Ssssso the dude kept rising one red flag after another and all the schools he was employed in did was playing "throw the hot potato". Like "this man is a creep, let's make him someone else's problem". That's not how it should work...
I 100% agree.

Wonder what his family has to say about him, how his family life looked like. Was he still with his girlfriend at the time he snapped or did they go their separate ways.
Hearing from former partners could definitely be revealing. I also want to know more about Khan the cat - specially, where is he? Did AM even bring him to Arkansas? I know some cats are good travellers, but I don't think most of them would enjoy multiple moves to new states in a relatively short space of time. I hope the little guy is well and being taken care of, wherever he is

Right, AM be damned! I want a public update on the status of sweet Khan.

I didn’t think of the nightmares about health insurance with that many employer changes, there would also be a change in doctors.
You would want the same doctor to oversee your care and not jump from one doctor to the next.
Of course- there are some that do that in order to try to obtain meds for misuse.

Calling the Mandatory Reporter hotline is the best way I know to report someone who is acting in ways that could cause a child harm. Child Protective services should investigate, not school admin. The motivations for school admin seem to be to cover themselves, and they are out of their area of expertise in trying to question kids regarding abuse. They should stay in their lane.

We had a case in Texas where a school covered it up and two years went by before they figure out what he had done- sick sadistic perverse things to dozens of little girls. I read the symptoms some of the little girls were having- and also little boys who he had exposed himself to. He had forced some 7-9 yr old kids watch him pleasure himself, among other games he made up for the little girls, and gave away prizes and candy. He worked with the kids alone out of the eyes of any other adult.
It took way too long for the truth to come out- and so he kept doing his job in another location.
He is in prison now!

Very strange,
IMO

In terms of seeking medical treatment/insurance difficulties.

If a teacher is diagnosed with a mental health disorder and prescribed medication. Would that need to be disclosed? I’m not talking about a lower scale disorder, but something more serious. Do HIPPA laws protect the individual?

I imagine some may not seek treatment to protect thier job? Just thinking out loud.

On the one hand you'd think HIPPA would offer complete concealment. On the other, if a patient is working with young children they too need protection. Off to research it....

I’m bipolar. Everyone here is allowed to their opinions, but I think some education about bipolar individuals is warranted. First, opposing personalities or actions in an individual are not indicative of one being bipolar. I have not seen any evidence that this man has had even one manic or depressive episode in his life.

People with bipolar disorder experience periods of excitement, overactivity, delirium, and euphoria (known as mania), and other periods of feeling sadness and hopelessness (known as depression)

Also, while I acknowledge that the threat of violence from people with bipolar is elevated when in a manic phase, the overwhelming majority of bipolar people are a danger to themselves, not others. It’s a harmful stigma out there that just because someone who does something violent has had mood swings or appeared to have different personalities around different people in the past that it means they’re likely to be bipolar.

People with bipolar disorder may experience strained relationships, problems at school or work, and difficulties in carrying out daily activities. Having bipolar disorder also increases the risk of suicide and of developing anxiety and substance use disorders.

People with bipolar disorder are more likely to smoke, use alcohol, have a physical health condition (e.g. cardiovascular or respiratory disease), and experience difficulties in accessing health care. On average, people with bipolar disorder die more than 10 years earlier than the general population (2).

I could be completely incorrect but in the straight hair mugshot it kind of looks like he's wearing makeup on the right side (his left side) of his face, it looks like concealer over bruising, it's more yellow/green toned than the other side of his face and the cheekbone almost looks swollen. I wonder if the Brinks got a punch in and he tried to cover it up before going to get the hair cut.

It also looks like he tried to flat iron his hair, probably to hide his identity if he thought someone on the trail saw curly hair.

Yes I think you are right, he said Cavern/s.
This would mean that he was there on that loop trail for more than an hour- as the young man said they left the park about 1:30.
These murders took place between 2-2:30 if the 911 call went out about 2:30-2:40.

He wasn’t dressed for running in hot weather, while his profiles say he is a runner.

That seems to suggest he was in a small specific location for a long period of time.
No cell service?
Short distance from his car?

His loud fast car shows a distinct lack of awareness- if he had driven out quietly he would not have been memorable.

IMO
JMO, he was waiting for a young female victim. I think this was a situation that escalated because Clinton interrupted/confronted him about something he was doing or about to do to his girls. He sensed danger just like everyone else who saw this guy in the park that day.

The girls could have been out of eye sight of the parents, when this initially occurred, then came upon him talking to them.

I’m still catching up, but I think this guys anger is directed at parents. Meddling ones, happy loving ones, invested ones. I get the sense that seeing happy, nurturing parents doing something fun with their children was partly a trigger, as was parents just being present and maybe getting in the way of his plans.

I don’t think it’s unconnected to why we haven’t seen his parents quickly issue a statement or other close family or even another sort of support network around him. I think he doesn’t have it. And that anger we’re seeing in photos from even years ago is rooted there. JMO

ABC7 talked to his childhood friends

Bill Englehart says he grew up with McGann near Midway.

"He was seemingly normal. Just played sports, was a nice kid. I couldn't even imagine this would happen," Englehart said.

Englehart says he and his friends often hung out at McGann's home in Garfield Ridge and they all played on the same sports teams.

"Normal family, you know. His brother was cool. It's a shock."
Englehart says he has not spoken to McGann in more than 10 years

Thank you for posting this. In addition to everything you've written here, people suffering from mental illnesses are far, far more likely to be the victims of abuse and violence rather than perpetrators of it.

I also see no evidence yet produced that this offender suffers from or has been diagnosed with any mental illness whatsoever and don't see the point of creating diagnoses out of thin air.

My opinion.

Did he need such a large, empty backpack?
( I couldn't help but think of abduction....)

Thank you SO MUCH for this, @Emerald1328

There is an incredible amount of misinformation in the general public about mental health challenges and disorders, even just simply because the conventional names attached to them are not reflective of the problems.

AM gives me very different vibes, though I agree, he was well liked by kids....

- Having a sexual interest in young female children, AM enters elementary education because, well, that is where the victims are.

- Once in the field, he is observant regarding the likes, dislikes of his targets and what approaches work and do not work. He becomes popular with children. He is decidingly less popular with parents and administrators who are not amused by his lap sitting fun and child dating proposals.

- AM proceeds to blast through what, 5 employers in three years? At least one termination was for red flags of the sexually creepy, though not criminal per se sort.

- AM drifts from high standards, well supervised districts like high income Flower Mound in the DFW area to lower income Broken Bow, Oklahoma where standards maybe reduced due to recruitment and retention shortages and where likely lower staff to student ratio makes yellow flag creepy behavior less noticeable.

In short, I suspect that AM's "best" was always "predatory pedo".

It looks like Donald Elementary School in Flower Mound, Lewisville ISD had ‘nearly half of teachers leave the district’ in May of 2022- the year he was hired to fill a position.

NewsNation- Interview with Mother whose son with McGann in 5th grade on Fridays

Described as charismatic
Later saw red flags
Played games on iPADs, watched the World Cup
Plays tag
Plays Truth or Dare with the girls
Gives out candy to the girls
Brings in Sonic drinks to special girls in the class
Had girls sit in his lap
Told a girl he wished he could date her

Parents of girls who thought their daughters were being groomed went to the district, he was placed on admin leave in early May 2023.

Hmm, more than classroom management issues, professional judgement, favoritism.
All persons in Texas are Mandatory Reporters- call the hotline if suspicion of child neglect or abuse. Why did parents not call? They left it up to the school admin.

Her son (he would be 12 or 13) concerned about the little girls whose parents were murdered. And the little girls who were victims years ago. He is asking how did it happen that a murderer was his teacher?

Not a good look!
IMO

I think you have it backwards. In this mugshot (which I believe is the first one):

AM looks just like he did in the hair salon immediately before his arrest:

(I posted about this previously: #970)

What makes hair curly and then straight, or straight and then curly?
Did he straighten it to be longer over his face,
And then in custody he showered, so it got wet and became curly?

How did it look when he appeared in court? Straight or curly?

McGann returned to Garfield Ridge two years ago to show his girlfriend the home where he grew up, according to Anthony Morales, a 71-year-old retired CTA maintenance worker who bought the home from the McGann family in 2020.

Morales said, adding that he believed the McGann family lived in the home for at least two decades before selling it to him.

Since Mr Morales ony saw the guy once, I think it's possible that it wasn't Andrew, but his brother who took his girlfriend to see his childhood home. The house in question is pictured in the article.

I am not the only one who has suggested there may be mental illness related to a young man who has been described as normal and then now is not.
Of course I understand the expectation to provide evidence, as you don’t know me and I’m no expert.

Who is profiler John Kelly?
John Kelly is an internationally recognized criminal profiler and psychotherapist whose expertise has been valued in over 100 serial murder cases. Some of the more notorious cases include the Long Island Serial Killer, the Atlantic City Serial Murders, the Green River Killer, the I-70 Serial Killer and the Golden State Killer.

Profiler John Kelly- Who is the Devil’s Den Killer?
Video description:
Two parents murdered. Two children left behind. The Devil’s Den Killer struck in broad daylight, and he may still be out there. John Kelly takes us deep into the profile of a possible schizophrenic predator, unpacking his disturbing behavior and what it tells us about his next move. Our true crime fans won't want to miss this emotional and urgent investigation.

Some of us have experience watching a young adult decline as a mental illness takes over, and the difficulty they face in regulating meds and dealing with side effects.
But I am certainly no expert

IMO
Well said.

Curly hair when wet or damp can look straight. Curly hair can be flattened with a hat. Dirty Curly hair can be flat. Curly hair that was combed out while drying can look flat.

Possibilities: his hair was wet from getting cut when arrested, then dried later and curled up since no combing.
He went through the shower after arrest and his hair curled up on drying.

Any before haircut pictures might show flat hair due to wearing a cap.
