Wasn't really sure where to put this thread, but it sounds bizzare to me, so here goes.......

http://abclocal.go.com/wtvg/news/0329_Cereal%20Lawsuit.html

I just caught an interview with the mom, and she was asked why she couldn't just read the back of the box to determine the nutritional value of the cereal. Her response went something like this:
"You have to be pretty well educated to understand what all the ingredients are"

Um, hello...my 3 year old can tell you that cereal companies put cartoons on the box to make kids want to buy cereal that isn't really good for them.

I know the educational system is bad in many places, but what in the world prevents someone from getting enough education to understand how to read nutritional information on the back of cereal boxes????? Since when is it that someone has to hold your little hand and spoon feed you the information you need to make informed consumer decisions?

Gees, I wonder what's next:rolleyes:
