Casey's appeal on the 4 charges of lying to police

Did LF actually say Casey had been arrested on credit card theft? Really???

This is all so depressing, all over again.

I hope LF and CM like working for free.

I'm watching the video now...and I agree with others...it's really difficult to follow LF.

Judge saying so many "untruths"...can't believe he's quoting stuff as fact.

That grin Casey wore with her light blue hoodie (Thanks Amy!) at the police station indicates to me that no way Casey thought she was "in custody". This does churn everything up. Ugh!

:what:
Universal Studios, a Theme Park, has an Interrogation Room?
theme parks with interrogation rooms? who would of thought
:floorlaugh:

Don't give them any ideas. I'm sure we'll now find out that FCA was traumatized by Disney somehow as a child, and was too scared to leave or something.

Ok...my last word on this hearing...I don't think the State's attorney was that bad. He does seem to know the facts.

Not only is Fryer the teacher's pet of APPEAL Chief Judge Richard Orfinger [who was one of the 3 judges who heard the Appeal TODAY] ... but she also interned for Judge Eaton [the one who has so much to say, on Aphrodite's show, about how the jury got it right and Caylee was nothing but a bag of bones].

"Based on her high score on the Florida Bar Exam, the Honorable Richard B. Orfinger, Chief Judge of the Fifth District Court of Appeal in Daytona Beach, Florida, invited Lisabeth to speak at a ceremony for swearing in new attorneys at the Court."

excerpt re: Eaton's interview for Aphrodite's show:
"Eaton says many people who disagree with the verdict simply don’t know the facts. ”I don’t know how you can prove premeditation when all you have is a bag of bones,” Eaton says."

Just so odd. The weirdness never ends with this case. She never should have been allowed to argue in front of them imo.

IF these charges are upheld by this appeals court, is there a higher court to which CA can appeal? If it is possible I can see her taking it all the way to the Supreme Court!!!!

How stressful do you think all of this is on the felon?

Because if it was me, as a normal person, I think you'd have to put me in a padded room by this stage for the gut-churning stress. The money troubles, the stress of trial preparations, the stress of waiting for the other shoe to drop- if anyone else is going to pop up out of the woodwork to sue, etc etc. If it was me, I would have lost half my body weight by now, gotten a permanent twitch, and would be putting vodka into my cornflakes trying to cope with the panic, dread and unending aggrevation.

Do you think any of this stuff bothers her- for real? Or has she learned that even when it comes to murder, you can still figure out a way to get off scot-free and escape any consequences, so it doesn't register with her as something worthy of concern? (Like, she has cleared the biggest hurdle, so everything else is small beans now?)

I'd really like to know everyone's opinion on this.

I'd be willing to bet her heart rate didn't even fluctuate when she murdered Caylee.

She isn't human.

ThinkTank posted the States argument outlining the 30 days leading up to and including CA's demand that she be arrested for credit card theft to keep her from not producing Caylee and running away again.

When the supervising LE got there he told the guy to ge FCA out of the car and back into the house because they were investigating a missing child. But the defense is using this as an argument about her being arrested right then, which of course she wasn't.

Credit card theft, car theft, bank theft...I guess Cindy had a list to choose from. But, I always thought it was the car...in hindsight, it's a little drastic to put someone in handcuffs for using their mom's cc without their permission. Wonder if the police officer was afraid of Cindy. LOL

Maybe LF doesn't really 'believe' in her current cause. The poorly executed arguments may actually be a signal to learned judges that she isn't really giving this her 'best effort'.

Though, counsels personality or demeanour can say much to us, judges have clearly defined laws in which they can work.

I'm surprised she was even granted leave to appeal since in the UK there has to be a 'point of law' on which one can argue, simply disliking the first result isn't a point on which an appeal is granted.

The Judges here should only be allowed to use evidence that was presented at the initial trial and are bound by that decision UNLESS the first Judge erred in applying or understanding the law.

I'm not a lawyer, but I think this whole farce has gone far enough now, the lawyers and the felon have all had their face time, those who were to be given TV deals etc, have had them. Sorry LF and CM, doesn't look like you made the cut this time. Maybe try again next year.

I just wanted to say I still hate CA and it just gets worse every time I see her name. I have never had such a hatred for anyone else in my life like I have for this vile subhuman I have never met. I wish she would just disappear.

Either way she has to answer questions in her civil suit, correct? Regardless of whether or not her lying charges are overturned? Either way she wont be able to take the 5th because the criminal case will be over. Am I correct?

It is clear that they want the charges overturned so she can avoid the States bill and her TES bill as well as ZG's inevitable bill. IMO anyway.

Even if her lying convictions are overturned or condensed, she still lied to investigators which cost the state and TES a massive amount of money. She still gave a fictitious nanny name. These things have not changed.
