Governor expected to sign tougher sex predator laws tied to murdered teens Chelsea King, Amber Dubois


The California Assembly on Monday passed what its sponsor said was one the nation's toughest sex offender laws, unanimously approving "Chelsea's Law" in response to the abduction, rape and murder of Poway High School senior Chelsea King.

Chelsea's Law signed into effect today by governor

The bill, authored by Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, R-San Diego, requires a life sentence without the possibility of parole for forcible sex acts against minors. It also tightens sex offense parole guidelines and requires lifelong tracking of certain sex offenders.

This is excellent news! Every state should adopt a similar law, imo.
