Ha! You're right. I was thinking stab wounds, blood. But I'm not up on medical instance. I mean I’m sure especially being a nurse she knew what was needed & was willing to use whatever she had available. Unfortunately, he may have been planning to hide the guy or else was waiting for them to return so he could complete his mission since he lives in an irrational world and was maybe grandiose enough to think he could not be caught or something.
By my count, this is the FIFTH school district that Mcgann was hired by since 2022.

No red flags at all? Worrisome

My hypothesis is he's had "intermittent/explosive rage" issues since childhood combined with a bit of "injustice collector" grudges. Factors that lend to this theory are possibly his far far from home catholic high school (was he kicked out of public schools, given this mandate by juvenile court judge, escape from local bad reputation, etc?), reports of his broodiness, inexcusable shortness with students' parents, persistent sour attitude once he knew he'd not be offered another year's contract, and bulging at the seams angry "death stare" at random unknown hikers in the state park that had caused him zero problems. My guess is he thought with school starting next week, he'd never be caught and he needed this *release* before beginning yet another school year wherein e knew from too many past experiences he'd have to "play nice" in order to last the school year. I wouldn't be surprised if his previous several "tours of duty" saw him commit clandestine acts of violent release just before school started, though hopefully w/o being outright murderous.
seems to me if you have an odd personality, being a class room teacher- out in front of 20-30 sets of inquiring eyes every single day, would not be a great job- but then maybe people think elementary kids "will not notice" and can be bullied or cajoled. IMO. why have this as a career?

They stated no criminal record iirc.

Expunged cases will still show up on fingerprinting lives scan as far as im aware, but not more common background checks.

Has anyone noticed there are two different mugshots with two different hairstyles ?

Vs

The latter being the hairstyle he had when being arrested. No nose pimple either.

I wonder from when the first one is
The straight hair mugshot was first. His hair matches the arrest videos released from the salon. The “nose pimple” looks like a healing cut if you zoom in on a good image of it. There are also some marks on his forehead. That mugshot was just hours after the first. The press released it as “new mugshot.” Looks like a curly haired guy took a shower and exposed marks on his face that had been covered by makeup. Witness accounts said he had blood on his face in the park that day.
I think I’m supposed to say this is MY OPINION about the make up. My first post. I joined because this case is local to me and I’m hopelessly deep diving. :)

A lot of times if someone is struggling in a work environment or giving off creepy feeling in the classroom, they just tell them to be looking for a job because their contract will not be renewed.

Also, with HIPPA laws, the new school district CANNOT dive into WHY the individual was not allowed to return and that they "voluntarily" resigned.

it happens in almost all fields.
HIPAA protects healthcare records. FERPA protects student education records. Neither protects employee records.

The hairdresser said she was in the process of cutting his hair when LE arrived and I figured that must be why the straight hair thing was going on.

That part of it’s just so sad.

I feel it must’ve been a scuffle first and the knife got branded later - I just feel if my husband was under attack knife attack and I had two young children with me hed want me to run with them. I wouldn’t return to scene until I knew I was safe

Vice versa if I was under attack and he could get my children to safety I’d want him to run.

McGann probably hid after he incapacitated the father. Then attacked the mother while she was rendering aid. He misjudged they would be easier prey. I think he would have carried off the little girls if he could have. If the girls wouldn't have made it to the visitor's center he could have hid the bodies and would have had a greater chance to get away with the little girls unnoticed.

Emphasis on the word "adult". You don't see that specific word often in these statements to the public so I'd wager a guess that was intentionally meant to be "leading". It could also explain the religious school so very far from his home. As a former juvenile justice worker, I've seen plenty of kids in court who've been kicked out of more than one school. Catholic schools were generally known to provide more stringent behavior management than public schools. In my state, if catholic school failed, the next step was either the juvenile reformatory or, for kids from families with financial means, the state's one residential military school.

I agree with @ Redhaus theory.
The perp was "flashing"
,Dad didnt like that and sent mother and girls on, no stabbing at that moment. Also does not seem that there was urgency when Mum moved the girls on.

I suspect that she had no idea that her husband was being stabbed and that is why she returned instead of having alerted for help

By my count, this is the FIFTH school district that Mcgann was hired by since 2022.

It was mentioned in some article somewhere that he also did substitute teaching, so the amount of schools you see may not all be whole year. I've know a lot of teachers who subbed at several schools in several districts. At least one who was retired was on a call list for subbing. Not saying there were not red flags, but he may have been able to hop between places enough to fly under the radar.

I thought the same thing about the distance of commute to his high school and came up with some reasons.
Maybe his family is Catholic?
Maybe the school has a rugby team and he wanted to get a scholarship to play rugby in college?

He did play rugby at Fenwick and did play in college.

IMO
I can find no evidence of him officially playing rugby anywhere except the statement from his alleged teammate.

It will be interesting as they release more information. I hope we don't have to wait for trial. Was it said the bodies were found together? If not, maybe AM, being a runner, was booking it outta there hoping nobody else was on the trail to discover the body or that he could pass them unawares quickly and escape in his car before le or 911 was reached. But instead he came upon the wife returning to intervene or render aid and he had to silence this witness and increase his odds of escaping. Maybe their bodies were found at a distance from each other on the trail? Maybe the two met on the trail not far from where she left the children and she had turned back sheerly to keep his attention while the girls fled. I sure wish they'd release that info but may keep it closely guarded until trial.

I'm guessing some locals already know whether they were found together or far apart. Its a community where inside knowledge tends to travel fast & far even when it's not supposed to.

guarantee you he has a criminal record,
one of the articles specifically said "no adult criminal record"
RSBM
Up thread I identified an education time line gap with AM. He graduated high school at ~18 in 2015. He graduated college at ~25 in 2022, 7 years later.

Now, it's not unusual for kids to take a break between high school and college, nor is it unusual for someone to take 7 years to complete college. We don't know which scenario applies to AM.

But what if he was convicted of a crime as a juvenile (e.g in 2015 before he turned 18) and sentenced to jail until his 21st birthday per juvenile court. His juvenile record would be sealed and it might explain his education timeline gap. Maybe he had to delay starting college until age 22.

IMO.

Welcome to Websleuths, @Xlady !

  • #958
His family is on SM, but we can't sleuth them here. Not much recent info though and nothing that could help explain his actions.

His old fb account is still active (last post in 2013):
Interesting. It says he went to University of Illinois Chicago. I wonder what caused him to transfer to college in OK.

I hate tickling. If you were a girl who was tickled by an older boy or man against your will, this is INFURIATING to read. It felt horrible, it felt like being trapped, and it felt weird because tickling was "supposed" to be fun and funny. "What's wrong, you don't like to laugh?!"

just my pissed-off opinion

Yea, nothing weird about that.

2014 recap of a game, bbm

"Two days after arriving in Ireland, Fenwick Friars RFC from Oak Park, Illinois, opened their three-game overseas tour with a match up against the prominent St. Michaels College club in Dublin....

Fenwick started with a limited squad of 17 players with three starters still recovering from prior injuries and unable to play including senior fullback Mike Kelly, senior number eight Ryan Smith and junior prop Andy McGann."
