on the DNA i wonder did the perp visit the victims after disposal
he could of left evidence right up until the girls were found ,both girls were found well of the road and well hidden if he was visiting which i think he was were would he park, he was in a 2wd so he was unable to go bush,, in CGs case there was a horse riding facility not far up the road did he have a horse .was he dying horse rugs, bandages towels etc a commodore station wagon is ideal for towing horses and carrying saddles and tack etc just a thought

"I actually attended the riding school as a kid years before these deaths but still knew people that went there regularly. One friend knew the guy that came across the woman screaming when she found the body, so saw it also. He heard her from the paddock and came over. Funny thing is he said that that morning he had been out there with the horses and for the first time ever they were acting weird and refused to go near that end of the paddock like they were spooked. The police interviewed him at length and even grilled him as a suspect for a while. He also said he had noticed a white ute stop on that road in that spot a day or two before and when he walked over to see if they needed help they peeled off. May be related, may not. "

"I have followed a lot (of) false hope," Don said.
"And it's burned up a lot of energy."
But one phone call in particular has stayed with him - the only one he believes is genuine - and which either came from the killer or someone who knows them.
It was at 2am on a Sunday morning shortly after Sarah went missing. The caller asked him, "Are you Sarah's father?"
Don won't give details of what the man said but he still believes it wasn't a hoax.
The caller gave him a location - 5600ha of dense land and bush. Don went there but the size of the location and the dense vegetation meant looking was "hopeless".
"I would like them to somehow get in touch with me and verify what they had to say because that has haunted me for 19 years," he said.

The area in question is Gnangara Pine Plantation in Lexia.

The area in question is Gnangara Pine Plantation in Lexia.

That area could be searched. You would just have to stick to the CSK's MO and that is depositing the body fairly close to the side of a road. You could just walk up and down the side of the road zig zagging. If you had a 4WD set up for camping you could set up a camp site and work from that. Hmmm, this is intriguing. I am even tempted to try and pull some strings in the Army and put together a team of about 30 blokes and search the road side verges line abreast. I believe it would only take the best part of a week.

Just need something a little more solid to go on. Maybe I could approach Don and ask him about it, letting him know I'm keen to put together a search party. Hopefully they still have some money left in that slush fund they had organised by Dennis Glennon to help fund it, as the soldiers will need to be fed and watered. They could stay at Irwin Barracks.

I think you should read DM's book.
Okay, I am.

Does anyone have any comments about Dr. DA? According to DM's book, he:

1. Was friends with Susan Christie (missing from Perth since 2001), he may have been one of the last known people to have seen Susan
(Warning: Adult content ads on the page)
http://wa.general.narkive.com/N0OD6w4o/jury-told-of-sleazy-doctor

2. Sold his house to the McMahons; was Sarah McMahon's doctor

3. Was told by a client that Ciara was being kept alive for a few days, but she was going to be sacrificed in a ritual. DA contacted Macro with the story, and also relayed it Ciara's boss, Neil Fearis

Hi Sutton, I just read DM's book also and found it very informative, I couldn't put it down.
I thought the inclusion of the doctor (Dr.AD I thought)in the book felt a little odd, because it never went anywhere, he wouldn't speak to DM, but the fact he made it into the final edit tells me there is probably more to his part in the story.

Thanks for your reply, GreenDevil.

The area in question is a grid of limestone roads linking surrounding blocks of either cleared or growing pine trees. The first step would be determining which 2WD entry/access roads existed on the Claremont side of it, during 1996. The roads inside are very similar to what Woolcoot Road was like in 1996.

I don't feel the killer would have driven too far inside, but, should the remains be there, it would probably be very well hidden under dense branches or foliage; perhaps at the base of a non-pine tree, following the previous dumping MOs.

It is interesting to note the number of utility companies that have infrastructure within the location, including the Water Corporation and Telstra.

Regards.

Agree the location is going to be close to an access road.

My reservation about Nilgen is that it is just too far out. I think earlier deduction by Bart (?) is that the csk would have had a scant three hours in order to be back by sunrise, so probably less than an hour from ground zero?

I reckon look closer in at areas of bushland with reasonable access. 20 years on, this is going to be much closer to habitation. Look at industrial buffer zones?

Switching the subject to ask some questions from the book. In August 2004, police served a search warrant on the Irwin Rd house where SR lives. The items related to Jane are listed as:

(Location 3491 , Chapter 60 )
Clothing and jewellery belonging to Jane Louise Rimmer, namely blue denim Billabong jeans, long-sleeve dark-blue stretch top, short jacket in blue corduroy, elastic-sided black shoes and a small handbag with a long strap.

Jane is wearing a white or light-colored top in the MM video. Which is correct--the video or DM's report of the search warrant?

I have seen posters questioning why the actress who portrayed Jane in the re-enactment was wearing a dark top.

Is it possible Jane had two shirts and the light-colored one was found at the disposal site. This could explain the early report of clothing found nearby and how police attained vehicle fibers.

This may or may not be relevant to the case but I see in the news today about the recapture of prison escapee Bernd Neuman.

When Bernd Neuman escaped in Feb 2014, he was three years into a 15 year sentence for drug trafficking. He had been on the run for almost two years before being located living in a humpy in bushland on the Gold Coast (QLD).

Back track to September 17, 2010 and the awful rape of the german nanny in Mosman Park. ( One of the sex offences police were investigating in regard to the Claremont killings)

It struck me how much Bernd Neuman looks like the photofit image of the rapist. Similar in build and height as well...and obviously had bushskills.

Thoughts anyone?

Pretty close, I think.

Gnangara is specified as the definite location near the end of the book. Disregard my earlier suggestion.

Astute observation. This is a reasonable, if not likely, match.

Did you submit a tip to CrimeStoppers?

i agree there is a resemblance but thats as far as it goes, BD is a drug trafficker and a big one at that this bloke was turning over millions in days he drove a porsche and lived in a luxurious apartment he is in to money not raping, i would say they also have DNA, plus his partner in crime steven cookie monster cookson would not do business with a sicko rapist

I have a mini project for the forum. I am sure if we all put our heads together with all the knowledge everyone has we could come up with some connections for this case. I have a theoy, that the killer must have had a connection to all three of the disposal sites. If you think about it logically, the killer would not drive the victims somewhere that they were unfamiliar, due to fears of the unknown and fears of being detected. Therefore if we reason that the killer must have had some sort of a connection no matter how small with the disposal sites, we may be able to come up with a red hot POI. This theory also has criminal psychology merit as well and is a common trait for a lot of past serial killers.

So if we think 1996-97 and what was going on in Wellard and Eglington. What are some possible connections for those two areas? Also what about the Gnangara State Forest/ Pine Forest? Lets assume that SS is somewhere in there, what are some possible connections that the killer may have with that area?

My money is on trail bike riding - very popular then and now in all of these locations (during daylight hours!) and a good cover for scouting locations.

PS: Also one must wear a helmet - a neat disguise? Banks think so...

3. Was told by a client that Ciara was being kept alive for a few days, but she was going to be sacrificed in a ritual. DA contacted Macro with the story, and also relayed it Ciara's boss, Neil Fearis

Was he a psych? Either way, that is some wack stuff for a client to just come out and say.

  • #639
greendevil- i second the motocross suggestion.

and/or somebody involved in property development or civil engineering industries, considering the disposal site areas have begun to be devolped, and gnangara pines(assuming that is where SS is hidden) is right next to the ellenbrook area which has popped up around the late 90's early 00's.

Probably a psych and/or a psycho.

(Location 1217, Chapter 22, The Devil's Garden)

Neil Fearis receives a visit from Perth GP Dr Andrew Dunn. He has information to pass on, he says, that has been given to him by a female patient whom he does not name. He has gone to the police with the information, he tells Fearis, but they have not taken him seriously. This patient has told him that Ciara is being held captive in a house where black magic rituals will take place to appease the gods at the autumnal equinox. Come the Easter long weekend, she will be offered up as a human sacrifice, like the sacrificial lamb. Fearis, too, passes the information to the Macro taskforce.

The sacrifice was supposed to happen at The Spot in Yanchep. Neil Fearis hired Mike Buckley, a former cop turned PI to tail the female patient around-the-clock, but nothing happened.

It was interesting how Dr. Dunn came up a few different times in Debi Marshall's research. I guess just coincidence.
