I have been suspicious of this report of a phone call - if no one was there, it's Casey's word and we all know that's not worth a lot right now. But Gma almost makes it sound like she was there and has first-hand knowledge of the call. Has she confirmed whether she was there when this call came in?

My other, more horrifying thought was that perhaps a call did come in, but it was a crank - their numbers are plastered all over Myspace, after all. It wouldn't be unthinkable, unfortunately, for someone to call and pretend to be Caylee. Yuck.

Interesting thought. It's sad their are so many sicko's out there. However, the call came in on Tuesday, that's the day they went to LE and Casey was arrested the next day. So I don't think the public had knowledge that Caylee was missing at that time.

A child just isn't kidnapped then over a month later whoops she is gone....someone decided to call LE!
There doesn't seem to be any co-operation with LE at all.
Moms in jail.....Grandma is screaming for help yet only on her terms!

I'm beginning to think the whole dang bunch needs locked up until they all talk!

Now that's what Im talkin bout Cheko!! Great idea.. Seriously, I would not be surprised to see that family all in for questioning by tomorrow.

I agree...every story is convoluted. She's real good at spinning tales herself. When Giraldo finished the interview with her, he had a segment with law enforcement. GM asked to be put back on the air to refute something they said. They tried to get back to her, but there was trouble with the sound. Does anyone know if they did get the sound working? I got busy.

Whenever I see that in missing person cases, I always think that all they want is to make the appearance of trying to find someone, but they really don't want to find someone. They want to control the search so the truth isn't discovered.

Thanks! I was a bit stunned when she almost slipped with "What are you friggin kidding me?" How can you NOT talk about Casey when she was the last known person with her? My impression, GM was being mighty defensive

Love the word...caught the request...if you know GM like I'm getting to know GM...this is par for the course. I truly believe LE is trying to distance themselves from the family (GPs)...one reason IMO they're isolating Casey from them...they know the stories are wacked.


ETA...and that includes the GPs. Please forgive me, I can't imagine the pain these people must be feeling...but GM is very self-serving...and IMO would help the 'cause if she appointed a family spokesperson as a previous poster suggested.

You are right, it happens all the time. I keep thinking this kid has told so many lies and abused this families trust to badly, I really do not believe that the Gram disbelieves she gave this kid away, especially if she does have a serious dependence problem. I personally think the Gram thinks that she may have sold her- she's capable. It supposedly happened when the parents were away, thus, no help or stuff to steal. Im not prepared to say she is in collusion, I am prepared to see she's in denial and I would imagine scared to death about what is coming next.
She strikes me as the kind of person protecting the dirty laundry because it makes her look like a bad Mom herself, imo..

For the record (hopping onto the soapbox) if my child accidentally killed my grandchild, I would lose my mind, but stand by my child as they faced the punishment for what they did. I would not conceal the truth for any reason, however, I NEVER would have let it get this far. I know everyone says that, but I have the benefit like all of you on here, to know that this type of thing CAN and DOES happen, and I would protect my grandchild at all costs, period.

Thanks SuziQ - that article I linked reported that the call came in "the day Casey was arrested" (she was arrested Wednesday evening) but most (or all) of the others report that it came on Tuesday, the day before her arrest.

I truly hope no one would be so cruel, and I definitely lean toward believing that the phone call is another of Casey's stories. I would not even put it past Casey (from all the lies I've read about) to ring her own phone and pretend the whole thing, right in front of her mother.

Yes, unfortunately I think she is trying to hide her body from everyone.
