Character actor Kenneth Mars, best known for roles in "Young Frankenstein" and the original film version of "The Producers," died Saturday of pancreatic cancer in Granada Hills, Calif. He was 75.

Survivors include two daughters and six grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Mars was a pure delight in The Producers - "I am ze author, you are ze audience, I outrank you!" is one of my favourite lines ever. Also, wonderful in Young Frankenstein and What's Up Doc? He was one of the truly great character actors, IMHO - I always happy to see him in any movie.
