the cost for this is 19.95 a year to keep the chip active in the database.

There is a new dog collar that does have GPS tracking, they sell it at Costco ($150 plus subscription). Not an implant like the microchips, but imbedded in the dog collar. They have similar items for the kids stuff, I think they suggest attaching it to their shoes, but I do malamute rescue and don't have kids so I am much more up to speed on dog accessories than kid accessories.

Would love to hear more about this shoe thing for children. Any idea where I can read about it?

regardless of what everyone is saying if my dog gets lost is all i have to do is call the number i posted give them his id # and they go to there database and pull it up and tell me where he is or i can go to www.24watch.com and look online..... I have the 24PetWatch chip and the name says it i can no where my dogs is 24 hours a day!!!!

That's not what it's saying! If you call them right now, they are not going to tell you that your dog is in your house right now.

My horrible suspicions are (at this point) that Caylee was placed in a dumpster. The odds of locating any body parts would be slim to none, and even if something were found, after all this time, determining a cause of death almost impossible.
IF this is the case, and no body is recovered, will the DA take their best shot at a murder/manslaughter conviction for Casey IF their only evidence is what we currently know about?
Hopefully they have more than we are privey to, I'm just asking.

I think it would be highly unusual for a three year old child to have drugs in her system unless it would be someting like codeine used pain due to ear infection, etc. and her doctor would surely have records.

Benadryl .... over the counter and the most misused drug by parents. Normally give the child too much. Benadryl is easy obtained. as well as aspirins, cough medicine, the list is endless.

According to what you quoted from your paperwork, that's not correct.

See, the microchip contains a serial number. It doesn't "transmit" anything like a GPS would. If your pet were to go missing, someone would have to find him, take him to a vet or shelter where they would use a scanner to "read" the information (serial number) on the microchip. They would contact the company that maintains the database for your particular brand of microchip and say, "I have pet number [insert serial number information read from microchip here]". The database company would then look up your contact information that is attached to that serial number and contact you to let you know where your dog is. They can't just find your dog - someone else has to find your dog and scan the microchip. Make sense?

yes makes since and i stood to be corrected sorry....when im wrong im wrong.

I cannot believe the unmitigated gall of Cindy Anthony expecting an APOLOGY from the Sheriff!
I think Cindy owes the entire country an apology! For us having to listen to her irrational explanations, hindering the authorities from finding her granddaughter and generall behaving as if we are all fools who cant think.
Cindy, your granddaughter is dead, DNA tests dont lie. Your daughter is responsible for no one finding Caylee, she holds the key to Caylee's resting place. You cant expect LE to apologize for the TRUTH. Get over it, and yourself and face the truth.
I'm sorry, but this family infuriates me. I feel as if I am reliving the Peterson (Jackie and Lee). I cant believe the capacity of hate I have for people I have never met. And I apologize to my fellow posters for spewing forth, I had to get it out....
And of course this is all JUST MY OPINION.

Not if the mother was giving it to them to make them sleep so mommy could party.

I was thinking of drugs like Xanax, but you are quite correct. Benedryl is legal over-the-counter and often used to sedate chidren.

I looked at their website and it says it is a pet identification device. It talks about pets that get lost and can't be returned because they have no identification and this solves the problem. It does nothing to locate a lost pet, only indentify one that is found.

These aren't foolproof, but it's a help for abductions when it's known right after or child wanders in a large park or something.

whos dog is lost>im lost whats going on?

The parents appear to want GPS attached to their kids and there was a discussion about how far micro-chipping dogs has evolved. There are now external GPS systems for hunting dogs and apparently Costco has one for a reasonable price. Somebody said one kid had a dental implant. Obviously a topic near and dear to those involved and feeling the pain of missing kid cases.

Here is the link to 24 Pet Watch
http://www.24petwatch.com/index.asp

What I read, it is a microchip. When the dog is lost and found and scanned, they find the owner of the dog.

If they've had the DNA for awhile LE was very smart when they offered this limited immunity until Tuesday. They already have enough evidence to charge her regardless of if Casey tells them where the body is. It now backs Casey against the wall. If she still does not tell where the body is it only makes her case 'look' worse for trial. If it was an accident, she can only help her case now by telling where the body is.

The only element that the defense can plausibly challenge is the cause of death. Of course, Casey hasn't been charged with homicide, yet, but assuming she will be, the defense could still argue that Caylee's death was entirely accidental. LE has no hard evidence to challenge this assertion.

Of course, technically, the defense can contest anything and everything, and it probably will if there is a trial. But it appears that any other challenge would be a desperate and implausible one.

If the defense refutes the homicide, the prosecution can present her behavior after the death to argue against accidental death--the cover up, lies, etc. I think it's called consciousness of guilt--like if someone flees after a death or murder, thier behavior is used as evidence.
