Regarding your question on where Clinton worked. I found this in the article below:

"Hiland Dairy confirmed to the Associated Press that Clinton Brink had transferred from its parent company, Prairie Farms Dairy, from South Dakota, and was scheduled to start his job as a driver delivering milk in the Fayetteville area on Monday."

Today was supposed to be his first day at work. As a milk man.

These were nice, regular folk. I do not believe this was targeted at all. My opinion.

<modsnip - quoted post and response removed>

I know there’s a lot of reasons to believe/think it was random but it feels like it was targeted and not in the sense that anyone will do as long as the perp gets to kill someone. It seems super personal!
All MOO
Agree. It may well have been personal and targeted even though they might not know each other. I wonder if something happened before the park - a road rage incident of some sort maybe - and he just followed the family to the park and things escalated from there. Just a guess.

It is said she took children to car, but then says children were at visitors office?
Can someone help me? I can’t find the link that states the wife took the children to the car then went back to her husband on the trail.

That wasn't confirmed. I read a comment on Facebook that indicated a family member said that's what happened, but then I saw a comment from a family member that indicated that's not what happened. It's all conjecture at this point.

The Brinks' family members provided a statement to ABC News:

"The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult time as they grieve and learn how to navigate this new reality. They ask that if anyone has any information at all that will help in the investigation to please contact the proper authorities immediately. Clinton and Cristen died heroes protecting their little girls, and they deserve justice. They will forever live in all of our hearts."

Update: 2:20 p.m. Monday - The FBI is helping Arkansas State Police in the investigation by providing additional manpower and specialized resources, according to Jessica Franklin, agency spokesperson.

Yes, but the police would not divulge that information this early.
But if the kids were able to ID the suspect, LE would use it on the manhunt. So if it's an ex, LE has a big head start in finding him.

FWIW, I don't think it was an ex.

How would they know if the mom took the girls to the car, unless the girls told them?
Other reports say the girls came to the visitors center. Maybe they got out of the car and walked in after their parents did not come back?
The 911 call was near 2:30-2:45PM, how long did the little girls wait at the car?

How terrifying and traumatic or the little girls, and he hasn’t been found.
If he got to the hwy he could be anywhere by now. This part of Arkansas is 6 hours from five different states.
We should be getting an update. It has already been 48 hours. If a BOLO went out shouldn’t all exits and hwys be looking for that car?

Where could he have gone?

Has an ex been mentioned? I saw pictures of three girls with the parents, but have not heard of an ex.
The odds of someone following them there are about zero. Why would you attack them in a public park if you could do so at their home?

I don’t think LE has any big head start in finding him. It has been 48 hours and reports are giving pretty much the same information as yesterday.

No alerts went out for six hours- that is a long time for him to have a head start before anyone was looking for him along hwys.
And the first descriptions did not have estimation of age or hair color, clothing was changed, some are saying shorts, others long pants.

You would think road blocks would have gone up. That didn’t happen as far as reports are saying.

He could be hundreds of miles away from there by now

Frustrating

FWIW, I don't think there is an ex involved. Nothing about this makes me think an ex stalked them to a public park in a state where they just moved and killed them one at a time.

But, if it were an ex, I would expect the kids would recognize him and provide info to LE.

Then, LE could trace that person to his home, work, parents, etc. Even if the guy got away, LE would have tactics to try to find him. They would have a description to provide the public. Or family of the victims would be raising the alarm.

But it doesn't seem they are doing that. Likely because it's not an ex.

my opinion, which could be wrong

I get the feeling there may not be a quick arrest, I sure hope I’m wrong and some DNA was left.

How would the kids recognize a man from a previous relationship if they were born years after that relationship was over?

I guess I assumed it would be a recent ex, not someone from over 9+ years ago who decided to track them from Montana to Arkansas after they just moved there and know where to find them to attack them in a state park.

I'm not buying the ex theory and will leave it to those who have better back-up for this theory to discuss.

The couple was not hiking alone, as their two daughters, 7 and 9, were with them when they were attacked. They were not injured and are now safely with family members.

Poor girls, so young. I wonder why he left them as witnesses, but glad he did. Could the motive have been random robbery of credit cards, $$$, vehicle keys?

The oldest child is Clinton's daughter from a previous relationship. She would be about 17 years-old now based on the date stamps of the photos on Clinton's Facebook page. I doubt the perp is an ex of either Clinton or Cristen.

Just speculation and very unlikely - but does the oldest daughter have an ex or controlling boyfriend who is not happy about the family's move to Arkansas (assuming the oldest daughter will be there at least part-time to visit her dad and younger half-siblings)?

There have definitely been boyfriends of teen girls who are no longer allowed to see them who rage-kill the family [I can think of a couple of cases from many years ago. ]

But was this suspect young enough? And how would he find them on a hiking trail?

Likely has no bearing on the situation but what does a milkman do in 2025?

This is as good a theory as any.

Make deliveries. The milk gets to stores and restaurants somehow. ;)
