HLN interviewed Gretl Plessinger about 15 minutes ago. She said she was not aware of FICA probation special conditions. She said #7 requires her to get a job. She said they currently have alot of probationers that can't find employment due to their circumstances and some do choose to take classes. JB was the one that said FICA would be taking online classes. I can't find a link to this interview yet.

It sounds like there is nothing that says she has to get a job, period.

the above appears on the Chicago Tribune main page (really? really?) yea yea, the trib and sentinel are the same media company....

I don't know what to think about HHJPs comments (order) - editorializing? getting a kick out of all the silliness? Keeping her well hidden so this carp (and the money) goes away. Hmmm.

That makes me sad. What nerve of the DT to call Strickland "stupid and a fraud". I can't even comment it's so disturbing.. I really hope CM goes into retirement and never comes back

I'm not hearing that at all. What I'm hearing is that for some reason we have taken Jose's usual BS and bought it hook line and sinker.

What I'm hearing from the DOC is that she does have to find a job, but some offenders have a problem with that and in the meantime, while she is searching for one, she will be taking online courses. The DOC has not said she does not have to find a job.

I'm guessing the DT is stalling for time and trying to keep OCA out of the public eye until after the State's case for costs, to try to let things die down. For the 10 minutes that OCA has the best of intentions, there is no way she will be able to focus long enough to actually complete a course and stay out of the public. This is a woman who likes the bright lights and wants to get out there and boogie. She will not be able to stand the temptation.
IMO as usual.

in the presser she seemed like she hadn't even heard about it, but she said that sometimes offenders go to school instead as long as they are working toward an employment goal. she said it was up to the discretion of the probation officer and it seems like she hadn't talked to him, i think she stated she hadn't. i didn't see the HLN interview though.

Bold by me ..
Neither did I and it's been on all morning.

It appears this needs clarification?

"To be honest, I still can't believe what I heard," Strickland said. "I'm stunned by what they said, but as far as I'm concerned that's the end of it…I'm not turning anyone in to the [Florida] Bar. I'm not holding a grudge."

But he said being called "stupid and a fraud" was highly offensive.

Everyone is stupid and frauds but them.. HA! Sick of them calling respectable people names. The judge most have patience of a saint or he just so sick of it all.

Fox news reported...

"Due to security concerns, Anthony has been granted a waiver stating she will not have to obtain employment. Instead, she must attend school, which "will be online," according to Baez."

Funny she wasn't concerned walking the streets of Ohio, drinking her Starbucks and window shopping! Her special treatment is crazy.

Well kiss my grits! They have online jobs too Mr. Baez. Slaps fore-do, what was I thinking. If she gains employment she'll lose her indigent status. Can't let that happen can we. Nah! Let's let the State of Florida's tax dollars pay her way. How did this slip by the judges? ONLINE JOBS! She can take classes online yet not work online?
Are they trying to rile up the masses again. Now I'm mad. Stop the music, I'm done happy dancing. The probation is just as much a joke as her serving any time for the death Caylee. She is the "TEFLON DIVA" of the Century. I think perchance that she has CHARMED them all.

Vinnie on HLN listing the probation requirements which do include finding a job. Jean C confirming this but adding that DOC allowing her to take online classes. Gretl did not say that. She said other probationers are allowed to do this because they can't find work.

It never ceases to amaze me how Casey is able to tap dance around the court system. The "precautions" and special consideration that she is being given with regard to her probation are yet another example of Casey never really having to pay the price for murdering her innocent child

Let's face it whatever she does is going to be wrong, if she gets a job, somehow it would be unfair, if she doesn't get a job then she is copping off.
I am shocked at the uncharitable attitudes shown towards her by mature adults, utterly shocked :(

From the terms and conditions of probation:

(c) Work faithfully at suitable employment insofar as may be possible.

This along with what was said during the presser (many offenders go to school because they can't work) leads me to believe that the DOC is basically covering both ends to make it like they are not favoring her. On one hand they are saying she needs to work, but then backpeddles on that by saying if 'she can't work', she can go to school.

Moral of the story, don't expect FCA to show up at a place of employment anytime soon.

Amen to that!

And for the record, what kind of attorney insults a judge on the record when he or she might have to appear in court before said judge in some future proceeding?

Talk about STUPID!

I am shocked at the unchristian attitudes shown towards her, utterly shocked :(

LOL

If she gets a job, it wouldn't be unfair - it would be UNBELIEVABLE.

ETA: And could we please leave religion out of it? Thanks.

Bbwwwaaaahhhhaaaa! That Baez!!! Online courses indeed! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Has anyone else besides me seen MiraclesHappens answer in the legal thread that says the Florida Statutes mandate that all probationers must complete their GED under the terms of their probation.

I knew Baez was shovelling something, I just couldn't figure out what! And yes, she has to show effort to find a job, but in the meantime she has to finish her GED.

This is too funny! WSers are way too smart for you Baez - why don't you just give it up!!

Amen to that!

Quick easy down and dirty answer? Why Cheney Mason of course!!

I don't agree with that. If KC tried to get a job, that would be RIGHT. But that doesn't mean we have to like her.

Heh heh - did you see my last comment re her G.E.D.? :floorlaugh:

Spin Baez....Spin!!

I've come to the conclusion that the legal system in Florida is a total joke and a mockery of our judicial system, from the judge right on down to the defendant.

Is Perry a broker for the media now, allowing media packets to be handed out to the jury before they left?

They should have prosecuted Cindy for blatantly lying under oath in a murder trial, period.

What's next. FCA will be put in the witness protection program after her imaginary probation then live off our taxes for the rest of her life. Nothing surprises me any more after this fiasco.

Every murder defendant in Florida should be exempt from leg chains. Every felon should get an online education and pick and choose which part of probation they want to follow. There should be no consequences for lying under oath. If you make the exception for one, it has to be made for all.

I would like to know who is paying for her 'online education'. Will a county employee have to monitor her grades to make sure she's actually doing her course work. If it's the state of Florida, they better be prepared to give it to every felon.

Strickland saying he wishes her well. What? This is the same judge that saw her strut into her first court appearance refusing to say a word about her 'MISSING CHILD' and said the truth and Ms. Anthony are strangers. FCA should bare her arse to him and tell him exactly where to kiss it so he gets it right the first time.

IMO IMO IMO

:goodpost::goodpost:

Excellent Post ... I totally agree ... you "nailed it" !!!

About them not disclosing her info because of death threats. IMO if some one really wanted to do something to her they would go and find her and do it...hiding or not

Normally, you do not get any financial assistance if you have a felony.

Who is going to keep paying for all of her living expenses, this schooling, etc.? I can't imagine her DT have unlimited financial resources for her. I imagine the A's new Foundation lined with $$ from Dr. Phil will be paying for her schooling, etc. through creative accounting practices, IMO, MOO, etc. My Opinion Only.
