Marine Wife I couldn't bring myself to get involled deeply with Casey and barely could with Haleigh's but that is only because snowshuze, raisen charlie and some others have gotten involved with others cases. BUT I know that we will see each other here on different cases. I can only handle so many and children - well that just does me no good to follow.

I also am very appreciative of those here who are familiar with the Marine Corps and closer to the trial than I live. Several days ago I looked at some of the old threads as the case developed and noticed many who were here then no longer are, or at least aren't still following the case. It seems kind of surreal that it's now over.

:rose: for Maria
:rose: for baby Gabriel

Thanks MarineWife... I'm really glad I'm not the only one who saw that :) and thank you TopsailGirl for your kind words, and for making me feel so welcome, even though I was late to the game on this forum. I've really appreciated all the intelligent, thoughtful conversation I found here.

You just stick around and you will find that 99.9% of the posters love the interaction and opinions of others even if they differ. Look how long I've been here and I still haven't beatn SHUZE in posts LOL

Panthera you are IMO one of the most respected and intellectual posters here and I know that I take every post you make to heart. You are a wealth of information and always have been. You are very much appreciated here!!!

I didn't think I would EVER pass 1,000. And when I did, I went almost 100 over before I NOTICED.

I blame most of it on the Haleigh Cummings case.

I started with Marias case over on ummmm....another board. :)

Panthera, you're quite welcome for any information I may have been able to contribute, though it was minor in comparison to what you provided me with your play by plays. :) it's the nature of this town that people come and go, I can only think of a handful of AD folks that I work with that were actually here in December 07. There wasn't nearly as much talk about this case as I expected, given the nature of it. Which is why I'm doubly glad I had you folks to talk to.

I appreciate all of you that let me speak my mind even when I hardly knew what all the legal mumbojumbo was haha It was nice to talk about the trial with people that cared about the case like I did.
:)

Thank you ~ that means a lot to me. :blowkiss: But please don't discount all the valuable information you have contributed to this case!

I missed it all, as usual. I would have bet money there would be no verdict today. Boy, was I wrong!

I was very happy to hear the guilty verdict, then suddenly felt so tired. I cried when I heard Mary Lauterbach's statement outside the courtroom. She may have said some things about Maria in the beginning I would not have said, but I see that Mother's face and my heart goes out to she and Maria's family.

I also feel sorry for Cesar's family. As for Cesar's sisters; I have 4 brothers myself and would never believe any one of them would be capable of murder of a pregnant woman much less burning her in a firepit. Cesar's family is in great pain as well.

I did not think this day would ever come and I am glad it is over. I am so grateful that justice has been done for Maria and Gabriel. Maybe now they can truly rest in peace.

For Maria and Baby Gabriel: :rose: :rose:

Thank you! Not to go o/t but I will need some help when Jason Young's case goes to trial unless it's coincidental with time off from work, as ironically this trial turned out to be! :)

Truly, I've had nothing but a good experience on here. I know all too well how quickly the differing opinions could have turned ugly, and it's a testament to the maturity and intelligence of the posters here that it didn't, especially given the emotions involved. Just happy to learn from you folks and contribute where I could.

Totally O/T but SHUZE, I get a kick out of seeing "Missourah" every time you post :) I take so much flack for pronouncing it that way out here!

Marine Wife FWIW my sister is a full time resident of Pender Coutny and I am a part timer STILL :banghead: - this case has been the tslk of the towns. I suppose most of the Marines don't move much outside of Onslow but Pender keeps a watchful eye on things. Even this past weekend, sitting in a restaurant in Hampstead it was all people were talking about. I was amazed...but then again most of them did nt knw the details the way we do.

:blushing: right back at ya sweetie!!!! I'm just so glad that one more case is done and 2 more innocent people are remembered. May Cesar rot in you-know-where

There's another way to pronounce it?

I appreciate and respect everyone here as well. Even if we at times have differing opinions, we have all stayed civil, LOL! We have to offer different opinions in order to put everything in perspective. I know that many times, someone has helped me to see something I have missed.

I am still so very glad that this is over.
