China Recalls Tainted Leukemia Drugs

I try and stay off some of these threads but leukemia patients? This is the worst to me. Has anyone ever seen a child die of leukemia, I have. If this is the case with China and the shoddy products then we can safely say that we write them off. We will buy home grown and maybe less than we wish but more than we need but we aren't putting innocent people's lives at stake. Jeez! That pizzes me off.

I have concernedperson. I had leukemia as a child and I remember one boy in particular that died while I was there. When I read the title of the thread I felt sick to my stomach. Now I feel like crying. These people go through so much already why add to it. You would think that in something as serious as this our country would opt on the side of safety and not just go for the lowest bidder.
China is exporting junk, dangerous junk at that. We need to just not buy anything made in China and make our legislators know it.

While I agree with everything everyone is saying, I have to say this: don't get too paranoid about China being out the get the US.

I see a lot of people here saying 'they're out to get us', well if they are, they are out to get the entire rest of the world, because this is happening all over Europe too (and Australia too, Shazza, other Aussies?).

I know it's not much in the form of comfort, LOL. But for some it might be, as 'the US being targeted' seems (rightfully so, sadly) a big fear for many. However I doubt that's the case here.

I don't think they're targeting us. I think they just export cr*p and the US, along with some other countries, are the fools that buy their cr*p.

i don't at all believe that they are "out to get us." I just believe that if they wanted too this is a way to do it.

Lizzy and Sleuthin', just to make sure - I wasn't talking to anyone in particular.... just that in a lot of these threads lately many posters have said 'they're out to get us' in the context of 'the US'.

And I totally agree - China's just been making money off of everyone who has their stuff made there, and trying to make even more money off of them by going even cheaper... and nobody bothered to check their products... and now average Joe is paying the price!

This is just more evidence of how the country is going to h*ll under the bush administration... as if we needed any more! For those of you who voted for him.... well, all I can say is.. we TRIED to warn you. Now look where we are.... What a pathetic DISASTER.
