EYEWITNESS NEWS UNCOVERS NEW THEORY INTO DISAPPEARANCE Eyewitness News uncovered details Friday of a working theory held by investigators that little Caylee may have drowned in the family swimming pool. A source close to the investigation revealed only to Channel 9 a working theory of the crime involving Caylee drowning and what may have happened next.

The source said some investigators believe a flurry of phone calls from Casey to her parents on June 16 could be an indication that whatever happened to Caylee happened that day. On that day, Casey and Caylee were last seen together by Caylee's grandfather George at the Anthony family home where they lived.

Caylee Marie Anthony loved the water and some investigators are considering whether that has something to do with her disappearance.

The theory is based on the following facts.

Fact #1: Casey Anthony's phone records show a flurry of unanswered phone calls to her parents on June 16.

Some believe that could be because that's when something happened to Caylee. A possibility being considered is Caylee could've gotten into the backyard pool on her own and was discovered too late.

Fact #2: Eyewitness News was told the Anthony family was careful to keep a ladder near the pool safe from Caylee, but that around the time of her disappearance the ladder was up.

"Boy, how she can just figure things out. We, of course, as every family would, we've had to childproof everything and she's smart enough to take it off," Lee Anthony said.

Fact #3: A neighbor says, right around the time Caylee disappeared, Casey had backed the car up to the garage, which the neighbor said was unusual, and borrowed a shovel for about an hour.

Fact #4: The car was later found abandoned at the Amscot at Goldenrod and Colonial and was towed. When Casey's parents found out and got it back weeks later, Caylee's disappearance began to unravel. Caylee's grandmother called 911 and made a frantic plea for help.

"There's something's wrong! I found my daughter's car today and it smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car!" Cindy Anthony said in the call.

Fact #5: Investigators said they found evidence in the car that indicated Cindy Anthony's statement was true and the FBI is testing it to verify that.

"The first 24, 48 hours I had the 'what if, what if, what if.' I also went over all of it with the sheriff's department. Sgt. Allen can tell you that I sat down with him and talked about different things. He made me feel a lot better when they examined the pool, around the pool area, because, to me, that would be the riskiest place that something could have happened," Cindy Anthony said Friday afternoon in response to the theory.

This is not the only theory investigators are considering. They're still hoping to find Caylee alive.

Channel 9 has also learned that new technology is being used to try to find out if in fact there was a dead body in Casey's car. A new lab test is being used on a sample from a stain found in the trunk of the car. A new device tests gases emitted from the stain to determine whether there's evidence of decomposition.

Whether it's ZG or not, what if Casey deliberately kept her "nanny" and Cindy separated, never letting them meet, because the whole work-nanny story is a lie. Follow me here...

What if she told Cindy that the nanny cost $150/week and that the nanny would only take cash. Cindy gives Casey cash to pay the nanny, but there never was a job, never was a nanny, and Casey used that money to pay for whatever her expenses were (Target clothes, beer, gas).

Yes. This makes sense. Casey would have gone to great effort to ensure that there would be no reason for her mother to ever have a need to meet "the nanny".

When Cindy was on the stand, the state's attorney questioned her about Casey's spotty employment history. Cindy knew there were big gaps between jobs.

So why did Casey need a babysitter for the last 18 months if she's worked maybe half of that?

Do we know where Casey was when she was speaking to Jesse during this call? One quick thought, and don't know if anyone brought this up before, but if they did, I apologize in advance.....

Could Casey's remark be attributed to her telling the cat to get off the table, and not Caylee? In one of Cindy's interviews with Greta, a cat was on what appeared to be their dining room table as the interview was going on. Casey could have been talking to Jesse from the Anthony house on that day.

OME

I wrote about that the other day, after seeing the OTR interview and hearing about Casey being at the house on the 24th. Then noticing yesterday's OTR interview (I think) there was the cat right there on the table.

I feel Casey was on the phone with Jesse at that time and Casey told the cat "get off the table." Perhaps at one point the cat made a sound, leaving Jesse to think he heard Caylee. I think this is why Jesse decided he was not sure if it actually was Caylee. I am convinced it was the cat that Casey said: "get off the table".

And didn't he and Cindy both claim, after this story broke, that they hadn't seen her since she left--yet, only a couple of days ago, George suddenly recalls that he saw her on the day he needed the tire wedge?

Selective memory? Lies? Go figger.
Its the 6th George, No its the 8th for Cindy 9th for me George, no its the 9th Casey, No its the 15th Cindy, No its the 16th George and the 24th just FOR my Casey, NO ITS THE 9TH CASEY. :bang:

We watched Cindy say it repeatedly on interviews and in the Bond Hearing that she spoke or texted with Casey on a daily basis the entire time she was gone for that month supposedly.

The question is...do their phone records bear this out?

From what i remember cindy said they talked/text msg everyday but didnt talk to Caylee, Casey always told her she was with the babysitter, sleeping, etc. That wouldve set off red flags, if a child lives with you from birth, Id want to SEE her in that 4 wk time period, wouldnt you? Or at least expect her to be put on the phone to say hi to her....
I hope Caylee is OK, this must be a terrible day for the GP's.

Exactly.

Yeah Casey said she only had a minute? She asked Lee to do her a favor, call Jose the Atty. and tell him to come see her immediately. End of call.

Thanks! Do we know what this call was placed?

Was her little job prior to Caylee's birth, was she not fired in 05? Hmmmm

Its says that Casey told Jesse that Caylee was with the nanny and they had gone to the beach for the weekend.

Jesse and Casey did not go to the beach.

Orange County LE latest warrant released towards the bottom of the continuing investigation.

Did Casey called Tony that first day in jail? She was so obsessed about .

My personal opinion is no, she didn't call Tony. I say this only because she would have to make a "collect call" because she used up her "free call" when she called Cindy looking for Tony's number. Casey can't make a collect call to a cellphone, but it's possible she may have tried to reach Tony once she had money into her account to call him.

Remember Casey didn't know that her calls were being recorded so any call to Tony ... oh my, this call would have been released to the public.

I'm very close to my parents. They see my son every day. They dote on him, adore him. And he's 14!

I asked my mother the same question about my son. We were talking about this case, and I said, "Mom, what would you do if we lived with you, and I left with QAjr, and, say, after a week you had not talked to him?"

My mom, who I consider the best grandmother in the world to my son :) said, "I would tear up heaven and earth to find QAjr. When I'm used to speaking to him every day, I wouldn't let three days go by without knowing you and he were safe."

(I also asked her, "God forbid, what if I had done what Casey seems to have done. What would you do?" She said, "I'd never speak to you again, and I'd do everything I could to see that you served the rest of your life in prison.")

And my mom LOVES ME. lol. Of course, I consider it wonderful that she seems to love my son exponentially more than she loves me. :) I've certainly never felt competetive with my son for ANYONE'S love. The fact that Casey did ("They just want to find Caylee, it's all about Caylee.") speaks volumes to her narcissism, IMHO.

It's true, if you have a daughter living with you that has a child, you are involved in that childs life just as if it was your own! You can't help it.

Given the history of Casey, with all the lies I don't think the Grandmother texted everyday or spoke with her even regularly during this time period.

For whatever reason, there was a falling out.......and Casey did not have that much contact with her parents that much during this time period. If Cindy had, she would have noticed the red flags way earlier.

Anyone who has kids KNOWS you always hear them in the background.....so if she had an excuse for a couple of calls that would make sense.....but not for an entire month, not with the history of Caseys lies.......dispite the act Cindy is playing now, she is not stupid she knows when her daughter is up to something.

Indian tribes, cremation would hve to research, not sure about Wiccan

I'm not thinking that so much, but looking along the lines of if that has anything to do with the burning issue; I for one do not understand the concepts here and my research is coming up with conflicts if anyone wants to take a crack at it. *Caution to only post what your thoughts are relative to the possible burning issue, as this as a whole may have nothing to do with any other aspect of the case, dunno..

Not necessarily. Smell is a sense with a particularly good memory. I can remember the smell of my grandmother's perfume, but I can't recall the clothes she wore on particular days.

I don't see it as a double standard.

I've smelled decomposition, too. I remember vividly what it smells like. But ask me what I wore yesterday, and I couldn't tell ya.

For George to remember so well what Casey had on the day she left, he certainly forgets other details.

Our memory retention of smell is so great that it is being used with Alzheimer's patients and sometimes to help victims of violent crimes remember details that they have blocked out.
But, decomposition is a smell you remember forever!

Wonder whats up with that? Why couldn't she call him herself? Maybe she's out of phone money.

OME

If I am not mistaken, there is a way for inmates to contact their attorney without having to call someone else to make the call for them.

I wonder if LE really believes the drowning story, or if they're just using that as a "soft" method (It was an accident!) to get Casey to admit that Caylee is dead.

Once that's out of the way, they can move forward. And the state can always add to the charges down the line when the truth eventually comes out.

Fox had the story about that analyzing equipment a week ago. Bill Hemmer talked about it, but I didn't see anyone else at Fox pick up on it.

That August 2 phone call...

Brrrrrrr....anyone else feel the chill?

  • #379
Nor do I.

So why when the car was retrieved from the impound lot did it suddenly become of critical importance for Cindy and George to locate Casey immediately?

Oh, yeah. Because the car smelled like pizza and they were miffed.

Now THAT is an excellent point that further proves they were onto something from the get go. Thank you!!

If you listen to the 911 calls, it is clear Casey was missing for a month- there is no way that they were texting back in forth, puh-lease.
The flurry of calls as reported by MF is the first thing I believe in terms of actual call or cell history here.. If there was daily communication, Im sure he would have reported it.
