One wonders what the people he encountered in Sand Springs, Oklahoma had to say about him.

This is also not outside the age for mental breaks for things like schizophrenia.

I heard them say that "there is no indication at this time that the girls were his target.

The Major was asked if the defendant made a confession. She replied that it was "an admission," she clearly didn't want to use the term "confession."

IMO, an admission would be a verbal “Yes, I was there and hurt those people”. And a confession would be more like a formal written statement detailing exactly what happened, in chronological order, and signed by the perp. I can see how one word would be used instead of the other, IMO

Seems like a stretch, but perhaps do-able if he is frugal and earns extra money by coaching, for example. Not sure why a single guy would rent a three bedroom, but maybe that's the normal housing stock there. And, maybe he planned on having roommates, which would make the place within affordable reach.

I know nothing about cars. LE said he drove a Kia Stinger. How is that on a budget?

I wonder if we'll find him living beyond his means. Moving from state to state is expensive and would likely eat up any savings he could manage during the school year.

Financial stress can surface in behavior. NOT saying that is what happened here, but perhaps something to consider.

thank you for posting, I saw the part where they cuffed him before the press conference started. He is so much slighter than I expected, and looks so very young. ALmost like it does not match that photo from the backside we've looked at.

It's likely a very small concession, but perhaps it will be a comfort over the years to know how many people hold their parents in the absolute highest regard for protecting their children. And, maybe, when they are older they will take comfort in knowing their parents died together as a team, true parenting partners.

I will hold the family in my heart, silently of course. Let's leave them be.

I assume he was in custody for both of those photos.
I’m guessing while in custody they gave him a haircut, as he murdered two people using a knife so his hair could contain cast off blood.

His curly locks became evidence.

Then they took another mugshot.

His hair may have been dampened and had a product that is a detangler/straightener sprayed on it by the hairdresser to make it easier to comb and cut. Once his hair dried, it may have been curlier.

I for one would give that serious consideration.

Rather than kill himself to protect society from his likely future depravity, he commits a crime that would guarantee a death penalty sentence.

A 'slow suicide by law enforcement' methodology. And possibly by not involving any children in this crime he may spare himself torture in prison.

Interesting concept, IMO.

I have no desire to be in prison, I don’t even care to live in a city or be in a crowd.
I also don’t want to die, there is too much I enjoy doing.

If I had urges that were illegal, I don’t know.
Get some kind of hormone therapy, or surgery?
Maybe live in the woods somewhere and stay away from people who could be victims?
Find a distraction, take up a hobby?

I’m sure it is not this simple, or we wouldn’t have a Registered Sex Offender website for each state showing where they all live.

I agree, in the youtube video of the arrest you can see he was arrested with his bangs straight - probably so they could be trimmed in the salon. He was probably then booked into the local jail, where he showered before being transferred.

Not sure why they released both - maybe just because they are quite different, they decided to release the earlier one too.

After listening to the hairstylist, I'm getting a different perspective of him.

I assumed he would have a "mask" of an affable school teacher. But the stylist said he was scary and soulless, which is not a huge surprise for a double-murderer. The surprise is he didn't want to or couldn't pretend to be sociable and friendly in an atmosphere where it's normal to be at least a little friendly.

Now I'm wondering if he isn't intelligent? I know he would have to be for his career, but I guess I thought he'd present himself better, to be able to fake sociability.

If LE asked, "Did you kill them?" did he answer "yes" because he's kinda dumb?

Is he all there?

(Yes, I know his crimes indicate he isn't "all there," but I hope ykwim.)

He must have basic intelligence to get into college, graduate, take his licensing exams, and interview and all that. So what happened next?

I too am wondering. Did he have some sort of emotional break?
I of course think anyone who could do such a thing is broken in some way.
And how could you live with the images and sounds in your head afterwards?

So a few days later he is seen with visible blood still in his car?
What murderer drives the get away car around with visible blood in it, and goes to get a haircut?

What thinking went on before going to the park?

Firstly making sure the girls were safe then returning to look for their parents putting themselves in harms way.
