Circumstances of Disappearance

Frank lived with his mother and his grandmother in the Borna residential area of An der Wyhra. On 8 o'clock on the morning of April 18, 1995 ,his grandmother was about to take him to kindergarten but he ran outside before her. He hid under a certain balcony every morning during his morning outings to kindergarten with his grandmother. That's why grandma thought he was there on April 18 - but didn't find him. After reporting his grandson missing to the police station, shortly after eight o'clock, the search began. A man reported to the police that he saw the missing boy at the Whyra Bridge and brought him home, but Christopher never got there.

Also his mother had a blogspot available at the following link HERZENS - Sache
It's not a blog about Christopher's disappearance however she has a dedicated page for him. Here's a quote from it:

"Our experiences with the media are still not positive, after a long back and forth, I was persuaded to do an interview (I don't want to be in front of the camera, it's not about me)."

Couldn't find much more info about him. Christopher would now be 30 years old.

Borna. Christopher Frank would be 25 years old today. The boy who, like every day, left the house with his grandmother in the Borna residential area of An der Wyhra on April 18, 1995 to go to kindergarten. However, he never gets there. When Grandma lets him out of her sight for a brief moment, he is gone. To this day he has disappeared and is one of the unsolved missing person cases , as police spokesman Uwe Voigt confirms. One of the most spectacular missing person cases in Borna in recent decades.

“Hour-long search for little Christopher” is the headline in the Borna LVZ issue from April 19, 1995. From now on there will be reports about the missing boy in the newspaper for weeks. What follows is an extensive search for the child who hid under a certain balcony every day during the morning trips to kindergarten with his grandmother. Everyday fun for the boy, which is why Grandma thought he was there on April 18th - but couldn't find him. After she reported her grandson missing to the police shortly after eight, the search began.

Search was unsuccessful

A large contingent of search forces arrives - riot police in Leipzig, divers, the Saxon helicopter squadron and firefighters. They comb through the residential area, popularly known as the Paschke district at the time, as it was during the GDR era, and the area around the nearby Wyhra. Nothing comes of the search, even when an older man reports to the police in the afternoon and explains that he saw the missing boy at the Wyhra Bridge and brought him home. But Christopher never got there.

And it remains that way, even though the search has been in full swing for weeks. Special dogs are brought to Borna and find nothing. The city is, quite logically, full of rumors. The work of the “Wyhra” investigative group was ultimately unsuccessful. Until today, as Uwe Voigt, spokesman for the Leipzig Police Department, admits. It was “not possible to conclusively clarify” “what ultimately happened to the boy”. And further: “There comes a point in every missing person case at which all investigations and search measures have been exhausted.” That was also the case in the Christopher Frank case.

Wyhra led to floods

At that time, the police explained that the boy fell into the Wyhra, which was flooding at the time. However, a body is never found. The boy's family, however, assumes that he was kidnapped. The grandmother and her daughter later move away from Borna because they can no longer stand it in the city.
The police have not gained any new information in the Christopher case since then, says police spokesman Voigt. However, the case will remain on file for at least 30 years. In this specific case, longer because the boy was still very young at the time of his disappearance. Voigt: “The search will remain in the police database for this period.” In addition, the identification documents, such as comparison DNA, have been placed in the State Criminal Police Office’s file.

A spark of hope always remains

The question remains whether there is even a glimmer of hope. This exists, says Voigt - "as long as the person was found alive, ideally, or ultimately dead." Hope is also about hope on the Internet on the "You're Missing" page, where you can find pictures of Christopher, a description of his clothing on April 18, 1995 and a request for information.

Why did a man say he brought the boy home, yet the boy didn't arrive? How did he claim to know where Christopher lived, and did he not claim to have rung the doorbell and talked to someone at the home? Did the man just make this up, or was he trying to insert himself into the case for some reason?

I also wonder how close the river was to the spot where Christopher disappeared?

I had the same question in mind when first reading about this case, like why would you do that ??? This is so strange
