Really? The kind I have just warps and makes me angry. It's also possible I have a 25 yr old roll of it. Maybe they changed it over the years?
In the name of science I just conducted an experiment with a roll of Duck Tape brand duct tape that I just bought a couple weeks ago. I definitely cannot tear off pieces with my own bare hands, or even when using my teeth. It just stretches and warps and little pieces come off into my mouth from the side, but unable to tear across. At that point I gave up because I value my teeth more than science. lol

I feeling like this was a planned attack. But by who? And why? I can't imagine what those little girls are going through, or the rest of the family.

ADMIN NOTE:

The mother leaving with the kids and going back to the crime scene was only member speculation.

We don't have time to go back and clean it all up right now, so please stop discussing it.

Thank you.

Moo..wow, I figured they would of more on him now. Real curious how the situation started. The girls were there, but guess they are traumatized...

The visitor’s center remained open with heavy law enforcement presence at noon Monday. At least 12 law enforcement vehicles were parked at the visitor’s center. Four more state trooper vehicles sat nearby at one of two trailheads for Devil’s Den Trail, some marked and some unmarked.

Multiple state troopers were stationed at the other entrance to the trail farther down the hill, blocking the entrance and searching through trash bags.

Six to eight officers also were investigating the horse campground area around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Moo...I can tear duct tape easy, maybe it depends on brand?

Scary to think the perp is still out there !
Am now leaning towards a random attack as if it was a targeted murder, the perp would have to know not only that the family was in the park but which trail they took ?
Hoping some clues about the car at least and possibly if the perp's face/head was caught on camera ?
Imo.

Arkansas State Police has said the suspect is a white man, but has no other identifying characteristics.

Police believe they know what the suspect was wearing at Devil's Den on Saturday. He had on a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, dark pants, a dark baseball cap, sunglasses, a black backpack, and fingerless gloves.

They believe he was seen driving toward a park exit in a black four-door sedan. It might have been a Mazda with a license plate covered with electrical or duct tape. From that exit, that vehicle could have traveled on State Highway 170 or State Highway 220.

Just throwing this out there-electrical tape is typically less than an inch wide. That’s a lot of work and tape to cover a license plate. Maybe instead it was duct tape, that would make more sense.
The article I saw (sorry, I forget which one) said the plate was PARTLY covered with tape.

Arkansas license plates are black numbers on a pale background IMG_0012.webp

(Vehicle registration plates of Arkansas - Wikipedia)
so maybe rather than covering the plate, he instead had used a narrow strip of tape to alter one of the numbers or letters to look like a different number or letter? MOO

Pretty generic sketch, but maybe along with the car description, it might generate some tips!

I hadn't really looked at a map. It looks like you can drive in to the trailhead from either HWYS 74 or 170. There is a smaller lot right next to the access. Not sure how crowded the lot was that day, take a look. The visitor's center is next to the lot, it looks like you could walk through the trees and access it but not sure? You can scroll in and out at the link below.

If he was on Hwy 220, where does that lead?

A couple who was killed at Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday, July 26, 2025, was hiking with their two daughters when they were attacked. The girls, who are 7 and 9, were not injured and are safe with family members.Read here for details: https://dps.arkansas.gov/news/asp-releases-additional-information-in-devils-den-double-homicide/

I keep reading this same set of facts.... does that mean he killed the parents in front of the children? "not injured"... just probably never want to go outside again as long as they live and cannot sleep. IMO.

Washington County Sheriff's Office ·

ASP RELEASES COMPOSITE SKETCH OF PERSON OF INTEREST IN

DEVIL’S DEN DOUBLE HOMICIDE
July 28, 2025

WEST FORK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police (ASP) released a composite sketch of a man seen in Devil's Den State Park on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Investigators have asked the public for help identifying the man so that they can question him related to a double homicide at the park.

Investigators said the suspect in the deaths likely sustained an injury while attacking the couple.
The victims have been identified as Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, who recently moved to Prairie Grove from another state. The couple was hiking with their two daughters when they were attacked. The girls, who are 7 and 9, were not injured and are safe with family members.

The couple’s family released the following statement on Monday, July 28, 2025: “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult time as they grieve and learn how to navigate this new reality. They ask that if anyone has any information at all that will help the investigation, to please contact the proper authorities immediately. Clinton and Cristen died heroes, protecting their little girls and they deserve justice. They will forever live on in all of our hearts.”

Anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts should contact ASP Troop L at (479) 751-6663, Extension 2, or call 911. ASP has received numerous calls from the public with possible tips. If leaving a voicemail is necessary, calls will be returned as soon as possible.
At about 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, ASP was notified of a double homicide at the park, located in Washington County. Mr. and Mrs. Brink were found dead on a walking trail. ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is handing the suspected homicide.

Investigators are asking those who visited the park on Saturday to check cellphone photos and videos or GoPro footage for images of the suspect. They are also asking residents of the area surrounding the park to notify ASP if they have access to security and game camera footage.
The suspect was described as wearing a long-sleeved shirt, with sleeves rolled up, rather than a tank top as originally reported. The suspect is an unknown white male with a medium build. He was wearing dark pants, a dark ballcap and sunglasses. The suspect had a black backpack and was wearing fingerless gloves. He was seen driving toward a park exit in a black, four-door sedan.

The suspect’s vehicle may be a Mazda with a license plate covered by electrical or duct tape. It may have been traveling on State Highway 170 or State Highway 220 near the park.

The investigation is ongoing, and ASP is pursuing all leads to apprehend the suspect. ASP is collaborating with all local, state and federal law enforcement partners.

Regarding your question on where Clinton worked. I found this in the article below:

"Hiland Dairy confirmed to the Associated Press that Clinton Brink had transferred from its parent company, Prairie Farms Dairy, from South Dakota, and was scheduled to start his job as a driver delivering milk in the Fayetteville area on Monday."

Comments at Sheriff's FB link are really, really, interesting.

There are so many different uses for fingerless gloves, it would be difficult to pin something down at this point. Truck drivers, weight lifters, rock climbers, dexterity, it goes on and on. We need more facts, IMO.
fishing? Devil's Den has a big fishing lake

Yes, there is fishing at Devil's Den State Park. Specifically, there is an 8-acre lake called Lake Devil, formed by a rock dam on Lee Creek, where fishing and pedal boat rentals are available.

A (now retired) friend of mine drove a school route in the area but many do grocery and corner stores.
