Chris Hanson - Caught!

  • #21
I hated To Catch a Predator and thought it was wrong on so many levels.

I rarely take pleasure in the bad press people bring on themselves with their questionable decisions and behavior, but I have to admit that it is satisfying to see someone in Hanson's role get popped like this. Delicious irony......watching the sneaky and sanctimonious being forcefed some of their own rancid medicine is just too delicious to pass up.

What she said.

Well.. well.. well... Mr. perfect himself.

I wonder if any that were ever "caught" on his show were ever found not to be guility of ....well, being caught? (Mistaken identity, misunderstanding, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, "she told me she was 18!", underage kid? what underage kid? I'm a driver for Domino's...didn't someone call for a pizza?"defense, etc.)

It doesn't take from the good he has done.
He is after all human and humans fail. I am in not in anyway defending him all, just saying, nobody is a hero in all areas of their lives.

And, I too was taken in by the title. It should be changed. It wouldn't be getting all these responses if he was just cheating. It is misleading.

Goz:)

I don't think the title is misleading at all, but it is clever! He got caught behaving badly just like he used to catch others behaving badly.....crystal clear!

Unless they were seen kissing or having sex, it's just gossip.

It is possible to have dinner with a person of the opposite sex or to share a hotel room without it being sexual. I've shared dinner tables and hotel rooms with girlfriends, female work associates, female platonic friends, and my sister.

When I lived in Seoul, I often taught private English lessons and would meet my clients at coffeeshops since it was the safest and most convenient place to meet up and do these. After a while, my whole neighborhood hated me because they thought I was a "foreign playboy" taking tons of different women on dates when these were just English lessons, nothing sexual. Okay, I did get one girlfriend from teaching private English lessons, but that was just one out of dozens of customers. I eventually just had to ride the subway to their neighborhoods because of this issue, which cut into my profits and my time, all because of gossip.

Maybe Chris Hanson is having a fling with the girl, maybe they're co-writing a book, or maybe they're just friends.

Okay, so maybe I was over the top ;)

I have a tendancy to get defensive for those who stand up against child molesters (like Chris Hansen).

If some rag mag accused Tim Miller or Marc Klaas of having an affair, I'm afraid my head might just pop off!

LOL

Hugs,

Mel

I guess these guys are just human after all. :p

ITA with your post. Playing around while married is morally wrong but not illegal, being a child sex predator however, is very illegal and harms innocent children...............whole different ballgame.

Scandal costs him anchor job

"NBC has ditched a plan to name "To Catch a Predator" reporter Chris Hansen a lead anchor of "Dateline" following allegations he's been having an extramarital tryst with a pretty Florida TV reporter and that he sent her explicit photos."

Oh, good grief! Now the private lives of reporters affect their abilities to hold their jobs? Since when is a reporter assumed to be some sort of moral paragon?

NBC must be watching different movies than I.

(BTW I am NOT a Chris Hansen fan! I always thought he was smarmy.)

If every reporter I've ever known who cheated on their spouse was fired, I'd probably be able to get a job at any newspaper I wanted.

You can't make this stuff up.

Sure you can. Reporters for the National Enquirer have been doing it for decades!

With a couple of exceptions (I'm sure Massachusetts just never got around to talking an old law off the books), those are the states where people marry their siblings and first cousins, so a law against adultery is just an attempt to keep the gene pool shallow.
I find that rather insulting. I don't know of any state that actually enforces a law against adultery, any more than they do against sodomy. Especially states in the upper Midwest.

Who would want to date him? Ok she would, if they are on a date. Would he be that silly to take a date out in the public? idk I could have been sitting next to them and would never have known who he was. jmo

I once had a reporter rent a house across the street and would beat the mower with a rope when it wouldn't start, and beat the magnolia tree with a broom after he got off the phone and was mad. He was a treat to watch.

Well, there's no question where the idea of the explicit photos came from. I love that predator show. It provided hours of laughs while preventing all those pervs from molesting real kids. Chris Hansen has balls of steel. I don't give a darn about his personal life. It's the mistress' own fault if she can't find work because she was dealing with a married man.
