I think after #3 you should just hang up your hat.

You would have thunk after so many husbands, death of a boyfriend she would give it up. Maybe her and the deep Frey are related for real!

Totally off topic but ISPTRAX I smile every time I see those adorable dogs of yours:)

Back to topic ....
I think if she has the means to support and love 3 or 13 kids good for her.
But I also think having 3 kids with 3 different men and marrying 4 means there is some issue with her.

Seems to be the theme of the week. Marrying men for what reason?

Jumping into that Taubman marriage was weird, I thought.

I thought Peter Cook was the real deal for her; from everything I read he was a good-looking, nice, successful architect. She has adorable children.

Maybe she has wanted to go back to a career, get back into modeling and all, but he just wanted a woman who would stay at home? who knows; would be interesting to find out that's all;

She was always gushing about him. Maybe he was too good to be true. Remember for every beautiful woman, there's some guy that has to put up with her chit.

I don't think that just because a woman is beautiful, there's extra chit that goes along with it...I know of women that are ugly inside and out, and women that are beautiful inside and out.

Christie Brinkley has been my very favorite model for years. She is the perfect image, IMO, of a wholesome, beachy, loving Mom and wife. I read everything I can about her and she seems to be pretty centered up (for the most part). I think she is just unlucky in love. I am sure that a large percentage of the available male population would be intimidated by her.

Just my opinion, of course. :)

I still believe she can't be THAT easy to live with. Nobody is. But she is a knockout. Maybe they are intimidated. But maybe she is bossy. Why do I get that feeling on the old radar?

The first speculation I've read on why they split seems to be saying that Cook is very busy with his career while Christie's is slowing down. It's probably just gossip.

In Brinkley separation, plenty of speculation

Christie Brinkley's split from fourth husband Peter Cook did not come as a surprise to friends of the couple.

"Peter has been talking about trouble in the marriage for some time," says an insider.

East End buzz says Cook's burgeoning demand as an architect put strain on the union. "He's at the peak of his career, and she is at the end of hers as a model," says the source. "They were in very different places."

Cook just finished a major commission on the $10 million-plus Bridgehampton mansion of heiress Anne Hearst.

And the couple had been making money by renovating Hamptons properties and flipping them. However, their absence from the spring and summer party whirl had begun to attract comment. "Christie and Peter have not been seen together for some time," says the source.

There are rumors around NYC/Hamptons that he had an affair.

I don't think it's really fair to compare her to Amber Frey. She was involved in some pretty lengthy relationships by celebrity standards. She has a very good relationship with her daughter Alexa and from what I've seen seems to be a pretty good mother. From what I've read, she was head over heels for Billy Joel, but his addiction/depression problems destroyed their marriage. They have remained on good terms which I always admire with divorced couples.

I always thought her latest husband looked too much like he could be her brother. Her daughter Alexa is a sweetheart and a talented musician in her own right. She had really grown into her looks. Remember when she was a little girl and had her father's big, sad eyes on her little face?

I agree. Plus, like all women, Christie wasn't "always" beautiful. We all know that it takes work to look good, especially when you are in the public.

Look at Oprah. She looks great on her show; but have you seen her when she is not made up? She looks horrible. I think that it is great that she doesn't have to be made up all of the time. She is who she is.

As for your post: It takes a lot of patience and independence to be with a successful man. In order for these men to be successful, they have to be married to their jobs 24/7. Believe me...I know... ;)

Oh, I'm so glad I have an audience sometimes.

Yep, I suspect an affair. Cause living with Christie just wasn't as "glamorous" as it used to be (Oh, it's so fun to guess anyway)
