Clergy and Hospice helps dying man lose his virginity

If the guy was of legal age...he really didn't need permission. He could have simply kicked hospice out of his room and called any woman (prostitute or not) on his own to come visit for whatever reason. Aren't hospice patients are allowed privacy if they are able to ask for it? I guess I don't understand why everyone had to be involved in his quest for sex.

I was thinking the same thing.

I'd figure he is probably shy and, obviously, inexperienced - perhaps a bit sheltered as well, I don't know. Obviously he felt like he needed some help in accomplishing this mission.

And alot of folks under hospice care aren't real mobile... when I read the articles, I think they kept it to "life limiting disease" or something like that. I doubt he would of asked for help if he didn't need to.

I don't see anything wrong with this at all--the poor guy is 22 and DYING--who cares if he's with a hooker or not? I say Kudos to this Hospice

You know, it's been awhile since I have had any action. Do you think the Hospice dating service would give me a referral?

Just being a patient in a hospice means you have a "life limiting disease". A hospice is (for lack of a better term) the last stop on the highway. It is where people go to die. They don't go to a hospice for medical treatment of their illness.

I say good for him. I know I sure wouldn't want to die without ever doing certain things.......sex is one of them.:)

I think it's wonderful that they helped him do this.

But then, I think prostitution should be legal.

I agree completely.

I feel bad for him b/c I think what he was really looking for was a relationship with a woman and had sex confused with it. I did read that he was dissappointed with the experience.

Me also.

I think that no matter how good the experience was, I think it would only reinforce what I was losing.

May God have mercy on his soul and give him rest.

I think many people would say their first go at sex was a disappointment. Practice makes perfect, you know;) , but it doesn't sound like he is going to have opportunity for practice.

You are right that much of it depends on his expectations.

If you are looking for sex, sex can satisfy.

If you are looking for love and a relationship, sex (especially first time sex with a stranger) is rarely a satisfying substitute.

Being he has nothing to compare the experience to...he might have been building this up in his mind so much anyway that it would have been an even larger disappointment with a real girlfriend! At least, this way he had a pro and didn't need to worry about satisfying her needs.

Hospice serves to give people dignity in life and help them transition into death. If I were on his case, I wouldn't have judged him and would have allowed him to experience life in any way possible unless it was illegal or medically unsafe for me to do so. (The Disneyland request, I suppose, didn't quite hold the same fascination for him! LOL)
