If they do let her out, I hope they'll keep her under close supervision so she doesn't take the secret to her grave like Melinda Duckett!

Me too, Lurker!

Melinda was being tailed. There were cars not far from her grandparent's house when she took her life.

IIRC Melinda had money in her bra as well as her computer and clothes and her own gun in her car. She put the suicide notes and $900 in her car. I've always wondered if Melinda didn't consider making a run for it and suicide was the backup plan. Or maybe she was planning to go elsewhere to commit suicide and the patrol cars changed her mind.

My point about Melinda, is that it would be VERY hard to prevent Casey from killing herself if she is determined to do so.

Looks to me like Casey has her parents conned.

I don't want another mother taking her own life and all of her secrets going with her.

Exactly! If they do let Casey out, she should have someone (LE) by her side at ALL times.

I really think that sweet, beautiful little girl is gone, her mother is just too much of a coward to admit it.

This lawyer is outraged!?

I am outraged over this poor excuse for a mother! She KNOWS what she did with her precious daughter.

Now, SPIT IT OUT!

I hope they keep her in jail for as LONG as they are able to LEGALLY!

Where is Caylee?

:(
fran

Yeah, it helps to stay focused so you can keep your lies straight.

(snip)
For the first time, we're hearing from Casey Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez, who said there are other suspects in the case.

In addition, Baez said he plans to reveal evidence that will exonerate Anthony once they get their time in court.
Meanwhile, a motion was filed Thursday to get her bonded out of jail after a judge denied her first request this week.
He said Anthony has undergone psychological counseling while behind bars, but mental illness is not a factor in her defense.

Baez said Anthony's first priority is finding her daughter, despite some sensationalized media reports.
"She's doing her best to keep it together and to assist in any way she possibly can because now is not the time to lose it,” said Baez. “She needs her composure and her ability to think so it can best help Caylee."
Baez said he is outraged that Anthony is still in jail considering she has not been charged in connection with her daughter's disappearance or harming her in any way.

The "profiler" part of me thinks perhaps Casey was jealous of all the attention Caylee was getting from the grandmother(Caseys) mom.

This is one of the things I picked up from the body language of Casey when she went into court. She was trying to hold back a smile. VERY VERY strange. It appeared as if she was thrilled at the attention.

Does anyone know if Casey is an only child?

Wondering: Why such an unbelievable story? Couldn't Casey have staged something more believable? That's what is bothering me about this whole thing. She had plenty of time to come up with a better lie than the one she did. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Recently I watched "talking heads" discussing Neil Entwistle. According to the "experts" murderers put lots of thought into the how and cleaning up, but no thought into afterwards. Many are arrogant sociopaths used to having their lies believed.

Casey was able to keep her family from finding her or calling social services with lies for over a month.

When her mom got the address from the car and "just showed up", I think she was kind of caught with her "pants down" and had to wing stories.

Remember first she told her mom that they couldn't get Caylee because Caylee was asleep at the babysitters. It was only after mom said "get her anyway" that Casey came up with the babysitter story.

IMO

Did Casey even have a job? How did she pay for this mysterious babysitter?

I think she is whacked out big time. I think she's so used to everyone believing her unbelievable stories, she thought it would work this time. And it is. On her parents, the attorney they hired. I'm recalling the frustration from LE at the presser yesterday regarding further questioning of Casey. I don't remember the exact words. It was something along the lines of "she had the chance to tell us what she needed to before she was arrested. If she comes up with something then we'll address that." Sounds to me LE has come to terms that they will get nothing but lies from Casey.

What really has me riled up is this case, is the gparents and the attorney are more concerned about protecting Casey and getting her out of jail, than it is about finding Caylee.

Thats a little confusing "get her anyway". why not "i'll go get her" from the g'mother.

I think she is very pleased with herself. I think Casey has a brother.

good question. of course she stole that money from her friend.

I don't think she had a babysitter or job.

I think Casey was afraid to tell her parents she didn't really have a job so was going somewhere and doing something during work hours.

I thought maybe she was taking Caylee to the park. But my daughter said that wouldn't work because Casey would have to explain not having money.

She thought maybe Casey was selling "herself" and leaving Caylee in the car.

Not saying this happened. But, Casey had to be going somewhere with Caylee when she was supposed to be working. Even if she just went to the park with her daughter, she had a "secret life" people close to her didn't know about.

That might explain something "happening" to Caylee.

Sounds plausible. That would also explain the stench in the car, Caylee died in the heat and Casey disposed of her body but never said anything, now she feels her odds are better if she keeps with this story than actually telling the truth.

That is, if she's even capable of telling the truth.

Has LE checked her bank or cell phone records? If she had a babysitter, she could've paid by check.

  • #235
Is it me, or does anyone else see where it appears Casey was planting evidence?

Why leave a car abandoned if you're still in town? She already induced the lies that she was gonna be out of town but she didn't go anywhere.

She was using her friend's car, but had a nice car her mother was letting her use, that she just left sitting in a parking lot.

It sure looks as if she was trying to throw LE off while the person(s) who may have Caylee were getting far away from the area.

If this 'babysitter/nanny' had been keeping Caylee for the last 1 1/2 years, the g'parents would have surely known her, being as they lived with them.

It occurred to me that the name given as the babysitter's name, might be a real person, but it could be an enemy to the real person who may have Caylee.

I can't see any feasible reason why Casey would get upset with her parents, move out and refuse to let them see their grandbaby, then go back and decide to do yard work while they were away.. no effin way! Maybe she was digging, but not to hide a body. It very well could have been some'thing' she hid before and went back to get it.

I know what I'd like to do with that shovel...

Good possibility.

I feel sorry for the grandparents. They love both their daughter and their granddaughter. Unfortunately they are not helping their granddaughter by protecting their daughter. I wish they would just be upfront with what they know about Casey and her background and the father of the child.

I'd also raised the questions a few days ago about the father and paternal g'parents. There has never been mention of those g'parents. Given that their son was killed in an accident and left behind a beautiful baby girl, nothing should stop them from being all up in this little girl's life. I'm betting Casey and her parents didn't want to 'share' Caylee with anyone, and never told this paternal family anything of Caylee's existence. After all, they all do have the same last name.

I have been reading this for a bit and saw the affidavit online and I just wanted to post my observations.

1) The babysitter, Zenaida Gonzalez, there is more then 1 person with this name. They only interviewed 1, there are 3 in Florida alone that have myspaces.
2) The Zenaida that LE talked to and Casey both agreed that they did not know each other.
3) She lied about the job, where the babysitter lived, among many other things.
4)It does say in the affidavit that she admitted to these lies but insists that this person Zenaida has the child.
5)The car smell, not sure what the smell smelled like but I have a 19 month old and just leaving apple juice or a diaper in the car for 1 day can cause a very putrid odor that reeks when you open the door.

If I have any of this incorrect please let me know.

I believe she could be alive and that there really is some one named Zenaida that has this child or knows where the child is. This could be drug related and she owed money to a dealer and they took the child(I have seen stories of this in Florida before) or she sold Caylee to this Zenaida because she was desperate for money and this maybe why she is not talking now because she has run out of lies and doesnt know how to tell LE or her family that she committed another crime and that the child was payment in one form or another.

JMO and please let me know what you think.

Maybe Caylee's father never even knew about her? Maybe someone Casey knew died in a car crash so he conveniently became a scapegoat and no one else has a claim in Caylee.

Or there's also the possibility that she has no idea who the father even is.
