News 13 spoke to University of Central Florida Criminal Justice Professor David Fabianic who said there are other high profile cases involving missing children, and mothers who lied to detectives.

He said there are some telltale signs that could lead investigators to believe Casey Anthony had something to do with the disappearance of her child.
"You have apparent disregard for the disappearance of this child. You have a five week period and she doesn't seem to be very moved by that. And this suggests something called consciousness of guilt," said Fabianic.
Fabianic said Casey Anthony's apparent indifference to the loss of her child could mean one of three things: 1) she is suffering from psychosis, 2) she is in shock over a traumatic event, or 3) she is hiding something.

I may have missed it, but what are the circumstances of her moving? Like did she take the childs things from her parents home? Was a bedroom set up at the boyfriends for the child? Beds, dressers, clothes, etc.
Was Caylee's things actually moved to the boyfriends apartment? And who helped move her?

They keep making fruitless pleas to the public, but their own daughter holds the key. What is wrong with this picture?

This case is weird, and FWIW Suzi I agree with you. Something IS wrong with this picture. I understand that the grandparents are also parents of Casey, BUT there is a missing child here. It's time the grandparents stop trying to protect Casey and get to the real business of finding Calee. Casey has the clue. They need to give her truth serum or something to get her talking, and the grandparents need to stop protecting her and come out with the truth. I think GPs are too concerned with their own image as parents and are trying to protect their own reputation as parents to come forward and tell what they know about their daughter. Calee's rights trump Casey's rights. They can't have it both ways.:mad:

I don't believe this BS for a minute! IF this chick was telling her attorney the truth, they wouldn't be telling people to look in:

http://www.wesh.com/news/16923607/detail.html

Miami, New York City, Brooklyn, New York and Charlotte, North Carolina

What is this attorney trying to do anyway? Work up billable hours! Who the heck does she thinks flipping the bill for this anyway?

Pffttt,
fran

I'm just trying to catch up on today's thread........

I think it's already been proven that what Casey says cannot be trusted as the truth. She lied about leaving Caylee with the babysitter at that apartment house, and it turned out that no such person ever rented an apartment at that building, and that the apartment Casey said she took Caylee to has been vacant since February. Casey lied about her employment and her two co-workers. It turned out that Casey had been fired two years ago and the two co-workers she said would back her up don't exist.

Nothing Casey has stated so far has been the truth, and I can't see sending investigators to NYC and other places without concrete proof that those places need be investigated. Certainly not because Casey says to check them.

Ahh, I don't really blame the grandparents. Everything their daughter has said has turned out to be a lie. So it is probably hopeless to think of getting the truth from her. Which means that either someone else has the child or the unthinkable has happened. So of course the grandparents are going to plead for someone to step forward. Because if no one else has the grandchild- they have lost her. I would be hoping someone would step forward and say they had her or they saw her too.

IIRC The grandmother said Casey was taking Caylee with her to work for a short period in Tampa and then onto a mini vacation. She also said something about Casey wanting a bonding time with Caylee...
I don't think the Grandmother was under the impression Casey was truly "moving" out as much as going away for a while...The Grandmothers blog on the 3rd of July makes me think by this point it had already been a few weeks since she seen the baby and was begining to feel Casey "took her away" Maybe in some of her phone calls with Casey, Casey was resistant to coming back and even harsh with the mom about leaving her alone or something (probably because Caylee was already gone by this point)

If the boyfriend reports Casey came and stayed with him from June 9th on, and the grandfather claims June 9th was the last time he seen Casey and Caylee together (I believe he said getting into the car) this probably had to be the day something happened...
I know there was one friend who claimed to be with Casey and Caylee on either the 12, 13, or 14th of June...but I wonder if her recollection about this date is correct...

Just some of the thoughts I have had...

From all that we know about this case, it appears that Casey and Caylee left her parent's home on June 9th and moved in with Casey's boyfriend. Yet, most of Caylee's belongings remain at the home of her grandparent's, George and Cindy Anthony. Casey's boyfriend states that he was told the nanny story too, so evidently he hasn't seen Caylee since Casey and Caylee left the grandparent's home. At the beginning of this case I think he stated that the last time he saw Caylee was June 2nd.

It appears that the decision to leave her parent's home on June 9th was a sudden decision, not one that Casey had planned out. Did Casey argue with her parents and leave in anger? Since no one has verified that Caylee was seen after June 9th, it would appear that something happened to Caylee within the first 24 hours after leaving her grandparent's home.

The grandparents have said that they'd talk to Casey on the phone and ask to speak with Caylee, but were always told that Caylee was with the babysitter. They didn't question that, except perhaps between themselves. Perhaps they felt they were being put off because Casey was angry with them and withholding Caylee from them.

Then the grandparents received a phone call from a towing company that their car, that Casey drove, had been abandoned in a parking lot. Cindy Anthony went to the towing company and found the address of the boyfriend in the car. Did she have an extra set of keys for the car or was it unlocked?

We've heard that there's a terrible stench coming from that abandoned car. Cindy Anthony certainly would have notice the terrible odor in the car as she searched for the boyfriend's address. That odor may have been a compelling factor in confronting Casey about Caylee's whereabouts. Cindy knew something was wrong.

When Casey couldn't produce Caylee, Cindy contacted the police and filed a missing child report, and that brings us to where we are today.

The only part of what's been reported that I can't understand is Casey going to her parent's home when they were away, and borrowing a neighbor's shovel. She returned the shovel in an hour, and that's not enough time to bury a body. What was she doing in her parent's backyard with a shovel when her parents weren't home?

The best possible outcome is for Caylee to be found safe and returned to her grandparent's care, but I don't feel that's going to happen. I think Caylee is deceased, and died shortly after leaving her grandparent's home. I don't think we'll ever hear the truth about what happened from Casey's lips. The truth will be determined by forensics done on the abandoned car or by finding Caylee's body.

This is a very sad case.....................

Gma has an answer for everything. Her daughter decided to do heavy yardwork on a house she no longer lived at, without being asked, while the parents were gone?

http://www.wftv.com/news/16924162/detail.html

(snip)
Caylee's grandmother, Cynthia Anthony, said the shovel was for yard work and said Casey didn't have keys to the family tool shed.

"We have bamboo growing in our backyard. The only way to get rid of it is to use a shovel," Cynthia told Eyewitness News.

not to mention.....with the obvious landscaping at the family home I am sure they had to have a freaking shovel... why borrow one????!!!!

I admit to not following this case very closely right now, but I still say the grandmother knows a lot more than she is telling and the grandfather doesn't know anything. He is completely at a loss about all of this. Every time I catch glimpses of grandmother on tv...I am not seeing this caring, loving kind of person who you guys seem to be describing as being her.

A cadaver dog could have put to rest the idea that the stench in the car was in fact Caylee and she was dead. Couldn't it?

I think Caylee is probably dead and it is possible that the grandmother did it pushing Casey over the edge. Casey may have borrowed the shovel to look for Caylee...not to bury her.

OMG, I just saw this case on Nancy Grace last night - the world continues to revolve around me, and I am oblivious to most things going on - duh - this case is in Tampa - my area - and this is the first I have heard of it. Guess I will spend part of the day reading up on this.

I was thinking the same thing but grama says that Casey didn't have the keys to the shed. How convenient.

So, Casey came over while no one was home, unprepared, and did a good deed? All while working an active investigation into her daughters disappearance too.:waitasec:

I haven't had time to read the entire thread but I have been following this case on the local news. I know it will end badly for everyone involved and the mother will be the one responsible. I just know it. There is no way that woman is not involved; either she intentionally or accidentally killed her child or stood by while she was killed by someone else.

I hate these cases. The idea that the person who should love you the most is the one harming you or failing to protect you...this is why I don't come here much anymore. It's the violence mothers do to their children that just kills me.

I know that this is a radical thought, but local posters like POCO-if there is a chance that the Sawgrass Apartments, the lake near it, the location of the car might be within "striking" distance from you and you have free time, can you check out the scenes and see if there is LE activity? I still think they are being closed mouthed about other locations they may be vetting, and it would be very helpful to us to know if there is seriously a search and recovery effort, or they are truly looking for little Caylee's body...am I making sense?

I just noticed the tag for Caylee's father asking where he was...he died in a car accident...in case someone hadn't mentioned it.

I wish I had more time to check it out. I will do some checking, but am leaving for vacation in a few days and have tons to do. I'm 20 minutes from the Tampa airport...... will goggle Sawgrass Apartments.

I think a lot of things the grandmother has said are very "convenient". We know Casey has problems...severe problems it sounds to me like. Did those come from her mother? It is something to consider.

Ok. Where do people from Florida go to visit? I've always wondered about that.
I pray that Caylee is found, but it doesn't look good. Also, that smirk smile that Caylee's mom had on her face, appearred to be"I know a secret" or maybe she was jealous of Caylee's relationship with the grandmother and took the child from her.

OT, but I used to live in PA - moved to Florida and damn if I didn't say the same thing - where do people who live in Florida go for vacation. This is where we came all the time for vacationi when we lived in Pa. Now we go to PA to see family. Kinda sucks that you have to spend your day's off visiting family who live in PA - be nice if they lived in Hawaii.
