Uhoh. is this all the info? Not wanting to jump the gun but there is only a tiny LE contact info on there? No crime stoppers reward? This is BIZARRE. Taking donations but no fund set up?

I don' know that I would be contributing any time soon...in their defense there is not a handbook of how to handle the search and recovery of a child...the media is doing their best to get the word out there but Casey is pretty much hampering the commitment most people would be making I would think.

If LE were looking for help with the search, I suspect they would be validating more of the actions the grandparents are taking....

The no reward thing and no fund is really suprising.

Bingo, there's so much here that is amiss. It is usually one or other in terms of the press, Im guessing nobody in LE is talking because they are at a loss right now. I also think they are putting some folks under surveillance, the old give them enough rope...

ICAM. It's too easy to say "I'd do this" or "I'd never do that" when you're not in the situation. This is her daughter. I don't think there is anything my daughters could do that would make me stop loving them.

I will always love my children no matter what......that said, I don't have to like what they've done. I've always tried giving them there wings to fly & have trusted my parenting skills enough that they know right from wrong.

If you TRULY believed this kid was kidnapped- a reward would be mandatory to progress the case quickly- LE would have told the family that.

Hi there

I might be wrong, but from the way I read the request for donations, it was for flier donations. So I took that to mean if someone is willing to help provide and print fliers, such as local companies, Kinkos, etc. I did not read it to mean they were asking for actual money.

From Posting:

We are taking flier donations of any amount. To coordinate how fliers can be picked up in the greater Orlando area please contact Caylee's uncle, Lee Anthony, at 407-808-5132. You may also contact Lee Anthony via email at [email protected] (two a's). We also are encouraging any flier donations to be delivered or shipped to.....

As to how or why there was a piece of rotting pizza in the trunk I can tell a similar story. A few months back a friend and I went out to lunch and we had fish. She had a left over salad that had smoked fish on it (YUCKO) and she took the salad in the to go container and put it in the trunk of my car. When I took her back to my house she forgot to take that fish out of my trunk and I didn't remember it either. A week or 2 later I smell this horrendous smell in my car! And it didn't smell like fish. It was that horrible old salad with the smoked fish in my trunk. YUCK. So there is nothing really suspicious about old pizza in the trunk.

You may be correct I think, thanks for the clarification

I do think the Gram is maligning this search with her BS, but I do not believe for a second that she would help Casey with a ruse if she knew she killed Kaylee. There is no possibility she would let that child be "out there" (being sensitive) indefinately. The most telling thing I heard her say was something like "people have to process these things in their own way"
when asked why she can't get a straight answer out of her kid. That speaks volumes to me. She may not be willing to admit to her herself yet, but she knows already.

Remember, she left the house, went back when they were away, shed was locked- this girl had a substance abuse problem, period.

Exactly, the girl had problems. Obvious ones that her parents are now denying to the hilt. There is nothing other than Gma saying she got the letter about the car and that started the ball rolling. Kinda like the bamboo story and the phone call story and the pizza story. At this point, especially after the revelation that LE did not know about the "phone call", that I will take anything Gma says as the truth.

Oh, I agree completely. I don't see Cindy saying she likes any of Casey's actions here. I just see her saying "let's talk about Caylee instead of Casey." Now, of course that's not really possible in this case, but I understand her instinct.

I find grandma highly suspicious. First of all they spread the word that caylee hadn't been seen since June 9 and they never mention a phone call and now they claim she called last tuesday??? Makes absolutely no sense that they didn't tell the cops that. Of course I don't know why grandma would believe anything from Casey who hasn't told 1 ounce of truth since this started. I am beginning to wonder if this GM isn't in on the whole thing. She doesn't look all that concerned either. She looks like a big liar too. And shifty. The first thing I noticed about her on Nancy Grace is that she is very shifty and careful of every word. A dishonest type of person. Only dishonest people have to be careful of every work they speak. That family needs to let it all out. Just speak out about everything. That daughter and the grandmother. Pretty soon GM is going to lawyer up too.

I don't think you can compare fish with pizza. Fish smells whether it's fresh or not.

ETA: lol, I need more coffee. I get what your are saying...how food ends up in the trunk and not about comparing smells. Duh, I'm off to get more coffee. I apologize!

I think if the pizza was planted in the trunk on purpose to throw LE off, she would have picked something stinkier. Personally Casey doesn't strike me as "smart" enough to try to plant evidence or throw LE off anyway.

From http://www.local6.com/news/16933286/detail.html

(snip)
Meanwhile, Caylee's grandmother, Cindy Anthony, said she believes the missing girl called her mother the day the 22-year-old was arrested, Local 6 reported. She said she is convinced the child is still alive."Casey got a phone call (saying) 'Hi mommy' for just a brief second," Anthony said. "And when Casey said, 'Put an adult on the phone Caylee,' the phone went dead.'"
(/snip)

I have been suspicious of this report of a phone call - if no one was there, it's Casey's word and we all know that's not worth a lot right now. But Gma almost makes it sound like she was there and has first-hand knowledge of the call. Has she confirmed whether she was there when this call came in?

My other, more horrifying thought was that perhaps a call did come in, but it was a crank - their numbers are plastered all over Myspace, after all. It wouldn't be unthinkable, unfortunately, for someone to call and pretend to be Caylee. Yuck.

I agree...every story is convoluted. She's real good at spinning tales herself. When Giraldo finished the interview with her, he had a segment with law enforcement. GM asked to be put back on the air to refute something they said. They tried to get back to her, but there was trouble with the sound. Does anyone know if they did get the sound working? I got busy.

This entire scenario stinks......
A child just isn't kidnapped then over a month later whoops she is gone....someone decided to call LE!
There doesn't seem to be any co-operation with LE at all.
Moms in jail.....Grandma is screaming for help yet only on her terms!

I'm beginning to think the whole dang bunch needs locked up until they all talk!

I would like to see a LE comment on that particular development, I'm not convinced yet it is attributable to any source unless I missed it.

I equate the possibility that she might make that up as an effort to drum up volunteers and progress finding Caylee. It's almost like her stories sync with new advice or learning how an MP case works and is investigated.
I do not know for the life of me why her attorney has not shut her up, period; unless it's an effort to confuse exactly who the suspect is.
