With all due respect, I think the A's have invited a lot of the reaction they are getting from the public. I still find them pitiable, even though I think they are willfully looking away from the facts. When I often reach the limits of any sympathy is when they are so heartless and accusatory toward other people who did no more than befriend, and be taken advantage of by, Casey. Or others like TM and LE who are truly trying to help in a way not exactly of their choosing and therefore have to be condemned. Many of us have been, or know, a broken, grieving person, and all the strange, protective ways your mind tries to save you from feelings more awful than you can stand. There is an X factor here for the Anthonies that probably is skewing our perceptions and their reactions: years of family life built around a person who is not the norm, many say likely a sociopath - handling, explaining, accommodating, placating, enabling, fearing, etc. It's bound up in what drives them now, if that makes any sense. It's a tragic mess, most especially for little Caylee. She didn't have any choice in the matter.
