There is an extra frame of MM(?) inside the Conti, just BEFORE the frame everyone is discussing. It shows a more "side view" of the male in questions and seeing both frames in sequence, suggests to me that he IS using a "brick" mobile

Are you able to get a still and post it?

However the vehicle the WA police included in the CIA documentary was a 4-door sedan.
It certainly doesn't look like a sedan to me.

Hi All,
Long time listener first time caller (as they say)
This is a great forum with alot of intelligent discussion going on and great research.
I read all the big footy forum on the CSK and it was very interesting, I saw it was closed (does anyone know why btw?) it was great to find that alot of the posters there have moved the discussion here.

Just a quick observation in regards to Mystery Man.
Papertrail made an amazing screen grab from the CSI doco of the background shot with an identikit facial image of what we can assume to be a possible person of interest. Due to the angle it was filmed only the top portion of the face is showing, however I can definitely see that it could be a possible match for MM. Both have dark hair, you can tell from the back of MM's head he has quite a long face, and the darkness of his hair suggests he may have also dark eyebrows, maybe like the identikit image. Also although the haircut is not the same he could have changed his hair style.
Which brings the question, do they have an identikit image for MM?
Even if it is not what the police believe is MM this identikit portrait is really interesting and throws up a whole lot of questions, i.e. is this image from one of the victim's recollections? is the face a composite of a number of witness reports? Does he resemble anyone from the list of POI's so far?

Also of interest are the maps and information / print outs pinned to the board. The one that says 'the danger zone' are these newspaper clippings?

Major Kudos to Papertrail for finding this.
I hope its ok I have included the screen grab again here for reference -

Hi. Welcome to the thread. I didn't post on the original BF, but I think it was closed because it imploded. If you made it thru the entire thread, you probably know better than me.

The screenshot of the the composite could be a match for MM, but no victim or witness descriptions of a perpetrator's facial features have ever been released (or even acknowledged to exist). IMO, the composite does not match LW, SR, PW, or Judoman. Some posters consider Dixie or Wark as suspects, and the composite does not match either of them.

Yes, those seem to be newspaper clippings that Detective Ferguson clipped out and placed on the bulletin board.

Papertrail is quite the eagle eye ;-) Agreed, very good job.

Hey, there. I cannot tell if it is a cell phone, a camera or MM taking a drink. I will try to view these early frames together.

I saw that frame maybe a couple of days ago and took some screen shots but the quality is so bad I didn't post them. He maybe has receding hair?. I've been trying to figure out if someone is standing beside him with arm across his back. This particular frame shows just before the other one of 'Conti-man' that we have already talked about.

My copy doesn't seem to be too bad in regard to quality, although I did "up" the contrast and play with colour filters to get it to sharpen up! Tried to upload it but the file is too big.

I will load mine, but they aren't very clear, still can't tell what's in his hand. Is someone standing behind him?

Can anyone read the clipping posted above the composite drawing?

Just for clarity; The Cottesloe Hotel is on Marine Pde (Cnr John St) Cottesloe, right across the road from the beach.

I can't believe how many sex related attacks occurred during this period in Perth's Western Suburbs. I recall around the same time a girl that I knew of had been to the Cott and well-known basket baller Tiny Pinder tried to attack her when she was in a phone box across the road.

BBM. Yep, just where it should be--in Cottesloe. Don't know what map I was using, thanks for correcting me.

Your pic is betternnnn mine Sutton...Thanks!
And for those with Adobe or likewise...up the contrast a little, reduce brightness and you can see things a lil clearer. Even better with filters...so once again, thanks!

Has there been any communication from Bret with you after you emailed him the 'inside conti' frame? The ice machine frame is also at the 45second mark in the Flect 1.08 video. Can anyone make out the datestamp on the ice machine frame?

I am absolutely amazed that no one appears to have picked up this inside conti frame before I posted it.

No I have not heard back. He would be definitely looking into it. Papertrail as I said to Billy. Everyone looked at the footage but barely anyone went through it frame by frame. You would not expect them to.

While I tend to be of the opinion that MM is a red herring, this "new" footage might prove me wrong.

One thing I just realized is we don't ever get to see what happens when MM gets closer to Jane. Do they embrace? Or touch at all? I think they do. The footage stops at that exact point on the CIA docu and the 1:08 video.

I think Det. Stanbury and the host lead you to believe MM keeps on walking by (I had it muted so could be wrong, not sure what they said).

Regardless, I just stopped it 20+ times as MM approaches Jane, and it looks like he walks up to her and she is going to hug him.

Snipped. No. It's blurrier than the 'inside the Conti' frame, to me.

On the topic of CCTV footage, here is an eyewitness who sounds relatively genuine contributing to a lifestyle blog:

The real shame is the quality of the CCT footage that was available from out the front of the clubs in Claremont (Bayview in particular). My best friend was suspected to have been followed by the killer one night when her car broke down out the front of the club and she got out to walk to a phone booth to call her Dad. I went with her and the police to watch the CCT footage a week later, and the memory of watching her being stalked still makes me feel sick. They had a clear shot of the car and of the man, but the vision is so blurred and bad that they couldn't even be sure of the car's make and model let alone make out the licence plates.
Maybe it wasn't him and was just some other weirdo, or maybe my bestie was just very lucky, I don't know. But it was a shame that what should have been great footage was such poor quality iykwim.
I didn't hear the radio interview, but my heart breaks for Sarah's family. It must be so hard not knowing where she is

Jupiter: I'm not really sure if it was on the news, we both thought it was all a bit of a joke at the time and something that was being blown out of proportion iykwim (young and dumb

). It didn't become serious to us until after we saw the footage as my friend thought the man had just pulled up after she had broken down and was being a bit weird insisting she have a lift home with him. On the footage though he is there moments after her car stops and is following right behind her like a shadow while she walks to one phone booth and then down the street to another because the first one was broken. She had no idea he was so close
sad.gif
gives me shivers still.

Highly likely this is bullsh***. Unfortunately this case attracts certain people who will make things up. If you go check the BF thread you will discover it's a hot bed of bull****. People claiming they saw CG at the Conti on the night etc. Typically these are the same posters who come back time and time again with a new alias and a new story that inserts themselves in the action.
Yep, totally agree & I have told you Batho who it is. Billywhizz said she is a nutjob along time ago. I think I will leave it at that & not be accused of derailing it.

Lets just wait & see what Bret does about the frame of footage I linked him to. When does his paper 'The Post' comes out in Shenton Park?

What I find interesting about this is that in the 2nd paragraph the poster referred to 2 phone booths "walks to one phone booth and then down the street to another because the first one was broken". Does anyone recall there being 2 telephone booths in reasonably close proximity to be referred to as 'down the street'?

Brilliant find thankyou and thankyou to Sutton for posting the extra shot ! I am of the definite opinion he is using a mobile phone. He appears to be leaning backwards slightly to perhaps get some light; holding with his left hand and using his right hand. If you study the image of the 'phone' really closely and carefully you can make out the phone screen. The angle of the object he holds is on an angle which would make it extremely unlikely he would be shooting a photo.

The 'outside' footage of MM shows him motioning with his left hand too; perhaps he is left handed.

Sutton what are those extra words on the 2nd screen shot ? I've not seen those before. If these words were on the 1.08 footage (as part of the CIA documentary) when it was released in Australia that would be the footage that was released to the press the morning of the day prior to the public release the following evening. The 1.08 footage you have used is that the footage posted on youtube by Flect or did you obtain the footage from elsewhere ? The link below is a newspaper article about the release bungle.

Thanks for the correction; I had made a note of the vehicle being a sedan and when I checked the note I see I had put a question mark. Looks like you're correct there.
