Cook -- the estranged hubby of Christie Brinkley -- wanted their divorce battle to be closed to the media, but a judge ruled that the press could sit in the courtroom. Brinkley, for her part, is alleging that Petey liked Internet porn and tried to get her to go to swingers' clubs.

Case starts July 2, just in time for fireworks displays! :D

This dirty laundry airing is going to be just lovely for the children — NOT! :furious:

Poor Alexa has been through it twice, and she's old enough to understand this one, that's for sure. I believe she penned a song about her stepdad, or the situation, when the news originally broke about his affair with a teen. Good for her! I feel sorry for the little kids though.

Yikes. So many articles I've read and pics of her I've seen over the years, and I thought she had it ALL, you know? Goes to show ya.

Seriously, who could have what that guy did and throw it all away like that.

I agree with what I just read from some other's too. The youngest two kids shouldn't have this in the press, have to face comments from kids at school about their Dad and Mom, when they are at such a vulnerable age. I wish the judge wouldn't have made this decision. We really IMO, don't have the right to know this stuff.

"Thirst for revenge"? I don't think so...I'm loving this. Go Christie!

Other Woman Rears Head in Brinkley Divorce

snip

With her divorce saga set to play out in a Long Island courtroom next month, Christie Brinkley is making sure all the main characters are accounted for, including the woman who wrecked her marriage.
Diana Bianchi, who was a 19-year-old office assistant when she had a fling with the supermodel's soon-to-be ex, architect Peter Cook, has been supboenaed to testify about the tryst.

From a personal standpoint, I'm glad the judge ruled the way he did. On behalf of the couple's children, however, I think the judge made a mistake. The kids don't need to hear this crap, EVER.

Isn't it amazing that his lawyer is saying that Christie is making this a spectator sport and that Peter has moved on with his life? He is trying to break their prenup and get more money. NY is not a no-fault state. So, it is he who is causing the problems...again...

I think that he has his nerve. He cheats, watches porn and does whatever. Then, he wants to keep it private because of his behavior. Yet, he wants to break the prenup and get more money from her. Yeah, it sounds like he has moved on. He may have, but he still wants her money. Go figure...

I hope that every sordid detail about him is exposed. We'll see how much he wants to risk in an effort to get what is not his. I am really glad that the judge ruled the way that he did.

I agree with what you said, but I have a very strong feeling that she will keep her kids pretty well insulated from all of this. It seems like when the whole affair scandal hit, she really closed ranks and I think she took her kids out of the country.

Did you see in the article I linked to the part about the other woman suing Peter Cook for sexual harrassment? The article says they settled out of court for an undisclosed sum. I think Diana Bianchi knew exactly what she was doing when she slept with him. I think she was a willing participant.

I just read today that Peter paid Diana $300k in hush money.

I feel bad for the kids.

I'm sure she'll keep them insulated from it NOW, but what about in 10 years from now? One day they'll have to read about what their father did to their mother and all the b.s. that everyone in public had to say about that. Many of us have stuff that happened in our families when we were children, but how many of us would want the whole world reading and talking about it?

The undisclosed sum was disclosed: $300,000. However, that was only so she wouldn't speak to the press. That agreement goes out the window in a court of law. She'll have to take the stand and testify unless she wants to go to jail, which she's said will not happen. She WILL testify.

Sometimes, as hurtful as it is to the children, the truth has to take precedent. This man is/was a leech in every sense of the word.

The children should not be placing a false sense of loyalty on someone who wasn't loyal to them. Christy aside...he didn't take care of his children.

I can't condone someone who doesn't put their children first. He was an adult and he knew what he was doing.

Yes, the truth could have come out in a closed courtroom though, right?

Yes, as long as the children were made aware of the facts. Otherwise, Christy faces an uphill battle with falsehoods. This is tough for any mom not just the rich and famous. Doing what is right for our children is often hard.

I guess I am personalizing to a degree. My daughter asked me today where was her father during all of her problems. I had always side stepped his indifference to make it sound that he was more clueless than selfish. But, the truth is he is selfish.

Even though we have been divorced many more years than we were married it has hurt her more than my trying to sidestep.

I am at a different point right now. Just more reality checks.

These are LITTLE CHILDREN. Why must they be made aware of the fact that their dad is a perv? I mean at some point in their lives, they'll be made aware of what happened during the divorce regardless of whether its made public now or not. This is sort of the type of thing that Anna Nicole's daughter is going to face when she grows up. Hearing stuff about your parents is tough for any kid. Hearing all the crap that the world has to say about your parents has to be ten million times worse. That's just unnecessary, IMO.

All that stuff that happened between you and your husband is and should remain private to your family alone. How would your daughter feel if the entire planet was talking about it and laughing at your family? It can't be a good feeling regardless of which parent was right and who made the mistakes. They're BOTH these kids' parents and hopefully, the kids will love both of them equally. What goes on between two adults in a marriage has nothing whatever to do with the children.

Only if the children have unanswered questions. If they grow up with doubts or feel that they themselves were abused. The goal is to make our children feel whole and able to walk in this world with their heads held high. In other words, they are not responsible for the action of any parent.Loving a parent does not make the action OK. You learn to deal with it if you have all the facts.

Hiding doesn't make it go away.

I'm not trying to say they should hide what's happening from their children when the children are adults. I just don't think the children should have to read or watch what the REST of the world has to say about their parents' marriage.

I just read today that Peter paid Denise $300k in hush money.

Well she's not being quiet. I saw her interviewed today saying that Peter used to leave money for her under rocks around the Hamptons.

I think trauma about your parents' sex life is enough without playing it over and over with other people involved. It would be disgusting to most kids and very much traumatic to see it or discuss it. I feel sorry for them. (You are right on the money, Jeana!)

Divorce is never easy, but freaking stupid/selfish adults in a bad divorce make me want to scream. Don't celeb parents EVER consider their feelings about their own parents' sex lives and seeing it played out in front of them?! Guess not...selfish people!

Grow the hell up already!
