Louisiana had 76 arrests as part of Operation Cross Country. Four victims were located in New Orleans, and two in Baton Rouge.
A 72-hour nationwide human trafficking sting helped rescue kids like Alex this past weekend.
"For Louisiana we had 76 arrests and six child recoveries. If you're going to stack us up with the rest of the country, we're tied for fifth in the most recoveries of juveniles," said FBI New Orleans Special Agent In Charge Michael Anderson.
In New Orleans, the FBI says four kids, one pimp and 17 adult prostitutes were recovered in the sting.

During the sting operation, 19 adults — 16 prostitutes, 2 “johns” and one pimp — were arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, according to FBI records.

The two juveniles arrested in Baton Rouge, both 17 years old, were from Baton Rouge and Lubbock, Texas. In New Orleans, 17 adults were arrested, according to the FBI.

Keiosha Felix is a name that immediately came to my mind. We also have several teens still missing from New Orleans. I wonder if we'll ever know if these kids were among the rescued.

It was written in a Louisiana article that most of the children/young adults were homeless.
FYI: When a foster child reaches the age of 18 they can be forced to leave their foster home (no more $ coming in for foster family!). What a racket!

Homelessness is a serious issue facing those kids who age out of the foster care system. I am involved in the charity started by singer Jimmy Wayne....called Project Meet Me Halfway (MMH).

He has been working on getting legislation passed in all 50 states to help these kids who are older and have no where to go but the streets.

There seems to be some of her relatives in the comments section who are disputing this young woman's story.

EllaMae, I didn't see the comments. I can't force myself to look today. No matter it's sad either way the story goes, right?

Some of the children rescued may have to be arrested for their own protection.

Akin to this a place called Kristi's House in Florida is brand new and housed six girls who were rescued from this sting. All six took off and sadly one of the girls was raped quite a distance away while trying to return to Kristi's Place.

Such a violent, sad, ugly world for these kids.
