Caylee Anthony General Discussion Thread #85

My feeling about George and Cindy is that unless/until there is definitive proof (for them, probably Caylee's body being found), their hearts won't let them discount the possibility -- however small -- that she might still be alive. I think that's why George made the comments about the kidnappers. He may think there's some tiny chance she really was kidnapped (even if not by the sitter) or was given away, sold, whatever. So perhaps he thinks if he can make the bad guys believe that their every move is being watched, they would be afraid to harm Caylee and might even release her.

Going that far with it (saying they know who has Caylee and that they're being watched) is more involved than necessary to ensure word gets back to Casey that the family really does still believe her. Makes me think George wants to be sure he's tried every tactic he can think of so long as there's even a whisper of a possibility that Caylee's being held by someone. If she were my grandchild, I might well cling to that one in a million possibility too. So I can't judge too harshly for his comments, ridiculous as they may seem on their face.

I think the GPs are playing both ends against the middle. They are cooperating with LE behind closed doors and at the same time are willing to continue to support Casey, either because there could be some grain of truth in Casey's story or just to get more info from her. Otherwise, they have to go emotionally where no one would want to go -- both in terms of their granddaughter's fate and their own daughter's involvement. As you can see, I'm trying really hard to justify for myself the family's peculiar behavior (which is getting more and more difficult to do). I waffle between being aggravated with them and feeling so heartbroken for them I can barely stand it.

I think Baez has reported back to Casey that the GPs are giving up evidence, talking to LE, giving the big interview to Greta, etc. -- and Casey's just plain pissed about it all, so she "punishes" the family by refusing to see them. Baez knows that wouldn't sound good if made known, so he comes up with a ridiculous excuse as to why she won't see the family.

I think the biggest mistake the family is not having beat the living daylights out of Casey until she spilled the truth...before they called LE into the mix. I think there's a damn good chance Cindy would get it out of her if left alone with her long enough.

have to respectfully disagree with the last point, though I know it ought to work that way. Casey, IMHO, had absolutely zero to litlte respect for her mother, and that's what prompted Cindy to call 911 in the first place, when she didn't sound frantic about Caylee and was really complaining about the theft of the vehicle - she couldn't get it out of Casey. thus the next 911 calls...ending in the frantic one re: caylee...:furious::furious:

If she left Caylee at the Anthony's from the 9th to the 15th, Casey may have appeared for Father's Day, a fight about needing to be a mother instead of out partying with her new friends. Casey leaves with Caylee the next morning and no one ever sees her again.
I really like that!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this:

Casey met Tony on May 24th and was moving in with him on June 9th? Presumably with Caylee in tow?

Who on earth meets someone then moves in with them some 2 weeks later? Much less with a 2-yr old child?????

The more I read the more my mind just boggles. :(
I think he was her ticket out.

I don't really understand this paragraph about Tony from this article on WESH.

http://www.wesh.com/news/17113783/detail.html

"Tony Lazzarro, Casey's boyfriend at the time of Caylee's disapperance told investigators he never saw Caylee, never heard Casey talk about searching for her daughter and said Casey was not in a panic. Lazzarro said Tuesday he will not discuss his conversation with investigators nor his interaction with Casey."

Is he denying that he EVER saw Caylee? Doesn't that conflict with his statement that he saw her on June 2nd? WESH doesn't make that clear.

I don't know if I buy that...why would Baez request the info then?

They have sent out more than one batch of stuff. They can honestly say they are waiting on DNA results without having to say they do have the initial tests results back from the trunk. Those were "due" approximately the day before the search warrant was issued.

I'm feeling Caylee wasn't dumped on the GPs, but rather it was that when Casey wanted to pick her up to leave with her the GPs got upset about it and didn't want Casey taking Caylee out of their home b/c they were afraid and/or knew Casey couldn't handle being a mother all on her own without a job, etc., and would be dragging little Caylee all over gosh knows where... so I'm entertaining the idea of a blow out between June 15-16, which somehow ended in Caylee's disappearance, which could have been with or without GPs knowledge... though I'm leaning towards GPs not really knowing what happened...:(

I think the blowup started on the 15th, continued over to the 16th, and that whatever happened to Caylee happened later, like very late on the 17th, or very early on the 18th. But, that is just my humble opinion.

I know...but ther has to be a reason why it was first reported as the 9th...mix up or no mix up.
The really odd part about the 9th is that both Casey AND Cindy miscalculated separately.
Per the police report, Casey said she dropped Caylee off on the 9th at the apt complex.
But she also says she hasn't seen her in 31 days. Date mistake...no problem, I am ok with that.

Cindy said she last saw Caylee on the 9th and then corrected herself to the 15th. She gave a very reaonable explanation at the bond hearing and I have no problem with that.

But what I have a problem with is that they BOTH made the same exact mistake seemingly independent of one another.
odd yes?

I think this happens way more often than one might think.

That is a good point. Maybe on the 15th when Cindy is making that frantic third call Cindy had already miscalculated and said "You haven't seen her since June 9th!?!?" The police arrive and Casey says the same date?

sounds premeditated IMHO...but then again, these kinds of things are possible...

They can do a DNA match in days. Now that I think of it, because no charges were filed in relation to a homicide having occurred, they wouldn't necessarily have to produce what evidence they have now unless Baez can show it does have bearing on the present charges. Hmmmmm!

The more time that passes with no information on a DNA match -- makes be believe they couldn't get a match.

Baez wants the information so he can either tell Casey the gig is up and plea -- or to tell her to keep being quiet.

Yeah, I thought of that to...but there's just something odd with the 9th...always has been and probably always will be. They also both stuck to it for days. Would probably still stick with it if it hadn't been for the tape. Still don't know if LE confirmed the video was taken on the 15th.

Snipped part for length.

I agree with you, who would want to wrap thier mind around the fact that she is most likely gone.

Cindy is asked at the bond hearing if their dates came from one another and Cindy says no IIRC.

how about the possibility of Casey and Cindy having a fight that day, too (sounds like they argued often) and both, knowing that Caylee disappeared after an argument they had, got the date wrong for that reason?
