I would do my best to hold it. I would try to discreetly get the FA's attention and explain the problem. If I wasn't allowed to leave my seat , Id do my best to hold it and if I couldn't, I would deal with the results when I was allowed to leave my seat. The FA could deal with the seat.but at no time would I throw a hissyfit and draw attention to my plight.
Of course! Is there really any other choice? Are you gonna storm the lavatory Rambo style? I can't believe this is a serious conversation. One of the things I think about before I board a plane and while I'm on board is the lavatory situation. How am I feeling (I've been known to pick up some otc stuff if I'm feeling a little off). How long is the flight. How many people am I likely to need to share the bathroom with. Plane bathrooms are increasingly disgusting, I do NOT want to have to use the lav after about 3-4 hours time. --- especially with a little kid who can't "hover" and wants to touch everything, gak! And, will I be able to go when I need to? I deliberately decrease how much I drink or eat if it's a long flight and I'm not sure I'll be able to or want to use the restroom. There is NO guarantee that you'll be able to use it when you need to. The crew ALWAYS has the last word on that. I thought everyone was aware :::shrug:::
