to all this turmoil. I'm sure others in the family will be/have been equally scarred.

Two seconds in an it's a bit much for me. "The probate system is broken." She goes on to describe how a fraudulent ex parte application was filed.

I work in the system. I know what goes on in guardianship cases. How can a person complain about a system they refuse to participate in?

She never showed up to the hearing. She did not challenge the ex parte. Instead, she lied to her attorney and fled with Mr. Kasem.

She seems nuts.

The results are her own fault.

Okay, so it's about Scientology now? What about his oldest daughter and her husband, who Kasem originally gave power of attorney to? What about his brother? His other family members? His friends? Why are they all being kept from Mr. Kasem? Are they all Scientologists too? Nonsense.

I feel you. To think of my poor daddy when he was dying. He was so sweet. He would've been confused even if he appeared "alert" and "cognizant" and not able to totally express what he wanted. He would've been so lonely and sad without me there. It horrifies me to think of it.

LE who did the welfare check are used to seeing elderly people with bed sores, filthy clothes, lying in their own waste, with improper care. But just because Mr. Kasem is not in such a condition does not mean he's not being abused.

Yeah, there are rotten kids out there who only care about their parents' money. Nothing indicates that's the case here. Instead, it appears to be the opposite.

It can't be that the kids, the brother, the friends, the judge, and Kasem's own court-appointed lawyer are all wrong and Jean is the only one right.

Agreed. I'm not entirely sure what Jean's motivation here is unless it's just pure spite to make sure his children and siblings are kept from someone they love. It's likely that Jean made sure that all his other children (except her own daughter) and Casey's siblings are written out of the will. More than likely she ensured they would get nothing. And no new will executed now will hold up given his health and mental condition. So what is Jean so afraid of?? Or is she really just that spiteful?? My guess is that she wanted to take Casey out of 24 hr care because of the cost and wanted to speed up her access to the full fortune Casey had worked so hard to accumulate. It would be win/win for her she could save money on the cost of his care to ensure maximum $$$ for her inheritance. Or I'm totally off and she really is a cold hearted spiteful you know what. But I googled some images and video of the hearing today and she looked WORRIED and upset at the judges ruling so something is up.

The ruling by a judge in Washington state marked the latest twist in the ongoing dispute between Kasem's wife Jean and her stepdaughter, Kerri Kasem, who has said in court filings that her father suffers from a form of dementia. <snip>
Last week, she was served with a California court order that temporarily suspended her powers to determine his medical treatment and expanded Kerri Kasem's authority to determine whether her father is receiving adequate care.
Jean Kasem told KING-TV then that her husband was getting the best possible care and she was "not going to allow anybody to shred (her) family on unfounded facts and malicious accusations."
In court on Friday, Kerri Kasem said her father was suffering from bedsores along with lung and bladder infections. Kasey Casem was not in court.

She is keeping his kids from him for some reason.

Correct she's keeping him away from his kids for a reason just not sure why. It's suspicious that she swept away a man in the hospital who is severely ill the day after he and his daughters had a long nice and loving visit. She didn't leave at a normal hour but at 2:30 am.

She seems imbalanced to me. Her video statement is wacky. She failed to participate in the recent court proceedings and just kept calling the ex parte application "fraudulent" and the court system corrupt.

Kasem's other kids and family are not Scientologists, from what I can tell, and she's kept them away from him too. The older daughter is married to a doctor. And the only one keeping him from round the clock in patient medical care is her.

Jean Kasem, however, was displeased with the outcome of Friday's court proceedings and told reporters, "Shame on these children."
She then played an audio recording of what sounded like a groaning man, saying the moaning came from her husband when he heard about Friday's court activity, the affiliate reported.
"He's crying," Jean Kasem said.
