I had the impression they'd already been exploring this for a while, she'd been seeing some therapist and that therapist had gone to Ohio to interview relatives of GA's, etc, and we saw in the jailhouse letters about her supposedly having "new memories surfacing" about possibly being molested as a child, etc. But is this a new doctor?

I know a lot of us from the beginning of the case wondered if she might have some dissociative disorder, myself included. She also has many visible compulsive/repetitive mannerisms. I'm glad if an expert in those disorders has been called in.

I don't see the sex addiction angle myself, I don't see any evidence she was any more interested in sex than most people her age. I don't think the so-called "partying" at Fusian for example was strictly partying, nor do I see it as sexual or anything, she was dressed more tamely than all the other girls in the club, she did the "hot body" dance for Tony's event (and hated it), she was basically working for him for free. But she's there doing this fake "audition" type smile in the photos at the club, etc. The question is, why was she doing this stuff for him, cleaning for him, bringing food from her parents' refrigerator for him and his friends, hanging out there with them, etc, when they didn't seem to be even nice to her....why was she doing all this stuff for TL rather than looking for Caylee? What was going on and what did she think was going on?

I would be interested in what they find out about possible trauma, hypnotic type behavior, dissociation, compulsive behaviors, mania/delirium/sleepdeprivation etc, any cognition/memory issues, etc, any potential medical causes, toxicology, etc. As her friend Annie said, they all knew Casey didn't always make sense, but Casey would never harm Caylee or just lose her or let her be missing and not report it. So what happened?

Link to where Annie D said that please. I only remember Annie saying that Casey was a liar and everyone knew it. That Casey was resentful of Cindy acting as Caylee's mother(at the birthday party)and that she(Annie)stopped being Casey's friend because she was tried of being betrayed.

I do not remember Annie saying Casey "did not make sense" or that Casey would "never harm Caylee or loose her or or be missing and not report it."

Jesse said he did not see Casey harming Caylee on purpose...but he did think that Caylee had died in the care of Casey and cited several ways that Casey had neglected Caylee while in his presence.

Casey fits all the criteria for sociopath / psychopath / antisocial personality disorder or whatever you want to call it. She has an uncanny ability to weave others into her web of lies by making them infatuated with her. All this nonsense comes from Casey, through Baez and onto whoever is running interference that day.

Now that Baez and co have finally realised all the fantasy tales of drug cartels and a live Caylee being transported all over South America on private jet were false, they think...'Oh, no way, she wasn't telling us the truth.....oh, maybe she is mad then' well, it's way too far down the road to change the game to an insanity defence, and none of the theories being floated are anywhere near enough to mitigate a death sentence.

Sorry Baez and co, the only explanation is the one everyone had right at the beginning...the girl is a psychopath, it happens every day.

I would find it hilarious however if they do go down the multiple personality path, I would get a great kick out of watching Casey try and play act all her alters in court everyday for the benefit of the jury.....please guys, let's give this one some real encouragement....then at the end of the day one of her alters can be found guilty and sentenced.

And, what kind of "disorder" causes you to put duct tape on your two year old and put them in your trunk? NONE. Even if they find that Casey is crazy...that still means she is guilty.

Casey will never let them say she has a diminished mind in any way, imo. She is much too proud of her "intelligence." I agree with the idea that Casey is making any defense impossible. Jose knew what she was, could hear what she was saying and how crazy she is...he figured he would drag this out and get all that he could and other people have jumped on and off that bandwagon.

If anything, Casey would agree to the molestation defense. I think the dr. is there for that: incest. Watch out George.

Very respectfully, I disagree, but if you can site a reference where she indicated how much she "hated" the hot bod contest, then I'll eat my hat, I guess. She looked like she was having the time of her life! Her outfit may have looked more conservative than her contest mates (I recall seeing at least one other person in the pic), but that's like saying that one orange is juicier than another - they are still the same kind of fruit.

If she "hated" the hot bod contest, why are all of her party pictures show her with the smile and fun-loving grin on her face? She loves it and everyone knows it. That's why her attorney is trying to hard to get them not admitted at trial. It's really hard to claim that your client is desperately searching for her mising daughter when said client is obviously partying to the nth degree.

Are the tests made to take that into account? Seems like a bit of a unique scenario. It's not exactly someone walking into a stress center and asking for help. Yep, there are all kindsa "trick" questions on the tests to see if someone is malingering.They also ask the same questions in different ways to see if you respond the same way each time.

Sexual aggression is part of the sociopath make-up, just another indicator, IMO. I know college aged people are hyper sexual in many cases, but combine Dr. Jekyll's hypersexuality with Mr. Hyde's homemaker, it just shows me that she is not a free-spirited college aged girl, she is (trying to be) a calculated showman.

She needed a free place to live and hide from her parents. She had no job, no money, and she wiped out AH's bank account. She was running out of people to steal from.

She couldn't go home without Caylee because 1) CA would have insisted Casey bring her home 2) Casey would have had some explaining to do regarding the smell in the car.

Tony barely knew Casey and he took everything she said at face value. She wanted to keep him happy so she could live there for free.

I know this is somewhat OT, and with my legal background I should probably know this answer - but I don't......

What is so wrong about a defense attorney realizing his client is crackers - at any point in the case - and notifying the court that there needs to be a change in plea?

If your client has diminished capacity or is unfit to assist in their own defense, well - that is the way it is! I just don't get it?
