This is torturous. Thank you to those who are posting. I, too have a daughter who's always been a good girl but who recently is falling off the edge of the world. This could be my backyard they're digging in, someday. Heartbreaking.
I do understand why gm may still be saying defensive things about her daughter. I try to defend my daughter's actions to my dh and it's only when he gives me *that* look sometimes, that I realize I've been duped.
