Im going for more of a peeping Tom in the bushes confronted by the girls father - a scuffle breaks out and the suspect has a knife.
RSBM
Could this be why AM wore overly large apparel with big empty bags, so he could camouflage what his hands were doing?

And if you're right, could AM have reacted with such psychotic fury when Mr. Brink confronted him, because he knew if the Brinks 'told on him' his life would be over?

Photo of the perp's mugshot, still with his barber's smock on. ^^^
I didn't know if it was posted here yet ?
Eeek !
He is showing everyone his angry hate-filled expression, because that's what it appears to me.
The CNN article says LE also took some samples of his already-cut hair.
Question-- was he cut/injured and was there still evidence of that ??

I have to surmise some educators/school admin. may have had some 'off' vibes and maybe that's why he was traveling around ?
Imo.
Great that he was getting a haircut and so some of his hair would be on the floor and LE could take it to do DNA testing. They wouldn't have been able to get a hair sample for DNA once arrested.

  • #503
I wonder if LE will tell us what they found in the duffel bag at the press conference today.

  • #504
Why the 2 booking photos? Was he transported from one facility to another?
I'd say the first one wasn't good for biometrics. His face was partially covered with hair. Just guessing though.

Also drug testing on his hair.

Khan may be a reference to Star Trek although I'm not sure if this type of guy would be into sci-fi. Or maybe Genghis Khan, who was famous for inter alia, number of wifes and children...
I'm currently listening to a podcast about GK.
Found out I've been pronouncing his name wrong all this time. :p

This perp, AM, may or may not have been trying to kidnap a child, but I'm wondering if the sight of the two girls caught his attention ? (sorry to have to even type that)
There are some criminals who (imo) cannot be rehabilitated and will always reoffend, so I'm thinking this perp may be one of those types ?
Permanently sick & evil.
Hope he gets the harshest penalty possible.

There needs to be justice for Clinton and Christine.
Just a young family out enjoying a wholesome activity on a beautiful day when evil struck.
Omo.

And he has been charged with Capital Murder…not manslaughter
Why? Maybe it was because he killed two people during the commission of a felony- an attempted kidnapping?

IMO
I've seen this brought up a couple of times so I wanted to look at the definitions in Arkansas, BBM.

A person commits murder in the first degree if:
  • (1)Acting alone or with one (1) or more other persons:
    • (A) The person commits or attempts to commit a felony; and
    • (B) In the course of and in the furtherance of the felony or in immediate flight from the felony, the person or an accomplice causes the death of any person under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life;
  • (2) With a purpose of causing the death of another person, the person causes the death of another person; or
  • (3) The person knowingly causes the death of a person fourteen (14) years of age or younger at the time the murder was committed.

  • a) A person commits murder in the second degree if:
    • (1) The person knowingly causes the death of another person under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life; or
    • (2) With the purpose of causing serious physical injury to another person, the person causes the death of any person.

  • (a)A person commits manslaughter if:
    • (1)
      • (A) The person causes the death of another person under circumstances that would be murder, except that he or she causes the death under the influence of extreme emotional disturbance for which there is reasonable excuse.
      • (B) The reasonableness of the excuse is determined from the viewpoint of a person in the actor's situation under the circumstances as the actor believed them to be;
    • (2) The person purposely causes or aids another person to commit suicide;
    • (3) The person recklessly causes the death of another person; or
    • (4)Acting alone or with one (1) or more persons:
      • (A) The person commits or attempts to commit a felony; and
      • (B)In the course of and in furtherance of the felony or in immediate flight from the felony:
        • (i) The person or an accomplice negligently causes the death of any person; or
        • (ii) Another person who is resisting the felony or flight causes the death of any person.

(Note: not every state has the same definitions. These are the definitions for Arkansas.)

Yep !
Also he may have left blood on the victims if wounded himself, or touch dna ?

This is what I thought, too, but why the large duffle bag? That really bothers me. (Plus the accusation of at least one parent.)

Of course, mental illness, especially as serious as schizophrenia, can make it hard to keep a job. And yet he was able to mask well enough to continue getting new jobs. Could it be that McGann is OK while on meds, but decompensates when off?

Hopefully, we’ll know more at today’s press conference.

IMO
In my experience, many mentally ill people carry multiple bags with them, even if they don’t have much in them. I don’t know why this is the case, but it’s common with mental illness.

Do you know how pedos prevent kids from telling adults?

They tell them, “This is just our little secret. It is ok, and we don’t want any harm to come to you or your sister, or mom or dad. Now do we?”

So they work based on little children’s lack of understanding of sex, and their small size, and fear. They threaten them with their lives, and the lives of their family members. Or pets!

What was the knife for? To threaten the little girls and their parents.

Sicko

Would you expect the school district to notice such oddities in an interview? He was recently hired as a new school teacher in the area, rented a new house, etc. He was getting his haircut yesterday and apparently the stylists didn't catch on to anything amiss until the cops showed up.

I know people with mental illness can function, but I'm not seeing this particular man as someone who wanders around carrying bags....except for a purpose.

Thank you for this!
And there should be another section for Capital Murder- able to be given the Death Penalty.
I’m not seeing death penalty mentioned here, Arkansas has the DP.

Here is that Capital Murder section, I think the same website you used. Justia Law
Maybe one murder while attempting to flee from the other murder?
Maybe murders while attempt at kidnapping?

Unless he pleads (& I don't like that option unless he gets LWOP with no options to appeal); I do hope those girls can testify about what happened & what they saw, via remote camera -- and do not have to see him and be in the same (court)room with him.
They've been traumatized enough.
Imo.

Aha! You're right. I didn't even look for that since my state doesn't have that terminology.

I'll add it to the list in a sec.

Why? Maybe because he killed two people during the commission of a felony-

an attempted kidnapping?

What was in the child-sized duffle bag? Sedatives? Duct tape? zip ties?

IMO
Good point, I hope we will learn the basis for the charge soon.

You didn't mention that (per Inthedetails post above) intentional murder is also a capital offense.

"With a purpose of causing the death of another person, the person causes the death of another person;".

ie bringing a knife and hiding on a trail, then jumping out of the bushes and continually stabbing someone/two people, until they are dead...

Manslaughter/2nd degree would apply if there was no proof of intention, ie resulting from an argument...

On the detention link someone posted it has the charges.
He has 2 counts of Capital Murder, so they are going for the death penalty.
