Details of Disappearance
Wallace was last seen at her residence in Grants Pass, Oregon, on February 1, 1998. Her husband stated she simply disappeared from their residence, leaving her purse and clothes behind as well as pictures she normally carried. She has never been heard from again.

Wallace's husband didn't report her missing. Her father, who lived out of state, filed the report four months after he last had contact with her. Her Social Security card was found in her husband's possession. He also had her driver's license, with the photo cut out.

A pile of stained clothing, rags, and sheets found in the woods were thought to be related to Wallace's case, but forensic testing could not even determine whether the stains were blood.

After her disappearance, Wallace's gray and maroon 1975 Dodge minivan with the Oregon license plate number TRA107 was found abandoned in Redding, California. She and her husband both had their names on the title. Her husband stated he couldn't afford to retrieve the vehicle, even though it had his belongings in it, because he was unemployed and had prior convictions for driving under the influence. Two guns normally kept in the van were missing when it was located.

Wallace went missing under suspicious circumstances and is believed to have been murdered. Her husand is considered a possible suspect, but no one has been charged in connection with her disappearance.

I would also like to add- yesterday I learned that Catherine's parents passed away without ever learning the truth about whatever happened to her. So I'm boosting this thread to say RIP Robert and Shirley McCarthy, may you finally see your daughter once more, and may those of us left down here continue to seek justice for her.

I can see similarities. FYI - distance to Vancouver is roughly 550 miles.

If she was the victim of human trafficking it's not impossible for them to get her out that far (IF this doe is our Catherine)

That would also be a good explanation for her belongings! But not her husband's failure to report her missing...

Circumstances of Disappearance​

Catherine was last seen February 1, 1998 in Grants Pass, OR. Left from home and spouse, no purse or clothes taken. Husband did not report her missing, father from another state reported her missing 4 months after last speaking with her.

She left behind 30 years of pictures that she always kept with her. Her driver's license was found in husband's wallet with the photo cut out. He also had her SSN card.

A van was both spouse's, but after the disappearance of Catherine, the van was found abandoned in Redding, California.

The van was checked for blood. Two guns were missing from the van.

Foul play is suspected.

@stocktonskies, may I ask why 2 firearms were regularly in the vehicle? How old were you and your brother when she disappeared? Did she have custody? Do you remember anything from that time period, at all?

I apologize if some of these questions are uncomfortable, no judgment what so ever. Just trying to dig a little deeper and maybe prosper some ideas.
