CDC Admits 98 Million Americans Received Polio Vaccine Contaminated With Cancer Viru

Also - my mom was born in '44... Would she have received this vax? I'm not familiar with what age they would have been given at back then.

Dr Salk was a hero.

http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/salk-announces-polio-vaccine

In 1954, clinical trials using the Salk vaccine and a placebo began on nearly two million American schoolchildren.

. In 1962, an oral vaccine developed by Polish-American researcher Albert Sabin became available, greatly facilitating distribution of the polio vaccine.

Jonas Salk - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On May 6, 1985, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed that day to be "Jonas Salk Day." His proclamation read, in part:

One of the greatest challenges to mankind always has been eradicating the presence of debilitating disease. Until just thirty years ago poliomyelitis occurred in the United States and throughout the world in epidemic proportions, striking tens of thousands and killing thousands in our own country each year. Dr. Jonas E. Salk changed all that. This year we observe the 30th anniversary of the licensing and manufacturing of the vaccine discovered by this great American. Even before another successful vaccine was discovered, Dr. Salk's discovery had reduced polio and its effects by 97 percent. Today, polio is not a familiar disease to younger Americans, and many have difficulty appreciating the magnitude of the disorder that the Salk vaccine virtually wiped from the face of the Earth.[59]

My dad had a friend that got polio from getting the shot. IIRC the vaccine had to be kept refrigerated and in the shipping process some where along the route temperature was not maintained. I always remember him as having a good sense of humor.

Sugar cubes...that's why I never tried LSD

I got the vaccine twice in one day. They gave it to us in kindergarten and when my mom took my toddler brothers over I got in line because I wanted that sugar cube again. In the shuffle they gave it to me again.

Never did acid, but I am trippy. Maybe it was that cube, man.

GL, honestly I don't think they did. However, they got hit up for everything else thus that generation having that big *** scar on their arm.

O/T, but not, but I had I think she was a biochem professor who told us that HIV was birthed via the polio vaccine. Did anyone else ever hear that?

Actually, I was just now reading about that, weird. What I read said the Hepatitis B vac spread HIV back in the '70's. iirc

I have that scar on my arm from 1965----and of course it doesn't tan which makes it stick out like a sore thumb, even when I have a little bit of color!
My own mother asked me the other day what it was-----"Mom, you were the one that was there sending me to the demon injectors" was my response. Then she added that she wasn't sure but either me or my brother had to be injected twice 'cause something happened when they were doing it. UGH!

Anywhoo-----very, very recently I had to get new vaccines for a reason OR get blood titres done to see if I was still immunized against some of the "buggers". I had my vaccine paperwork from 1965 & had the titres done. INcredibly, they showed I was still totally immune so no need for more vaccines. The Doctor's were shocked.

Maybe I did get the second injection dose?

That would explain my posts, now wouldn't it?

Unfortunately my siblings and I all got the vaccine. My older brother has had cancer as does my younger sister.

Before the vaccine, polio was a rampant disease. My mom's cousin had it. She caught it in the 40's and spent the rest of her life in a wheel chair. It affected a lot of children.

O - M - G! - gotta go read...

Wonder how it affected that generation?

FWIW, I lost a step-parent to 'Agent Orange' contamination. j/s

I'm one of "that generation." First I find out I was exposed to Camp LeJeune water. Now I find out about this. Guess I'm a sitting duck.

Its all BS, imo.

Dave Mihalovic. He is one of those anti science, anti vaccine people.

I agree with you that the issue of vaccines is always fraught with controversy. Sabin and Salk were lifesavers for those of us in our late 40's and beyond. There are STILL people living in a machine called an iron lung. Does not operate like the modern mechanical ventilators do.. Barbaric devices in the 21st century and a fate so terrible I cannot imagine.

OTOH, I do not want Mesothelioma or Osteosarcoma. I had the oral sugar cube polio vaccine when I was 5 years old. It may or may not have been the live vaccine due to the date being right at the cut-off period for the contamination with monkey renal cancer cells.

Respectfully,
Maria

Here's a fairly brief and easy to understand Wiki entry on SV-40.
SV40 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

IMO, since research produced the anti-viral medications to stop HIV from becoming full blown AIDS, then research can produce a specific anti-viral to eradicate or INACTIVATE SV-40 from human cells.

Bouncing off post #33 above, I spent some years volunteering and then working in a hospital. I happened to see an ancient iron lung in a little-used area. It gave me a cold chill, as I immediately knew what it was. Polio was a very big thing in years past. Folks tried to avoid crowds in the summer so as to minimize possible exposure.

Yes, the discovery of a vaccine was very big.

The big *** scar is from smallpox vaccination NOT polio. It is not given any longer as smallpox has been eradicated from the US. fwiw

From the "realfarmacy.com" website:
"Many authorities now admit much, possibly most, of the world’s cancers came from the Salk and Sabin polio vaccines, and hepatitis B vaccines, produced in monkeys and chimps."

This is just one of the many ludicrous statements within this article. But I suppose anyone who gets their medical information from a site named "realfarmacy" deserves what they get. Oh, the joys of this "age of information" we are living in now!

Does the author of the article think there was no cancer prior to the polio and hepatitis B vaccines? What has gotten better over the years is recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.

Statements like "mesothelioma is on the rise" likely should read "the detection of mesothelioma is on the rise". Due to improved microscopes, basically.

My older sister, now in her mid-70's contracted polio when she was 4 years old. She was immediately paralyzed on her left side. According to my mother, she was hospitalized for 6 months and had what was then experimental treatment where the patient was periodically placed in a large tub of warm water and the limbs were exercised regularly. Today the benefits of "physical therapy" to exercise unused muscles is well known. In those days it was considered to be cutting edge treatment. My sister recovered completely.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - the very place where Jonas Salk developed his vaccine at the University of Pittsburgh. Parents of today cannot imagine what terror the summer months brought in the times prior to the availability of the polio vaccine. Swimming pools were closed. And yes, crowds were avoided.

I received the Salk Vaccine by injection - while in elementary school around 1954-1955. I believe I would have been part of the original clinical trials when millions of grade school children were innoculated within the schools. I can vividly remember being lined up in the school cafeteria and being very afraid to receive "a shot". I know that I cried.

There were no vaccines in those days except for the smallpox vaccination, which you had to have before you could enter school. For whatever reason, the scar left by this vaccination was much larger on some children than on others. Mine was small.

In addition to polio, children got the "normal childhood diseases" of chicken pox, measles, and mumps. These were not without complications and even death for some children. Things like "whooping cough" (Pertussis - the "P" in a DPT shot) were still around. While parents of today have many other things to worry about in raising their children - like, say, the internet - at least they don't have these diseases to deal with any more.

Today's innoculations do NOT use live vaccines. So no longer is anyone going to contract the disease from taking the vaccine. Will some children feel sick after receiving an innoculation? They could, depending on how strongly their immune system reacts to the immunogen.

Also, think of this: Let's say that one million people will receive a "flu shot" this coming October. Now, statistically, out of a million people a certain percentage of them were about to become sick. For whatever reason. Upset stomach, diarrhea, achey joints. These are people who were going to get sick anyway, no matter if they got a flu shot or not.

BUT in the case of people who did get the flu shot and then came down sick the very next day, what do they think? Yep, they think that the flu shot made them sick. And neither you nor I are likely to convince them otherwise!

As you all can tell, I really, really dislike these fools who, to me at least, seem to want to deliberately mislead the public in matters medical. And I always wonder, why? Why would anyone want to denigrate something that has literally saved probably millions of children from paralysis over the past almost-60 years?

As an old(er) woman who was most probably among the first of the American school children who received the Salk vaccine, if I develop mesothelioma or any other cancer at this age and stage, I'll still be happy that I got that shot that day so long ago.

Dubious claim and has been debunked. Shame on your professor for telling students that.
Before the vaccine, polio was a rampant disease. My mom's cousin had it. She caught it in the 40's and spent the rest of her life in a wheel chair. It affected a lot of children.
The number of people who contracted paralytic poliomyelitis is actually low and it had a much lower mortality rate than most other diseases. There was sustained panic about it because it had the tendency to lead to paralysis which people feared.

I agree with you that the issue of vaccines is always fraught with controversy. Sabin and Salk were lifesavers for those of us in our late 40's and beyond. There are STILL people living in a machine called an iron lung. Does not operate like the modern mechanical ventilators do.. Yes, some people who contracted bulbar polio still require the use of respirators but they use up-to-date and portable ones. If they still use respirators from the 30s-50s, then they either have poor care or it is by choice.

The oral sugar vaccine is the Sabin. The shot is the Salk. I have never come across any reputable source that says either of the vaccines has "monkey renal cancer cells" or a "cancer virus" and my PhD focus was the social history of polio.

Let's spell it out. Is there any known connection to SV-40?

I'm that generation too, exposed to both agent orange and Camp LeJeune water. I got the first doses of Polio vaccine and the second booster dose.

Heck, I'm going outside tonight to see if I glow in the dark. ;)
