Cindy's (draft?) email to Casey--computer forensics report

After reading how truly upset Cindy was at this time,
I find it hard to believe that she wouldn't have tracked down "Zanny" with the number & address that KC had given her as she "claimed" to John Morgan.

I can't see her sitting by idly for a month if she had the "nanny's" info.

I don't know. from reading this letter of cindy's, I'm not hearing that she believed KC at all.

I think it's clear from at least the July 3rd myspace post, there was something worrying Cindy to the point that she felt she needed to make such a potentially incriminating public statement to reach KC. Remember, Cindy does not like the world to know that there is anything wrong in that home or with her daughter. She could have sent it in an email.

I think the "I'd rather see my daughter dead than with you..." suggestion sounds extremely plausible. I believe that Cindy did bring up the custody threat that night, and KC had to trump that threat in some way to put this extremely dominating woman (Cindy) into a very submissive mode.

If that's the type of exchange that Cindy had with KC before Caylee went "missing", I think, deep down, she had always had some awareness of something being very wrong regarding her daughter's mental health (sociopath comment). Cindy, in her darkest moments, may have considered KC being capable of doing the unthinkable (especially if that is the type of comment KC had thrown out after Cindy's threat).

I think this message was intentionally crafted as a plea to KC:

Evoke pity (for Cindy) with her unravelling emotional state
Requesting pictures of, or hearing the voice of Caylee (proof of life)
Testing of KC about her "job" situation, people she was with (Jeff)/location and the thing with George.
Ultimately the "I've tried not to bug you to death" illustrates the trepidation she was feeling about "pushing" KC into doing something (if she hadn't already) that Cindy felt KC clearly was capable of doing.

I think Cindy (subconsiously at the least) knew that KC was capable of doing something catastrophic. This letter tells me that she was struggling internally between wanting to hear her daughter allay those fears while not provoking KC any further while she was out of Cindy's control.

What stands out most to me in this letter, is Cindy's demeanor. The Cindy we see on TV, would be raging at KC by this time for taking away her control. Instead, she is almost.... meek? She had to be afraid of something much more than KC moving out...

For what it is worth, I live in Florida and at most times the notices for certified mail only show the address or zip code for the place sending it. If they had past due bills, they may have thought it was a collection notice of some kind. Thus the delay in picking it up.

Also, I remember when Anheiser Bush was bought out, and the only park I thought they were associated with was Sea World. They stopped giving out free beer when the takeover happened. which was a bummer, but the park didn't close. I don't know what, if anything, the takeover had to do with Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure or how that would even effect Casey if she has really worked there.

This is an excellent post.
It is a very scary and disturbing possibility.

The pontiac was registered in Cindy and George Anthony's names. This makes them the LEGAL owners of a vehicle alleged to have contained at some point in time the decaying body of a murdered toddler named Caylee Marie Anthony.

I can't see her sitting by idly for a month if she had the "nanny's" info.

I am pretty sure Cindy tried to get in touch with the "nanny" if Casey ever gave her phone numbers. I think she probably tried Casey's work too. (IMO, that is why Cindy did not follow the advice of her co-workers to call Casey at work. I think she'd already tried doing that and knew the phone numbers were fake. But, she didn't want to tell her friends at work.)

By the time Cindy wrote that e-mail draft I think Cindy knew Casey's job was bogus and that the numbers Casey gave her for the nanny were not real either. The draft sounds like a "fishing-for-info" e-mail.

Cindy was telling "mistruths" on the CBS Early Show. She was worried sick about Caylee every day after June 16 and hoping she was overreacting.

IMO

OK------here's what I am gittin---maybe---Does this mean that we are not talking about ONE month-----but TWO months????????

I do remember this but where is it located in the docs? Is it in one of the interviews with Melich? Anyone remember? I'd definitely like to go take a look and bump it against the FBI interview.
It was in one of her interviews with OCSO, it is mentioned here in the supplemental report, if you go by the page #'s on the upper right corner of the page, it is towards the end of page 10. At the top of the section where Cindy's interview is mentioned there is a date of 07/31/2008, I assume it was the interview done on that date.

Sumthin ain't right here. HMMMMM. Nope! Not right at all.

"Dad said he went to work"....maybe he had a pretend job too.

I remember there was a show maybe GVS where cindy was in her kitchen? and she did discuss calling phone numbers that she was given but then would realize it was some neighbor or someone the family knew on the other end. I don't think I'm making this up. It was early on.
Also don't you think cindy would have called the Grunds or the neighbor girl Christine? at one point to ask if they have seen Casey lately? It's not like she did not have any of Caseys friends phone or couldn't get them.

FYI on the dates - even though Cindy says "over a month" I'd say it could be anywhere in between 3-4 weeks.

Even though the InBev merger was announced on July 14th, it was a hostile takeover- InBev had been trying/threatening to launch a tender offer for Anheiser-Busch for a while now, SO Cindy could have heard about it before the official agreement was talked about on TV. CNBC (not saying Cindy watched it) talked about the possible merger for a while.

Chit-Chat at work----Wid you so far.

Exactly! Or have the police drop in and make sure everything is OK.

Excellent post!

sad situation......CA was at the mercy of KC. the unknown was driving her crazy, yet she was petrified of hearing the *real* truth. sad sad sad

It would be fine if they supported her in parental ways, like, visiting her in jail, talking to her about redemption, about confession and forgiveness, talking to her while she was in their house and making her come clean and tell the truth. If they were concerned for her eternal soul or general welfare and wanted her to understand they still loved her, fine. But they go much further than that. They blame other people for various things up and through the murder of their grandchild. They get angry at people whose lives their daughter screwed up when she sucked them into this mess. They proclaim her innocence in the face of staggering evidence to the contrary. I believe they are now lying to make her look better. Without getting to the bottom of what really happened, they talk about how wonderful the woman is who murdered their grandchild and talk about how proud they are. Yet...they don't visit her in jail.

(Emphasis is mine)

I could not agree more with this line of your post.

I noticed the other day when looking through some transcripts that the "smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car" had morphed into a 'pizza smell' by August 8 2008.

OTR with Greta transcript August 8th:
"CINDY ANTHONY: All right, here's what happened. 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon, brings the car home, pizza smell in the back trunk. No evidence of Caylee, no evidence of Casey."

So, let's see. From July 15th when she started her flurry of 911 calls until August 8th is 23 days. +/- a day or so for the taping of that episode.

We now know that it takes exactly 23 days for a smell like a dead body in the damn car to go through the stages of decomposition to a pizza smell.

Ladies and Gentlemen, wake the kids and call the neighbors.

The sad thing, the very saddest thing about this particular page in the tale, is that it only took 23 days for Cindy to forget that pizza smell was her beloved Caylee.

My question is how does she stand it, and when will she break? Cause I'm pretty sure she'll break sooner or later. Just a matter of time.

But there is no way that I see that I could ever reduce the odor of MY dearly and unconditionally loved 3 year old grandson's decomposing body in my mind to a pizza smell . . . .

So how can she stand it, late at night, when there's no one to talk to because
  • Caylee is gone
  • She doesn't want to talk to George cause she thinks he threw Casey under the bus
  • George doesn't want to talk to Cindy cause he thinks she threw Casey under the bus
  • She has no friends and if she did, they wouldn't talk to her late at night
  • Can't talk to Lee cause he talks as much as she does and she doesn't like it when 'no one is letting me SPEAK!'
  • She could talk to Casey but. .
    • Oh yeah, she's in jail
  • She could talk to her siblings but . .
    • Oh yeah, better not call Rick
  • She could talk to her Mom
    • Well, better not make that call either
How does she sleep, how does she look at herself in the mirror every day? It just boggles the mind to try and understand it, because we just can't.
