Closing arguments- thread #173

What I think is weird is that for some sculpted body shots, she didn't ask to see his full frontal chest or photograph anything about his arm definition or thigh definition. Those pictures show me that she's either not a good photographer or she was too preoccupied with the anticipation of the murder to take decent pictures. I have to question if she showed him any of them because he would have been like, "What the hell kind of shots are these?" Her pictures aren't even 10% like this.

I think it is weird that the sexy man is in the shower in his underwear!

JA was an amateur photog. and TA looked nothing like this guy. I think that TA posed for the shower pics. I think that they tooks those pics for fun, never expecting them for the public to see them. I know of a few guys, 24-28 yrs old that take pics of themselves half naked and post them on FaceBook. They think they look great. I don't see that she took crappy pics because she was anticipating murdering him.:moo:

I'm trying to think of some of Juan's memorables. Help me out please

The gopher, tiger and bear
The jury carrying Jodi's gas cans
He wasn't going to chase her outside naked.

But maybe, Washington mutual may have subscribed to the law of attraction.
It's not her fault she has "sight"
Herd or hoard of skateboarders with screwdrivers

:jail:

Wow, that burglary was a check and checkmate move.

I was trying to figure out why in the world JM thought he could get away with that charge. He said today something like, "That was his gun. If she took it and somebody was killed, that's felony murder."

So even if the jury would believe that it was Travis' gun and things happened the way Jodi had said, the jury must still find felony or first degree murder because she'd committed burglary by taking the gun.
JM's felony murder argument was awesome and a punch in the gut to the DT. JW's expression said it all.

When I heard that today I thought, "Wow! What a way to cover the bases! She's damned if she did (bring a gun) and damned if she didn't."

I love this guy more everyday!:blushing:

OK…so the bedding was in the dryer. But, if she had bloody hands (in the desert) why is there no blood on the bedding?

Now it seems it is likely that the camera in the washer was NOT an accident, but it really was to wash her DNA off the camera.

Are we to think that she lied about discovering she had bloody hands in the desert? Maybe to make her "fog" seem more real? Plus, I now doubt there really was a case of Costco water in the trunk. Ford Focus is a small car, so a small trunk. I wondered about her having 3 gas cans in the trunk AND a case of water.

I know some posters have said she put the gas cans in the back seat. If so, she's dumber than I thought.

I guess the best policy is to just expect if Jodi said it, it's a lie. Trying to 'sluth' and using ANY of her statements as fact is fruitless.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Apparently, she bandaged up her hand, too, because there's no blood of hers anywhere else.

That was an attempt to flirt with him.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. I could always tell if my kids kind of liked someone because they would say to them " You are so weird." It is like a teenaged flirt code word. :giggle:

"Tied up with a bow".....now all JM needs to do is put the "Your Presence is Requested at DR" card on the package with his remaining closing argument after the DT does theirs. I have a feeling there's a few "loose ends" that were mentioned during testimony that he'll address, just thinking out loud......

It's an underwear ad for Calvin Klein. And I believe it's the same or similar ad that inspired Jodi. If an ad like this inspired Jodi, then why do we see NO poses even close to this?

That is ALL I'm noting. Her poses had nothing to do with capturing a Calvin Klein feel to her photoshoot. Of course Travis didn't look anything like this guy. That doesn't matter. What matters is the feel and look Jodi claimed she was going for.

Not even one abdomen shot. She shot his back, which she stabbed, his neck, which she sliced, his head, which she hacked. That's all I'm noting.

The jury knows she didn't return the gas can to Walmart, and for Nurmi to suggest at this point that she returned it to another store would be complete insanity. The goal of Nurmi's closing is saving Jodi's life, and for him to perpetuate the gas can lie would do more harm than good (and further damage his credibility in the eyes of the jury). There are other aspects of the premeditation case that may be easier (at least on the surface) for him to challenge. By the way, do we know whether the second Walmart was open in June 2008?

I agree. Nurmi would be going down a dead end.

And according to a post upthread, the 2nd Walmart opened in July 2010.

Juan really singles ALV out in the final part of his narrative before he gets onto jury instructions at the end ..

'We can talk for example about ALV .. one of the things that ALV has, and she has an extensive CV or Resume, and one of the things that she hasn't included on there is she is also a liar!'

He really hates her I truly believe Juan HATES ALV .. then he does an impersonation of her voice ..

I WISH we knew what went on in that closed hearing in chambers. From what I gather, ALV tried to claim she was unfairly targeted and abused by Juan, and Nurmi wanted to bring another Prosecutorial Misconduct Motion against him because of it. But I am thinking it did not go so well for ALV. And I also think Juan HATES her for jumping off the stand and going up to Samantha and saying " Nothing Personal" after she trashed Travis and falsely accused him of pedophilia.

Out of respect to Joshua's family I'm refusing to bite.

Good idea!
I still think she got the idea to use on TA due to this.
She didn't change her story until the siblings stopped
visiting her.
That is no coincidence.
imo

I'm sorry if I brought up Joshua F. If that's out of bounds. I feel horrible that anyone would be haunted by something and felt like there was no way out but suicide. I have family with mental illness, so I am sensitive to that.

OH, I have a question to ask you brilliant Wsers...

you know the picture with JA's foot in it? the "dragging" pic?

I have always thought it was JA's leg and foot in the forefront and Travis' head and arm behind that. (like his arm was bent at the elbow and his head was resting on it).

Today, Juan said it is JA's hand and foot and Travis' head and foot. I don't get it. Even after looking at it again to try to figure that out, I can't see it. What am I missing??

What you were thinking is correct. But - behind Travis' head and arm is his foot. It's on the RH side of the photo, small, but you can make it out.

Basically Travis is flat on the floor with his head
toward the viewer, but we can see his foot too; the eye has a hard time with this as it's a "forced" perspective and our brain has a hard time reconciling ones foot next to one's head.

I hope that made sense.

Nurmi is in a tough spot for Friday's closing arguements, and not because of JM's excellent presentation. JA put the DT in between a rock and a hard place early on and their only hope was that Dr. Samuels and ALV could score a hole in one with the jury. All their eggs were in one basket, the "trash Travis treasury of tirany" but there was a big hole in that basket, in fact it had no bottom, and the eggs were fakes.

They don't have a leg to stand on now unless that haord of skateboarders come in brandishing screwdrivers for a Perry Mason moment.

Apparently, she bandaged up her hand, too, because there's no blood of hers anywhere else.

I re-watched the LE interrogations over that long Easter weekend. JA said 3 times "...I would have worn gloves...", and then there was "I have a box of gloves". She was being very persistent about it, like repeating it would make that nasty palm print go away. Did she wear gloves but the one she was holding the knife in was torn off when she damaged her hand? Was that her left palm print? Too much sleuthing :scared:

It seems to me like Nurmi has an impossible job to do now.
All he has left to do is argue about lies.

From what I heard, it was about her violating the victims' bill of rights act. She could be in some serious trouble me thinks, if that's the case. It won't look good on her cv that's for sure. :floorlaugh:
