Victim's daughter recounts crime
Charges dropped against Ed Queen
Cathy's daughter, Pam, came home from school to find a man in her house. The man tied her up and sat with her in her room until her mother, who was in the middle of a divorce, came home. The man, possibly Ed Queen, murdered her mother. This may have been done at the request of Cathy Carroll's estranged husband, Gene Carroll.
After the murderer fled the house, Pam freed herself and ran to a neighbor for help. The family's German Shepherd dog, Thunder, had to be restrained by Pam so police could enter the home. Oddly the dog didn't seem to mind the intruder who tied Pam up and murdered her mother.
This case went to trial twice, once a mistrial, once a not guilty verdict against Gene Carroll.
