Circumstances of Recovery
This unidentified living is now deceased as of October 18, 2021. His true identify is still unknown. Circumstances when he was a living John Doe. "Homeless, Found July 21, 2011 in altered state with possible heat stroke. Found lying off curb of an exit ramp off Lake Shore Drive with shopping cart full of spoiled food. a.k.a. "Robert Rockefeller," who lives at a Northlake nursing home, has "altered mental status" and is "disoriented to person, time and place," according to probate court records. He has an arrest record and has given police dozens of names and aliases, records show. He was hospitalized last year with heatstroke and became a ward of the state. Says never married, no children, all relatives deceased. Alternately says that he would like to re-contact his half-brother (sometimes referred to as step-brother). Has given different names for the brother. Note, in recent visit said relative’s name ended with “ski”."

This doe caught my eye and I went down the rabbits hole. I came to the conclusion that "Michael Demith", is very likely his true name.

There are multiple Michael Demith's but I believe he is someone born ~1948 (maybe Sep), that attended Bloom Highschool, Chicago Heights.
There are various addresses listed in Chicago but from what I gather he likely had at least one son of the same name in 1968 and maybe a daughter as well.

Here are the yearbook photos that pretty much sum up why I feel like this is a strong match.



You can see that they are trying to cover up the "lazy eye" by posing him a certain way but it is still noticable.

I have also figured out contact information for relatives of his (who have DNA uploaded to an ancestry site) and will likely contact Chicago PD once I have time to figure out the best way without calling.

This case is closed. I called them and they told me that man has been identified. They just haven't taken the case down yet.
