Read the last page (second paragraph) of the arrest affidavit:
http://www.wftv.com/download/2008/0717/16907762.pdf (first few sentences of second paragraph)

So, Casey had a seizure earlier in the year? Okay, couple that with her story about the deceased boyfriend/bio-dad of Caylee’s who Casey states died in an automobile accident. First off, no one has been able to confirm that Caylee’s dad is indeed deceased.

Nonetheless, if he is deceased and Cindy (grandma) was struggling to pay medical bills and such for Casey and Caylee – Added to the fact that Caylee was known to steal from friends….why didn’t Cindy or Casey ever attempt to collect social security from the bio-dad’s car accident for Caylee?

Makes you wonder with all the lies this girl has woven if she is a pathological liar, if she was in the car accident and suffered a head injury, or is just plain crazy. JMO.

Also, has anyone heard about the paternal relatives? This, of course, is considering Casey knows who Caylee's bio-dad is and that he did indeed die in a car accident.

I'm thinking that she may not know who the dad is. JMO

OMG, I just saw this case on Nancy Grace last night - the world continues to revolve around me, and I am oblivious to most things going on - duh - this case is in Tampa - my area - and this is the first I have heard of it. Guess I will spend part of the day reading up on this.

Baynews9 didn't start reporting the case till yesterday, Poco.

Caylee is missing from Orlando. Her Mom, Casey, told her parents that she was coming to Tampa because of a job.

The grandparents are gonna be on the Today Show it just said

From all that we know about this case, it appears that Casey and Caylee left her parent's home on June 9th and moved in with Casey's boyfriend. Yet, most of Caylee's belongings remain at the home of her grandparent's, George and Cindy Anthony. Casey's boyfriend states that he was told the nanny story too, so evidently he hasn't seen Caylee since Casey and Caylee left the grandparent's home. At the beginning of this case I think he stated that the last time he saw Caylee was June 2nd.

It appears that the decision to leave her parent's home on June 9th was a sudden decision, not one that Casey had planned out. Did Casey argue with her parents and leave in anger? Since no one has verified that Caylee was seen after June 9th, it would appear that something happened to Caylee within the first 24 hours after leaving her grandparent's home.

The grandparents have said that they'd talk to Casey on the phone and ask to speak with Caylee, but were always told that Caylee was with the babysitter. They didn't question that, except perhaps between themselves. Perhaps they felt they were being put off because Casey was angry with them and withholding Caylee from them.

Then the grandparents received a phone call from a towing company that their car, that Casey drove, had been abandoned in a parking lot. Cindy Anthony went to the towing company and found the address of the boyfriend in the car. Did she have an extra set of keys for the car or was it unlocked?

We've heard that there's a terrible stench coming from that abandoned car. Cindy Anthony certainly would have notice the terrible odor in the car as she searched for the boyfriend's address. That odor may have been a compelling factor in confronting Casey about Caylee's whereabouts. Cindy knew something was wrong.

When Casey couldn't produce Caylee, Cindy contacted the police and filed a missing child report, and that brings us to where we are today.

The only part of what's been reported that I can't understand is Casey going to her parent's home when they were away, and borrowing a neighbor's shovel. She returned the shovel in an hour, and that's not enough time to bury a body. What was she doing in her parent's backyard with a shovel when her parents weren't home?

The best possible outcome is for Caylee to be found safe and returned to her grandparent's care, but I don't feel that's going to happen. I think Caylee is deceased, and died shortly after leaving her grandparent's home. I don't think we'll ever hear the truth about what happened from Casey's lips. The truth will be determined by forensics done on the abandoned car or by finding Caylee's body.

This is a very sad case.....................

good post, but there is a report from a friend of casey's that she went for a walk with casey and caylee on June 12th 13th or 14th, and there has been mention that casey leaving the house was planned, at least for a short time, before she actually left.

and im not trying to be argumentative here, but you certainly could bury an infant's body in an hour, i dont think she did so because it wouldnt have been very deep and they would have discovered it yesterday, but being an avid gardener and home repair buff, i have dug my fair share of holes, and in anything other than very hard soil/clay you can dig a hole deep enough to bury a "small package" very quickly.

again i want to stress - good post and im not trying to pick it apart, just offering my opinion. :)

So what did Cindy mean by Casey fears that there maybe harm to Cindy or Caylee if Casey tells where Caylee is?

This was said on the Today Show..

We are all about opinions here, so no worries-I always enjoy other's perspectives and corrections of my recollection of events surrounding a case...can't speak for others-that is just me!

I love the OT btw regarding where people from FL vacation...

The bottom line is we have an abandoned vehicle that reportedly has a stench, a mom who is clearly a habitual liar calling into question anything that comes out of her mouth, and grandparents filling up the airways with media interviews in the hopes their Caylee is alive and happy in the hands of someone who does not know that this is a situation that has gone terribly, terribly wrong. Although I understand and appreciate the wilieness of Casey's attorney to imply that she would speak with police if she were out of jail, the fact of the matter is that she can take care of this whole mess by spitting out the truth and producing her daughter.

Another layer to justify why she will not tell-imagine how desperately her parents want to believe that she is just trying to protect them or her child....

Why would LE believe Casey would tell the truth once she was out of jail. She hasn't told the truth yet.

I hope LE doesn't fall for that BS.

If they do let her out, I hope they'll keep her under close supervision so she doesn't take the secret to her grave like Melinda Duckett!

Yeah, it helps to stay focused so you can keep your lies straight.

http://www.cfnews13.com/News/Local/2008/7/19/caylee_search_hits_street.html

(snip)
For the first time, we're hearing from Casey Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez, who said there are other suspects in the case.

In addition, Baez said he plans to reveal evidence that will exonerate Anthony once they get their time in court.
Meanwhile, a motion was filed Thursday to get her bonded out of jail after a judge denied her first request this week.
He said Anthony has undergone psychological counseling while behind bars, but mental illness is not a factor in her defense.

Baez said Anthony's first priority is finding her daughter, despite some sensationalized media reports.
"She's doing her best to keep it together and to assist in any way she possibly can because now is not the time to lose it,” said Baez. “She needs her composure and her ability to think so it can best help Caylee."
Baez said he is outraged that Anthony is still in jail considering she has not been charged in connection with her daughter's disappearance or harming her in any way.

I think she should be shackled to the attorney 24/7.

This Casey really p*sses me off. It's obvious she murdered her baby girl & the more lies she spews from her nasty mouth it seems like people are falling for it...what a con-artist. She don't fool me.

  • #216
Wondering: Why such an unbelievable story? Couldn't Casey have staged something more believable? That's what is bothering me about this whole thing. She had plenty of time to come up with a better lie than the one she did. It just doesn't make sense to me.

  • #217
I HOPE Casey doesn't succeed in getting out of jail. I wish, too, there wasn't a lawyer in the picture to keep her insulated from skillful interogation.

I DON'T think Casey borrowed a shovel to do yardwork. She may have changed her mind about leaving Caylee in the grandparent's backyard. But, I doubt she made a visit while her parents were gone (we know they weren't there) and HAD to dig bamboo so bad right THEN she went to the neighbors for a shovel.

I don't know whether Casey did something to her daughter accidently or on purpose.

I think the grandparents suspect a lot but want very desperately to have their suspicions not be true.

Read the comments on Casey's myspace and from Casey to brother and friends on myspace. Up until May Casey sounds like a doting mother. Her friends call her a good mother. She may have been a liar, but if she wasn't good with Caylee more people than Casey's grandparents were fooled.

IMO

Based on the smell in the car, I'd say she most likely died there, maybe strapped in her seat while her "mother" went in a bar.

Now Casey is trapped in her lies and afraid to tell the truth.

I just don't understand and I guess I never will. If she really just "gave" her to someone she should've cracked now!

Maybe she wasn't burying something, but rather digging something up. Perhaps the child was killed at the house, then buried there, she removed the body when the parents weren't home.

Interesting thought, I'd think the cadaver dogs would've picked up on that instead of LE saying there were "abnormalities" in the soil. They were cadaver dogs right?
